Guest MattP Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 He missed a penalty for us, big deal. Does it make it more unforgivable because " the stupid w@nker chipped it " it's hardly as if he was doing tins of special brew before the penalty shootout and then ran up to it with his kegs round his ankles. I suspect that the success rate of that type of penalty is quite high, it makes no difference to me if he'd done that or tried to blast or place the penalty like Waghorn did. He msised, we didn't make it through to the final. Totally agree. The idea of the penalty was actually right, the keeper has gone to ground like he intended to send him, the problem was the execution in not chipping into the top half of the net.
Vlad the Fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 And the worst of all is, I'll have to stand up and clap the bastard in the home end on Saturday if he signs. You don't have to. You could stand there and shake your fist shouting '**** off you shit penalty taking but decent bastard.' Might warm things up where you are though.
Zapp Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 id rather a player go for a cheeky chip than smash it over some players feel the need to show that extra class to prove how cool under pressure they are (pirlo & Sergio ramos come to mind) if it went in so many would have been calling him the calmest person to have played for us, it didn't & he ended his Leicester city career. fine margins in football. 1 penalty can be define your career at a club as a hero or a failure. in fairness with so little attachment to us I suppose he thought the risk was worth taking to become an icon EDIT - Just to confirm I never think its worth taking the risk, if you wanna put it down the middle smack it as hard as you can so if the keeper does read it it might still go in, he can clearly take the abuse and gives it back (id probably do the same if I played for say... Huddersfield at the time and they gave me stick all the time for it)
ealingfox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Who we backing tonight then? Dour 0-0 leaving everybody unhappy, or a Watford win?
Dan Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Forest will win it 2-1. I'd absolutely love Deeney to score in a 0-1. I wonder how many of the Forest fans would worship him then
NewburyFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 @SkySportsPeteO: QPR star Charlie Austin facing lengthy spell out with shoulder injury + may face surgery. #QPR That should put pressure on 'Arry to spend in the next 24 hours.

He'll need at least a dozen new strikers to compensate for Austin's lengthy spell on the sidelines. No other QPR player has scored as many goals as him (15) this season. The next down the list is Matt Phillips with 3!
Guest MattP Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Does Seedorf think he's got the AZ Alkmaar job rather than AC Milan?
deejdeej Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Oh dear QPR lose their best, scrap that, ONLY source of goals.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 No Austin with Burnley Derby and Reading their next 3 games, Arry will have a busy day tomorrow.
Happy Fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Out for 2 months supposedly that is them out the title race but they where never in it poor Arry, looks like another deadline day with Pizza
KFS Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 There have been a couple of foreign loans coming in today. I'd rather our rivals make signings like that than sign someone like Rhodes, Wells etc who know how English football works. I'd say that if QPR sign that Milan striker to cover Austin, he'll have a torrid first few games. I'd be worried if I was a QPR supporter.

That deal with Belfodil is off, and their other supposed targets are also off, every bleeding club know that they need a striker and will bleed them dry of every penny.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Does Seedorf think he's got the AZ Alkmaar job rather than AC Milan? Strange appointment, used to be one of the biggest jobs in Europe not so sure now. Who else from England will he get?
Soar Fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Billy Davies is starting without a striker and playing Halford up there. Then leaves 5 strikers on the bench lol

Jobyfox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Whilst I would never rejoice about a player getting injured - could this help our cause a little? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9142136/
