Milwall pre match

Dreadful fixture - kept back for an hour after the game , freezing cold , grim part of London (but the atmosphere ( 90 minutes of the worst dogs abuse) can be OK if you're winning or they are playing crap).

For me this is a bit of a pointer to the season - we are not really expected to get anything from the game so if we were to get a result I think that would be a huge boost but I think NP should set them up to attack and try to get an early goal which I am sure he will

For me, this game will be similar to Watford away.

Millwall will come at us, all guns blazing, for the first twenty minutes or so.

If we see out this period and begin to impose our game onto them, I can see us doing ok.

Wilt from the off, so we again have to play catch-up, I can see us losing.

For me, again the battle will be won or lost in the centre of the park. We have strikers who can score and defenders who, in large part, can defend. Win the midfield tussles, control that area, and we'll win the game.

IMO.

Kenny Jackett has targeted a trio of victories to set Millwall up for the Christmas period after being crowned Championship Manager Month award for November.

He led his Lions side through an unbeaten month, taking 16 points from a possible 18 and that sequence of results included impressive wins away to Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as home victories over Derby County and Leeds United.

Millwall face Leicester at The Den tomorrow followed by a midweek trip to Brighton and rounded off by the visit of Barnsley on December 22 and Jackett insists his side have a shot at the play-offs if they navigate next period well.

“I’m pleased to get the award, it was an excellent month and the players really rose to the occasion,” said the Lions boss who beat off competition from south London counterpart Charlton Athletic’s Chris Powell and Watford boss Gianfranco Zola.

He added: “It’s [the Championship] very tight and if you look at the points total rather than the places, which most managers will do at this stage of the season, there are a lot of sides that have a good opportunity to get into the top six.

“I’m pleased to say that we are one of them. We lost at Ipswich last week and we want to bounce back with a good win at home to Leicester tomorrow, followed up on Tuesday by an away trip to Brighton.

“[There are] some excellent games coming up for us, some big games and ones we are looking forward to.”

Though Jackett believes Millwall can be potential promotion contenders he doesn’t believe that fans of the south London club will be getting too carried away just yet.

“They’ll look at the next batch of games,” he said of the supporters, adding: “I’ve emphasised in my programme notes the importance of the next three games in eight days.

“A good eight days or a bad eight days can really affect everything that you’re doing, terms of the belief and, in particular, the confidence of the players.

“The confidence of the players can sometimes be fragile and there’s a thin dividing line between winning and losing games.

“If we can have a good eight days then we can go into the Christmas period with some confidence and looking at the right end of the table.”

I think we'll get something out of this tomorrow. Blackpool and Brighton have beaten them at home this season and neither of them have particularly tough midfields, they are both passing teams which is what we are. We've been undone by Millwall in the past simply by playing very badly in the first half and the game was over early on. Millwall aren't the thugs they are perceived to be, if we turn up and play an attacking game then we'll do them. Our away from is not too good, we need to rectify this with playing without caution like we do at home.

Pissed, in London, watching for the score...

Best strategy is play a 4-5-1 with 2 holding midfielders. Park the bus and try and hit them on the break with Schlupp and Marshall and King. Need someone to hold/target man so Futacs gets the nod up front for me. Predicted score 0-0

Schmeichel

De Laet Morgan Whitbread Konchesky

Drinkwater James

Marshall King Schlupp

Futacs

I was thinking the same thing but I wouldn't play Schlupp ahead of Dyer

Could do with winning today. Can see us getting our tiny little stinkholes a draw but I had a thought earlier and I know it sounds crazy, but if we can reduce them to 1 goal or even zero goals, we've got a chance. You heard it here first mother fvckers

I know it's been said on other threads, and maybe on here too (I haven't trawled through 3 pages yet), but why play Futacs? Surely the game to play him would be against a weaker side, where he can bully them? Why play him in a game where he'll get outmuscled?

Think NP will do a straight swap Vardy for Waggy and Vards will be Mr Selfish, now Jackett has won manager of month revising my prediction 2-0 win Mr Selfish brace! :chant:

2-0 Millwall. Think we'll get outmuscled today - particularly in midfield. No Henderson which is good as he nearly always plays well against us but I still think we'll get gubbed.

Need to get some belief and abit of momentum for next week

Good win or a hard fought draw, a loss is unacceptable especially with all the talk of it being a one off sh1te performence last week

C'mon Leicester

I felt a bad feeling for the Barnsley game, and we just scraped a point.

I've woken up feeling good for today's match.

By the laws of gut feelings, we're getting 3 points.

Someone slap me with a haddock at 5PM if I'm wrong.

Incidentally that's the nickname I give my penis.

My slimy, smelly penis.
