Mack Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 This bloke is an attention whore who wants to work in 'tv'. Credit for the idea, but it's bollocks that was his last monkey and he comes across as an obnoxious annoying geek.
Captain... Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 Did a quick google and this came up: Harvey Wayne were previously known as Apex Solutions. They claim they are a management consultancy firm bit a sales firm. You will be expected to do direct sales in shopping malls and it pays commission only. My son worked a 12 hour shift and made £5 commission and paid £4 travelling expenses. I advised him to leave after his MD told him the name change was to do with "issues surrounding Nigerian Money Laundering" Ok good thing you have done some research, but still call the number find out what they are offering, check with them about commission and see what they say.

Lamby Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 Do you not look at who the employer is BEFORE sending in a *customised for the role* CV? It was done on Reed so no real opportunity to

All employers will have someone who has left & isn't happy about it. The worst that can happen is - you get the job - they turn out to be cowboys - you leave (with a bit of cash) & sign back on again. You will be back where you are now. Anyway. If the job is 100% comission & it's all about talking shit...........you might be quite good at it.
James. Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 Lamby does your CV reference your part time work on Foxestalk? That might explain why no fúcker has given you a job.

Now you have sent the form in call them and check they have recieved it! They will see you are serious about the job! The form was just like name/adress/typing speed/computer skills etc so nothing about the company. I attached it to the email so the guy should have it now so should be given to whoever is in charge of recruitment

I attached it to the email so the guy should have it now so should be given to whoever is in charge of recruitment Chase it up monday Lamby boy. Look keen, they make money from you getting in remember. The more keen you seem, the more they'll do the same to their customer. Edit: Also like has been mentioned, if you have the company name then do a little research incase you do get an interview.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 4 January 2013 Posted 4 January 2013 The guy with the billboard is too late - I'm sure somebody has done this before. Even if he was the first, and even if it was his last £500 (which I doubt), spending it on a billboard isn't THAT much of a great idea. People advertise on billboards every day (I know, I've seen them as I am a busy being a man about town y'see) it's not exactly novel. I'm no advertising genius, but if he wants some swanky marketing job, and I as hiring, simply whacking a billboard up wouldn't blow my socks off as innovative.

He has managed to get in the Daily Papers today with a picture of the billboard,I would say that's done the trick for £500.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 I would say that's done the trick for £500. Where does he work? Edit: not to say that he won't get a job off the back of this, he might. But it's certainly not original or all that innovative.
Rincewind Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 Not being funny but when researching the firm also do a scam search. I have one or two replies on admin type work. One place iun Leicester where I attended an interview I was told all I had to do was enter sales data from their staff onto a computer. I found out that others applying were expected to do a an induction of 12 hours door to door sales and others had not been paid for up to 3 months. Shattered my confidence for a while. Good luck anyway. As others have said if they are legit make it seem as if they are your first choice for a long term career. Eagerness even if BS impresses.
Rincewind Posted 5 January 2013 Posted 5 January 2013 With the marketing guy I would say he would be better volunteering for some organizaion and input his ideas into them. Some carities have paid roles in that sector. It will go on his CV and a bigger firm may notice the work he is doing or he could offer his services.
