The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Just wondering what the paths and roads are currently like in Leicester around the ground etc? Looking at the forecast http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2644668 it doesn't look like the temperature will go above freezing between now and then. With it being a Friday night as opposed to a Saturday lunchtime will make it colder. I suppose our only saving grace and possible hope is that it's on Sky, and we all know how they like showing Leicester in shit weather! In Doleville the paths are just covered over in snow and froze again last night making them very slippy! Thoughts?
banko71 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Very little snow on the ground in the city. Went by the ground about an hour ago and all looked fine.
ICECUBEREALG Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 not lucky forward to this, i am normally freezing at 7:45pm games as it is as my feet go really cold very quickly.... this is going to be horrible, but i suppose i better go... its now the point i have to otherwise my season ticket would not be worth it.
brighton78 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I'm a soft sod, so It'll be two pairs of trousers, two pairs of socks and about seventeen sweatshirts. Be good to win though,so I can award myself chips and a curry sauce on the way home
Finnegan Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 It should be dry and easy access. Just really, really ****ing cold. Layers time.
jonthefox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I'm a hard bastard and the cold weather doesn't affect me.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 It will be fine and will go ahead, it is on Sky remember..
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Author Posted 15 January 2013 It should be dry and easy access. Just really, really ****ing cold. Layers time. New Years Day, I looked out my window at home and thought it was warm. Just wore a t-shirt. I was regretting it at about 3pm! Makes me shiver imagining doing that again Friday!
Mack Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 The paths around here are like skating rinks. I would imagine the club will grit all around the stadium to ensure there is no embarrassing postponement.
StanSP Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Guess we'll have to see what happens! Sometimes the pitch can be perfect, but surrounding areas being dangerous for fans can have a game called off. It should be dry and easy access. Just really, really ****ing cold. Layers time. Snowing during the day on Friday though, so could ice up by 7pm, making travelling to the ground difficult.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Author Posted 15 January 2013 Like my mate said earlier, what's the point in having undersoil heating if you can't get fans into the ground?!
Webbo Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 It'll be nice and warm sat at home watching it on a stream.
StanSP Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 It'll be nice and warm sat at home watching it on a stream. PAP heaven!!
Jobyfox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I'm hard as well so it won't be cold enough for me. I'm thinking of going naked as a test of endurance!
promised land Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I think we have one of the best organised outfits regarding games going ahead in bad weather, remember a few years ago. The game against Newcastle was just about the only game played that weekend even including the top flight and it was put on Sky at the eleventh hour because of it. I'm pretty sure that was the game, correct me if wrong! Anyway I shall have a pair of snowboarding pants on, the only downside is your legs do get too warm! -6 C is what I have read for Friday night, snow could be back as well. It will be well gritted and cleared around the ground though. Brighton78, whatever you do don't wear two pairs of socks, as daft as it sounds it makes your feet colder as the air can't circulate, someone who worked all day in large freezers told me this. If you want warm feet get some thermal socks, cheap as chips and very warm.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 15 January 2013 Author Posted 15 January 2013 It'll be nice and warm sat at home watching it on a stream. Won't that be frozen too?
yorkie1999 Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Its gonna be Fvckin freezin..Glad i've got one of these http://www.keisapparel.co.uk/#product-100
kingfox Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 The Snow has gone, and thank goodness, we hardly get snow in Leicester do we so no surprise. It will just be - temperatures, so I will be wearing my Dad's boots.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I'm a hard bastard and the cold weather doesn't affect me. You won't be very hard with hypothermia jon
broughtonblue Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 Think the flask could make its first appearance of the season!!!!!
1964FOX Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I will be going with the Weller cold weather option.
shade Posted 15 January 2013 Posted 15 January 2013 I'm a soft sod, so It'll be two pairs of trousers, two pairs of socks and about seventeen sweatshirts. Be good to win though,so I can award myself chips and a curry sauce on the way home what do you eat if we lose?
