Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Not sure about this. We could see at least one team with a record points score being relegated. It might require 55 points to be safe this season. This means points are more spread and the lower sides have taken those points from somewhere. A team could make the playoffs with high 60s. The usual rules don't apply this season. I bet sixth place does get 70. In past seasons you've needed around 72 normally around there i think. Honestly can't see us winning the last two games. I know the league is more tight this season but think we must win last two.
Happy Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 4 points will do it imo. However Bolton need 3 points now, but there goal difference is shite so they need to beat a team considerably to give them that cushion.
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Cardiff also have nothing to play for No pressure on them so they could put on a show, who knows Bolton have to get something
JonnyBoy Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 I can't see us beating Watford I really can't same, seen the quality of their goals today? such cool finishes No pressure on them so they could put on a show, who knows Bolton have to get something i see your point, could work either way

For this scenario to occur I'm assuming you think Cardiff will do Bolton? I'm not convinced, I think they'll get a point at Cardiff.
Bert Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Should've beaten them. They weren't very good. Hoofed it a lot.
ousefox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 How many other teams in the league would have 26 shots, 18 on target away from home and not win!?
indierich06 Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 didn't hear the Leicester fans at all on the radio, apart from after King scored?? Sang all game apart from after Palace's second goal when it went a bit flat.
Happy Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 For this scenario to occur I'm assuming you think Cardiff will do Bolton? I'm not convinced, I think they'll get a point at Cardiff. The best scenario we can hope for is a Bolton loss and us beating Watford. Then it definitely in our hands mathematically. If Bolton draw and we win it is still in our hands mathematically. If we draw at home to Watford and Bolton draw, then it isn't in our hands. We would have to win at Forest and hope that Bolton slip up at home to Blackpool. If we lose and Bolton win then Game over for the playoffs.
Guest ttfn Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Thought we were much the better side. Palace were so poor apart from Zaha.
johnny the fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Thought we were much the better side. Palace were so poor apart from Zaha. Yet they are above us..
sw_fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 The smoke bombs were wicked; especially after our second goal when everyone was singing 'We do what we want; we do what we want; We're Leicester City we do what we want' Our defence was shite, we lost everything in the air. If we play the ball on the ground we can be unplayable. Our two goals were very well taken and we don't seem to have any problems in midfield and attack. However the amount of times the ball was hoofed up front to Schlupp, the smallest man on the pitch, was ridiculous.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Lost everything in the air to a team who weren't that big. They hoofed it mainly as well
Guest ttfn Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 (A) Think we've cocked it up and i have to blame NP for today. Said lately he's been crap tactically and once again hw was today. Bringing Nugent on for Schlupp far too late and (B) i don't know hoe Knocky managed to stay on the pitch, did nothing in the second half. © Palace i thought were poor and there for the taking, quite cross we didn't win. (D) Do we ever ever practice defending set pieces? We're abysmal from them. Only the bar and Kasper stopper them heading more in. Was equally crap against bolton too. (A) and (B) are absolute nonsense, Knockaert was a real threat in the second period. © and (D) are spot on.
marbelladave Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Evening all, well that was interesting. Two good but out of form sides, both nervous as hell and both looking for a win, well mostly. It was a pretty open game and, biased as I might be, I thought we were just the better side. Two great goals and we really could have had one or two more, should have won to be honest. So why didn't we, the bloody defence! We were all over the place and committed two cardinal sins, both have been issues all season but today they were disastrous. Firstly we gave away far too many free kicks and corners and then, basically, struggled to defend them. The lack of decisiveness and composure in our box was even worse than usual, and it cost us. Best defensive record maybe, but best back 4, I don't think so.
Matt Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Don't know how the game went, I didn't listen, I haven't read any posts yet, I said pre-match that I think i'd be happy with a draw knowing deep down in reality when it happened i'd be somewhat slightly disappointed, i'm fairly happy with a draw I spose, shame results (i.e - Bolton) didn't go for us but we're still in the hunt, although am I right in saying it's not necceserily 'in our hands anymore'? We have to hope Bolton fuck up somewhere now? Anyway I said i'd be happy with a draw, I am happy with a draw, looking at the score and goals i'd presume we were always slightly on the back foot being pegged back? But then again despite thinking (And knowing) it's wrong, I still have this nagging feeling i'd rather us not go up, I have kind of got caught up in the 'We beat Bolton, we got in the playoffs, we draw to Palace albeit down to 7th, we're in the playoff hunt, there is a chance of us making it' hysteria, I have to question and feel - Do we really want to go up? I'm sorry to bring it up and sorry to question it but I simply can't ignore that 13 game bad patch - Although some people can ignore and forget it, I can't and fear if do go up.

An awful season in the Prem would still do us the world of good financially.

What benefit is there of us staying down here?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 (A) and (B) are absolute nonsense, Knockaert was a real threat in the second period. © and (D) are spot on. The subs did happen too late. Schlupp missed a couple of chances and actually looked a little behind in terms of though process as a few times he was played in with a dummy from Wood but didn't get near the balls. Nugent would have brought a different sort of link up and pace a bit sooner than when he was brought on. Don't think NP did enough to try and win us the game, lots of people were calling him to make changes before he did
Captain... Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 How many other teams in the league would have 26 shots, 18 on target away from home and not win!? All of our shots were shit though, we scuffed so many good opportunities or passed it straight to Speroni (Knocky did this a few times) the only composed finish was from King who had had some terrible shots up to that point, even for Wood's goal it wasn't a clinical finish Thought the ref was crap today gave a lot of fouls against us but ignored it when the Palace players mugged us, thought they were very dirty and some seriously nasty challenges going in, as well as constant pushing pulling and shoving, yet it seemed that whenever we tried to match them physically we were instantly penalised, one of these soft free kicks led to their opener, their second was just shit defending, rushed kick out from Kasper just brought the ball straight back and then we were just chasing shadows rather than setting ourselves. Was a frustrating game where we played too much hoofball and made too many mistakes, Schlupp summed our performance up, every time he did something good he did something bad to follow it up, both sides looked short on confidence to be honest. I thought Dyer was great today did well going forward but was excellent coming back and helping nullify Zaha, King and James were good in midfield, harrying chasing and setting attacks going, but there was just a lack of quality across the board today, nobody played awfully, but nobody really took control of the game.
Matt Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Are you kidding? What benefit is there of us staying down here? I just think i'd be a big embaressment, maybe even getting a lower points total than Derby should we go up, certainly looking back at that 13 game bad spell. I understand no matter when we go up a big job is on regards getting new players, rebuilding, strengthening but i'd hope to think we'd be atleast half way there when getting promotion I struggle to feel we're even half way there.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 I'd happily take a season getting beaten in the Premiership knowing that our financial status would be much healthier. Massive pre-season payment and parachute payment would be very beneficial for the club. Shame we didn't win today but getting a point after being behind twice isn't the worst result and there's still a chance of the playoffs. I'm keeping everything crossed, including my testicles. Which reminds me, I'm meant to be picking up some cigarettes for someone.
MooseBreath Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 Best defensive record maybe 3rd best Also, 4th best goals scored. How we've made such a mess of this season I still can't begin to figure out. I think only time and perspective will shine a light on just how much of a shambles we have become.
RowlattsFox Posted 20 April 2013 Posted 20 April 2013 In the context of a whole season we have picked up two decent points in last 2 away games, shame it might not be enough. If we miss out on playoffs it won't be because we've not beat palace away.
