Guest Col city fan Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 I simply don't think Pearson will be sacked. I could be wrong of course. But I have a feeling he's here next season too, wherever we finish. I think we all need to get used to it. My feeling (and it's just a feeling that's been there since he came here) is that the Thais have a two year plan with Pearson. As I said, I could be wrong of course, but I won't be at all surprised if he stays.

I hope you're right, it would show that they have more sense than half the morons on here calling for his head who think a manager can gain promotion in one full season from one of the toughest leagues to get out of.

dynamark Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 Bilbo I think you will find that us morons have an issue with the results and performance over the last 12 games.we were top of the league with a good squad playing some confident footy.I cannot see where the next goal is coming from.Pretty sure we had one shot in the first half last afternoon and schlupp had the second when he came on at about 75 mins. Its not good

The only thing tough about this year is that most teams are alike, poor. It will be a lot more difficult next season. We also won't have anywhere near as many STs should Pearson stay.
David Hankey Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 I simply don't think Pearson will be sacked. I could be wrong of course. But I have a feeling he's here next season too, wherever we finish. As I said, I could be wrong of course, but I won't be at all surprised if he stays. I'm sure you will be. If the Thais have an ounce of sense Pearson will go sooner rather than later. I see no point holding on to a manager who is not capable of getting this Club promoted. That was the whole idea of him coming back to finish "unfinished business" but he has been found wanting.
Captain... Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 so why wasn't sven aloud 2 years for promotion then it makes no sense. the owners are no better if they don't get rid of him and i also think they won't sack him because they have no balls to do so He should have been, that he wasn't was a mistake, or a desperate act of people looking at the finances. That Sven wasn't given that doesn't mean that NP shouldn't.
cambridgefox Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 NP holds player meetings after a every game where players talk about their performance etc. Apparently after defeats these meetings are more thorough... Everybody gets their ideas across and move forward with an agreed plan of action. It's a common management skill. There is nothing out of the ordinary for this to be happening today, apparently it always happens - As it does in business the world over, especially if things go wrong. These meetings must be getting longer and longer,if they become more thorough after a defeat, love t be a fly on the wall for this " high brow" meeting" I will score boss" "I will pass it to my own player boss" I will save it boss"

Lcfcman2010 Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 Arrrr Mr Hankey, ye of little faith. Stick with him til end of season. Re evaluate the situation then with time on our hands. Changing now will, IMO get us a quick fix for a manager, promotion or not it'll change again at the close season if that happened. Pearson, and the team has got us in the position and should have the rest of the season to get us back into the mix. If he doesn't, then by all means get rid.
jamesmilner Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 hes not been sacked is the word on twitter anyway .
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 hes not been sacked is the word on twitter anyway . Jeez well i suppose one win in eleven games isn't too bad
FourtyFour Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 he's not gonna go is he? at least warnock did the honourable thing. and those two words shouldn't come anywhere near each other!
RowlattsFox Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 he's not gonna go is he? at least warnock did the honourable thing. and those two words shouldn't come anywhere near each other! Warnock only left because he knew he couldn't reach the play offs, why would Pearson resign from a team in 7th place in the league. I'm sure he still he believes he can get into the playoffs.
Danizen Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 Jeez well i suppose one win in eleven games isn't too bad It could be so much worse. Have you kept up with Hinckley's results? Three points from thirty three games!
andysilv Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 hes not been sacked is the word on twitter anyway . Think this Twitter bloke needs better sources. Yesterday he said he was sacked!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 It could be so much worse. Have you kept up with Hinckley's results? Three points from thirty three games! Bloody hell I didn't know big Nige was their manager aswell
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 Think this Twitter bloke needs better sources. Yesterday he said he was sacked! That's the third time this season !
Merging Cultures Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 so why wasn't sven aloud 2 years for promotion then it makes no sense. the owners are no better if they don't get rid of him and i also think they won't sack him because they have no balls to do so I think Sven's team was under performing given the amount of money invested and the wages. Pearson's team is cheaper and therefore the owners can give him a bit more space to achieve promotion.

As I said, I could be wrong of course, but I won't be at all surprised if he stays. It would be great for us to see a job through. IF he's still here come the next game, then he & the players need to draw confidence in that and get the fvck on with competing better he's not gonna go is he? at least warnock did the honourable thing. and those two words shouldn't come anywhere near each other! Warnock was there as long as playoffs remained a prospect, the club having gone through an owner change is going through another one as the Bahrain investment group want to cash out & Warnock is not part of their plans. Warnock's departure would have been a negotiated end, just as it would have been if he was sacked... He's said for a long time he is to leave the club if playoffs aren't achievable and the latest defeat made them a realistic impossibility.
Monsell1976 Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 I for one can handle losing and no promotion this season and building for next year, and would be all up for sticking by the team and manager cause I support leicester city not man united, and I have supported them for long enough to see the good times and bad. What I can't handle is a manager giving the same excuses, week in week out and nothing changing, he is paid to manage, so sort it out. What doesn't help him is his arrogants, and telling the fans that if they don't like it don't come, and having a group of players who treat the supporters with the same contempt, by this I mean do they really think its acceptable for supporters to pay to watch the level of effort and performance week In week out, but they tell us they are confident of getting on track, but then play worse the next game. So I hope in this meeting they sort out the problem, and remember they are highly paid entertainers and professional footballers, so at Brighton they go out and give a level of performance the supporters deserve, win lose or draw, just as long as they try and show they care, and prove they are not just here for the money.
Guy Posted 2 April 2013 Posted 2 April 2013 I thought this was the main debate this time last season really re giving Pearson more time, etc! It's true though getting somebody new in now at this stage of the season as a quick fix would have been farcical, so in a way I'm glad Pearson's stayed put really to hopefully correct whatever invisible force has derailed our season overnight! Pearson will probably be given at least until the summer now and possibly next season too..... =despite the earth shattering disappointment of the past two months since he picked up his poisoned chalise MOM award. Onwards and upwards we can wearily try to say - and let's hope Brighton isn't a repeat of Barnsley!
