Weather & Boro At Home

Just started in West London, very fine but settling. Roads are well gritted so no problem there but the sky looks full of the bloody stuff...... :(

I imagine it will have to be pretty severe to get the game cancelled, Sky will want it to go ahead even if the punters can't get there.

isn't there already a 12 page thread for this?

Its a white-out down here in Winchester, worst I've seen since moving down here, predicted to last all day. Football? No chance for Winchester City!!

Same here in basingstoke. I drove home just 5 hours ago from my mates. There was literally nothing on the roads. I've just looked out my window... What the Fuuuuck!

Still, if the games going ahead, I'm there!

Quite a lot of snow in mid Norfolk (also irrelevant).

Stroud (Gloucs) or Stroud (Kent)?

Other Strouds may be available which I'm ignorant of.

Gloucestershire! apologies for any confusion caused with my ignorant belief, that only one Stroud exists in this world! But yeah very heavy and ive been told its heading straight to the King power...

What happened to Stroud Fox? I'm sure she existed and wasn't just a figment of my imagination. Did Jake Shingler start stalking her and scare her off? :ermm: (Also completely irrelevant!)

I have seen a few replica kits being worn locally, so know there are a few supporters in town, wasn't aware any were on here though...

Stop pointing out inconvenient truths.

Acooling, I'm 3000+ miles away and am working throughout the duration.....I will, however, be watching it on T.V. Am I to assume that makes me a ****?

I'll be keeping an eye out for you, singing ya heart out throughout the match. Perhaps, parental permission permitting, you could take a banner with you saying 'if you're reading this on TV or you're not singing you're a ****'.

If you start work now you could have it all poster painted up and certified as fire safe.

It's on sky, let's all have a pop at the ones that can't go.

EDIT : Just to say that my house is actually IN Leicester and I choose career over City from time to time.

Pissing it down with snow in Guildford. If it's currently clear around te ground there's a good chance it goes ahead. All depends in the heavy snow forecast for later on.

it will be the same for both sides i suppose although that will not stop me feeling irked if we suffer the same fate as at ipswich a year back - sacrificed to the demands of sky in a farcical lottery

I E-Mailed fanzone about this last night and have received the following from that great person that is Jim:

Thank you for your email fanzone. We are confident the match will go ahead, the under soil heating is on, we have just had the gritters out in the car parks and surrounding areas and we do not foresee any problems.

We do also understand that the weather is due to change today at some point and with this in mind we will be monitoring the situation throughout the day.

We will make an announcement as soon as we can if we think the game is in danger but I must stress at this moment in time the game is not in danger and is definitely ON.

Kind Regards

Jim

Still weighing this up. Given how the snow is in other parts of the country (it's still rather heavy down here), I feel there is a real chance it will be called off. I almost wish they'd just call it off now and be done with it.

Call it off in case it snows? They'll be able to handle it I'm sure.

They won't call it off until it's a lost cause, and rightly so. If we can play it, it should be played. Only in England do we let a bit of snow ruin our lives. In every other country they just grit the roads, clear the pathways and get on with it. The undersoil heating should stop the snow from settling and the pitch freezing and the gritters and a bit of elbow grease (get the snow shovels out) will stop the surrounding areas from being impassable.
