Currently ringing around Old Trafford;

"Mancini, woah. Mancini, woah. We won our trophy back, and now he's got the sack".

Put half a smile on my face.

My mums partner, who I think loses football knowledge by the day just said:

"Good, he hasn't done anything there, if anybody else had that much money they would have won something"

Absolute fvcktard.

So the top three in the premier league will be changing managers this summer albeit for different reasons along with Everton making it 4 out of the top 6 or 7. I can guess the theme of next seasons previews.

Terrible manager, should have won the title and he bought shit players like Javi Garcia.. Jesus Christ

I think it's harsh.

He will leave with the fans best wishes though.

I left my FT to get some food, came back and thought I was reading the Knockaert thread! Heart sunk a bit!

Ridiculously harsh.

This does show why there'll never be another Ferguson, clubs are far too quick to go for the knee-jerk response of sacking a manager after one season without a trophy.

Pellegrini is going to need some luck.

I think that's a personality thing as much as anything else. Always got the impression that he's a prickly bugger and allegedly he's fallen out with a few people at the club. They were probably waiting for an excuse.

Still an awful decision though.

"Despite everyone’s best efforts, the Club has failed to achieve any of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. This, combined with an identified need to develop a holistic approach to all aspects of football at the Club, has meant that the decision has been taken to find a new manager for the 2013/14 season and beyond."

An identified need to develop a holistic approach? So he didn't agree to the structural changes City have made over the past year I presume?

His man management was lacking at times and was naive in Europe but he's a good manager. I highly expect he'll be taking over at Monaco next.

If Pellegrini takes over as expected, they'll do well in Europe but it's difficult to say how he'll handle the PL. (He did have a 75% win record at Real though!)

That's probably corporate jargon for he head-butted Txiki Bergirstain.
