In truth I'm working class just like 97% of this forum.

Happy to be in the 3%. I would call myself professional class, so I am obviously pissing around if I only make it into Technical middle class.

Professional class is just something you've made up though.

There will be quite a few people who straddle the line between upper working and lower middle class on here, white collar professionals mostly. They could go either way, depending on how you define your classes, but for me you're not middle class until you're born into some degree of wealth and spend your summer in your family's country house on the med, rather than kicking a football around the local park like most of us probably did. If no-one in your family has ever owned a yacht or a decent boat then you're probably not middle class.

You reckon 97% of this forum is working class?

I generally see internet forums as a middle class thing, even a football one, computer literate people with office based jobs and smart phones, maybe that is an old fashioned view of the internet and the working classes.

I agree, plus its the values you have, your upbringing, the views you hold that also play a part, my dad was a postman my mum a cleaner and cook, I would say most would say they are 'working class' and thats how I was raised, even though I earn a good wage and have a mangerial job I would say I am working class.

It depends what point he's trying to make. If he wants to look all edgy and hip he's working class, when he's banging on about how travelled and life experienced he is or how successful his career is he's probably firmly middle.

According to the test I'm a New Affluent Worker.

Basically because I own my house I think - I'm anything but affluent, in fact I'm a skint pauper.

If I understand the meanings of the categories, I probably fit better into Emerging Service Worker.

An emergent service worker... Makes sense as I am one broke guy. Hopefully becoming a teacher will wedge me with a nice enough sum in the future.

How dare you.

The only thing seperating me from the Elite is a few trips to the Opera! It doesn't ask about Yachts or homes in France, or I would be in!!

NSS (No shit Shirlock)

Precariat

This is the poorest and most deprived class group. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

  • Tend to mix socially with people like themselves
  • Come from a working class background
  • Rent their home - over 80%

Awful internet connection on mama's yacht in the south of france so I can't do it... but I think I might be working class.

Well duh, if you're still using your mama's yacht and not got your own.

Povo.

Well being a student Its no surprise that I came as Emergent Service worker though If I did my home address it would be technical middle class.

Like others have said though, the class system isn't all the great as it implies certain groups are better than others etc

Established Middle Class

I think that's because I'm still friends with most of my friends from school......except they all went on to be a lot more 'successful' than me & I now get to hang around with the well-to-do. I'm sorry that I bring their ratings down!!

And nobody middle class says "cvnt" as much as I do.

Nonsense!!

Established middle class - Was I wrong to total the numerous properties I own?

There doesn't seem to be a class for the anti-social. I made it clear I socialize with no-one and it made no difference.

You could quite possibly be the world's first isolationist champagne socialist.

I don't like Champagne but I see what you mean.

surely an asocial cannot be part of any group and an anti-social socialst sounds like an oxymoron.
