Loggy88 Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Why should Palace be allowed to have Zaha back on loan after they just sold him to United? Rule should be changed! I don't understand why clubs who sell players should be allowed to have them back on loan until the end of the season? In this case Wilfried Zaha is being sold by Palace to Man United for 15m and going back to Palace on loan until end of the season. How is this fair to everyone else in the championship? If Palace get automatic promotion and we don't as well as other clubs its not right. He has been a big part of their success and now they have sold him so that should be it. The rule has to be changed, you can't have your cake AND eat it!
NewburyFox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Don't really see the problem. It's just the same as any other loan.
linemakers Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 We were the first club to do this with Alan Smith and Arsenal.
foxfanazer Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 No problem as far as I can see. The two clubs have negotiated this and maybe united have paid a mil or two less for palace to take this option
NGoloMode Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 In a way its better that a player that they helped develop is helping them get promotion rather than a player Manchester United developed? Don't see anything wrong with it.
MGLCFC Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 So if Morgan was sold to say Newcastle, but they offered him back on loan for the rest of the season would we complain?
Babylon Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Would we care if it was us? No. Gives them a huge advantage though being allowed to keep the player, but to also having the money to spend on the team. You would have to question how committed or right mentally the player would be though. So if Morgan was sold to say Newcastle, but they offered him back on loan for the rest of the season would we complain? They can have Whitbread on the condition they don't loan him back. (I kid).
ithuriel Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 No problem here, though the player is not going to go and go for 50/50 challenges and will have his mind set on playing next season.
Raw Dykes Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 That's a paragraph, not a thread title. I can't see the problem. Palace and Man Utd have made a deal. I don't see how it's unfair at all. Effectively, for the rest of this season, it's as though the deal didn't even happen, as the player stays at the selling club. Where's the injustice? I don't want the rules to be changed. What if it's us next time? One day we could be in Palace's position. Can you imagine being a Palace fan right now and hearing people think it's unfair your club get to borrow a player they just sold? It's ridiculous.
The People's Hero Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 No problem here, though the player is not going to go and go for 50/50 challenges and will have his mind set on playing next season. Having seen a lot of Zaha, I doubt this would enter his mind on the pitch. He's very very driven. I still think he'll be an asset for Palace for the rest of the season.

leicesterisme Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Whats the problem? United can do whatever they want with their players if that means loaning them back to the team they've just bought off then that's exactly what they will do.
The People's Hero Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Judging by his twitter I would replace driven with 'really ****ing stupid'. Well, yes, that too. But a good footballer - and a hardworking one too.
cc_star Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 I don't care, if he becomes ManUtd's player it's up to them what they do with him, but as he's Palace's player they can make that a stipulation of sale and it's up to any buying club if they still want to buy him. If someone came in for Knocky, would we play hard ball & make loaning back a condition of sale? I'd like to think we would!
Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 The transfer fee is over inflated for a player who isn't even that good talented yes but no way commanding of a fee up to £15m
lcfcsnow Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 If he'd had a cap for the Ivory Coast instead of England he'd probably be going for 5 million. I'm glad he's going to Man Utd though hopefully they'll develop him without letting it all go to his head. Knockaert has had a better season, but I wonder how much he'd sell for?
AyewJoking Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 OP is a bit pathetic. Reminds me of Cardiff fans crying about us loaning Woods for 24 hours so he could play. If Palace finish above us, it'll be as champions. What happens if Zaha suffers a career ending injury between now and the end of the season, have Utd already handed over the cash?
dannythefox Posted 24 January 2013 Posted 24 January 2013 Palace probably wanted it in the deal its up to the seller at the end of the day, what a crap thread!
Loggy88 Posted 24 January 2013 Author Posted 24 January 2013 Disappointed by fans reaction, say Zaha goes on to score another 15/20 goals, and they get promoted and we don't, you'll change your minds then!!

They could keep him until the end of the season and sell him for the same or even more money
