FrankieADZ Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Billy is minging to be honest. Real rotter of a bloke hes the sort of bloke who'd have a fight with his own shadow if it didnt do what he wanted. Watford....well, they look a shadow of last season, utter garbage in fact
Guest MattP Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 'Executed properly'? There is no execution about it. It only goes in if the goalkeeper jumps out the way. That's not taking a penalty properly. That's hoping a goalkeeper will jump out of play. The only reason anyone would take a penalty like that is to take the piss. Only through arrogance. Seriously, are you lot all high? Yes executed properly. That means if you chip it into the intended area you score. The intended area for this is the top half of the middle of the goal, so if you put it there you have executed it properly and you score. There is reason why this penalty has been taken so many times and very rarely is it missed. You just have to take it when no one else expects it and execute the kick to the right area. Sergio Ramos and Andrea Pirlos spring to mind in world cups, it was so outrageous at the times they did it no one expected it and they executed it to perfection and both scored.
CosbehFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 That game was all about Reid. Only player of quality on there. Quite sad (not being spiteful here) to see Watford's three best players of last season on the bench at the end looking shattered. Abdi is hell of a player and it's never nice to see a player struggle on his comeback from injury. As for Davies, the guy is just a t**t. It's gonna end ugly at Forest eventually.
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Apparently none of our players would get into that Watford side. Dear me. Their defending actually makes me want to throw the TV out the window because make no mistake, Forest have one player and that's Reid. Though, surely any of their strikers are better than starting Halford up front.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Dyche having a little dig at Forest's spending. Cry me a river Sean. Or is it Shaun? Shawn?
CosbehFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Dyche having a little dig at Forest's spending. Cry me a river Sean. Or is it Shaun? Shawn? I used to like him but he's slowly becoming a broken record. Makes Nige's zero media personality so refreshing but apparently to some that makes a nobber.
johnny the fox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 18,000 at forest.. didn't look that many there, they are massive you know.

Not if the goalie doesn't jump out the way you don't. If you whack it in the top corner no goalkeepers getting it. Taken so many times? Hardly. It's attempted by a cocky few who think their god's gift to football. Maybe Pirlo had a good reason to think that but it was still nothing more than an attempt to look really clever. If it always works why does Pirlo usually not take it like that? Why do regular penalty takers almost never take it like that? Is it because maybe it's extremely risky and pretty unnecessary if you're talented enough to find a corner? Ask Matt Le Tissier or Alan Shearer if they would take penalties like that I can't even believe I'm having this debate, it's absolutely ludicrous to say chipping a penalty is a good idea.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Sooner kermogant retires or ****s off back to France the better, fed up of hearing about him and scoring against us. He's moved on and so have we.

The fact that Davies has felt the need to play Halford ahead of them speaks more for the poverty of his tactical use of them than anything else.

If the goalie doesn't jump out the way? You are such a prat. Goalies almost always commit to diving one way or another, they're more likely to save one into the corner than down the centre, because they're more likely to be going the right way for it, not standing still. With Kermorgants penalty, the idea was fine, Marshall dived, the connection just wasn't quite right. I don't remember anyone criticising Waghorns penalty despite it being the sort that keepers love to face - not particularly far to the corner and at a lovely height. Get over it.
Super_horns Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I don't think we have 3 strikers in the squad - let alone to bring on! Got Brighton next..then you guys. TBH I am not sure why we brought on a half fit Abdi when we were out of the game as such - he isn't exactly one to shore up the midfield.

I don't know where to start with this. Just whack it in the top corner everytime? Why didn't I think of that, I would never have missed a penalty. Why doesn't Pirlo do it every time? Do you really need that explaining? You're mentally outsmarting the keeper when you do it, how many keepers stand still on a spot kick? None. It takes massive balls to try it, but the reward is massive when you pull it off.

He's moved on and so have we. he only seems to score against use when we boo him, maybe if we cheer him he wont score, didnt fo a good number of appearances he played for us
JonnyBoy Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 are we seriously only getting 2002 tickets? why when they wont fill the ground? takes the piss
ScouseFox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Bloody hell, Dyche is really starting to get on my tits.
lancyclaret Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 As a Burnley fan, I am also getting fed up of Dyche banging on to the national media about Burnley being cash-strapped compared to the other contenders in the top six. I think he likes being the underdog but is secretly "pi**ed" off that he has received very little backing in the transfer market from Burnley's stingy directors. Dyche started at Burnley 15 months ago and has only been allowed to sign one player (Ashley Barnes) for a fee. Dyche has performed miracles but he must realise this is about as far as he can take Burnley on a shoestring budget. I expect him to get head-hunted along with Ings and Trippier, who will sign for a PL club in the summer even if we do go up - Dyche is a miles better manager than Eddie Howe. Back to mid-table about 11th or 13th next season for us.
sbfox Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 No it's not end of, because that's a pile of shit. If he practised them that way it's because he was practising trying to be cocky, not practising the perfect penalty. Practicing trying to be cocky? That's a new one... Either way, it happened, its over. Most of us have moved on. Our famous playoff moment is now due to another Frenchman, rather than Kermo.
AKCJ Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Adel Taarabt has signed for AC Milan on loan from Championship side QPR What has he done to deserve that?
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 I can see us take the top spot followed by QPR second and Forest sneaking up via the play offs, if its not Forest then maybe Reading. Not a bad shout, Just think Stranger things have happened =D

After Austin's injury I'd be more tempted to go for us top, Burnley 2nd, and then it's a toss-up for me between Derby and F*****. If I had to pick one, I'd probably say the red shite just about pip it in a really slimy performance and the Premier League gets infected with Billy Davies' taint.
ADK Posted 30 January 2014 Author Posted 30 January 2014 Still think it would be cool if all 3 east midlands got promoted.
