Guest Bilo Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Are Watford not all that good, then? I thought their model made them the next Barcelona.
Xen Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Mate, you've been banging on about this for years - we're not going to change our opinion. Fact is that's HOW he took penalties, he practiced in training that way and was the way he thought he'd score in that match. End of. Pretty certain I remember hearing that he used to be our best penalty taker in training, always smashing them into the bottom corner. Which only serves to make him look even more stupid for trying to chip it.
Corky Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Watford have been a shambles since the Cox goal, fvcking hell.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 This is one of the worst 5-goal games I've ever seen. Both sides look like they could barely pick their noses let alone a pass. Ultimately this is going to be won by Forest with a fantastic bit of play by Reid, who for me is the division's stand out player. Edit: 6 goals.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Shame Watford's imaginary train station can't play centre-back.
Lionator Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Don't know what to make of this game. If we don't put 4 past both of these then we've done poorly.
KFS Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Fawaz blowing kisses, Billy just being a clown. Forest make me want to throw up.
Webbo Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Adel Taarabt has signed for AC Milan on loan from Championship side QPR
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Billy is minging to be honest. Real rotter of a bloke
Corky Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Fawaz blowing kisses, Billy just being a clown. Forest make me want to throw up. Thank fvck for Nigel Pearson, who does the job quietly without making it a circus act.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Don Goodman still banging on about Almunia punching the ball. It had no bearing on the game. It's not like Forest's goals came from any real pressure caused by his punches.

If he practised them that way it's because he was practising trying to be cocky, not practising the perfect penalty.

Hope we go up so we get some decent commentators on our Sky matches, but probably we'll be the game that Quinn, Neville, Provan are all on holiday and he's the stand in.

One of the most overrated and laziest players I've seen. Had one good season at Championship level when QPR won the League. A real definition of 'luxary player'.
Carl the Llama Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Watford crumbled horribly there, I was embarrassed for them by the end. We clearly need to keep an eye on Reid against Forest. Watford I'm not even close to concerned about.

I flicked onto Sky Sports 3 (!) last night for Napoli v Lazio. I turned off when I heard Don Goodman co-commentating. What are his qualifications for that?
Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Because he chipped it down the middle. Corner is irrelevant as you are planning to score whatever side he goes. He could have blasted it high of course, but then you can also sky it. As Flair says, when that kick is executed properly it scores virtually every time. 'Executed properly'? There is no execution about it. It only goes in if the goalkeeper jumps out the way. That's not taking a penalty properly. That's hoping a goalkeeper will jump out of play. The only reason anyone would take a penalty like that is to take the piss. Only through arrogance. Seriously, are you lot all high?
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Gonna put a cheeky tenner on us, forest and derby to go up... "I got a feeling"

Kitchandro Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 So what did he think then? If I chip this then there's a good chance I'll miss, be vilified and we'll lose but fcuk it, I fancy it anyway? Makes no difference to me, as I've said the percentage of penalties that have been taken like this and scored is quite high in my opinion. No, he thought 'I'll be so fvcking cocky everyone will worship me'. In other words he was more interested in showing off than getting the job done. The percentage of penalties blasted into the corner is much higher, I think you'll find. You don't see many missed with a chip simply because there aren't many taken like that.
Leicesterpool Posted 30 January 2014 Posted 30 January 2014 Gonna put a cheeky tenner on us, forest and derby to go up... "I got a feeling" I can see us take the top spot followed by QPR second and Forest sneaking up via the play offs, if its not Forest then maybe Reading.
