Ashley Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Like the thread in main sub forum section I do not claim to be 'ITK'. This is from the same person who gave Paddy Agyemang the information of Darius Vassell signing(feel free to look the topic up people slated Paddy and the signing of Vassell from what I can remember). Anyway here goes Dwight Gayle IN, swap for Vardy Tongo Doumbia IN

Wymsey Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I like D. Gayle, similar to Vardy (in terms of 100% commitment) but he's been more effective - scored way more goals. So would be a great signing,
Narborough_fox Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Here's the Vassell thread if anyone was looking for it (http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/69087-darius-vassell/)
RowlattsFox Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Not seen much of gayle, did he play against us because I can't remember him. But he did score a few goals, still pretty raw at this level but younger than vardy. Doumbia looked good early in the season, and is the type of player we need which at least Pearson has identified this. Didn't see much of him towards the end though? Was he injured?

Happy Fox Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 The reason why it could go in our favor is because we are offering Vardy to them who truth be told would be a competent striker at that level.
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Doumbia's only made 25 appearances for Wolves. Would Pearson sign him? I must say I'm doubtful about it. Unless he's been injured for part of the season of course. Then I'd reconsider. EDIT: Think I may have provided everyone with wrong info, damn you Wikipedia, says on their website he's made 35 appearances. Sorry.

Doumbia made 35 appearances in the league. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/shared/bsp/hi/football/statistics/players/d/doumbia_423466.stm
Will1981 Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Doumbia absolutely bossed the midfield in our 2-1 defeat away at Wolves last season would be a solid signing, never seen Gayle play.
ousefox Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Out of interest, by what date were virtually all our signings done last season? James/De Laet/Vardy...remember them being early but can't remember how early
Ric Flair Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I'd be pleased with both but I doubt both will happen. Gayle is worth £4 million apparently and Vardy has been the pits this season so surely we'd have to pay some decent wedge plus him for Dwight? Doumbia is the sort of player we desperately need, he'll have his suitors but there's no reason we couldn't get him.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I remember the other day Watson that somebody said it was before today's date when talking about last year.

Pretty sure he was injured for part of the season, remember talking to a Wolves mate about him before the King Power match.

James/De Laet/Vardy...remember them being early but can't remember how early 16th May for James and De Laet - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18084304 18th May for Vardy - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18109906
Harry - LCFC Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Knockaert was done on the 7th of August. Was anyone signed later than him? I don't remember.
Libertine Dream Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Can't see it personally. Posh either keep hold of players until their contract runs down or sell them for quite a high price. They don't let players go cheap and Vardy for Gayle is cheap. Would be delighted with both though
Dan Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 I doubt this though - We can't afford Gayle surely? I read the other day their chairman has slapped a £10mil price tag on him.

James/De Laet/Vardy...remember them being early but can't remember how early James and De Laet were already done by now, can't remember when we got Vardy. Knockaert was early August, though.
WhenYourSmilingLCFC Posted 22 May 2013 Posted 22 May 2013 Hope your sources have got this right. Gayle wont expect much wage wise, if Beckford, Wellens, Gallagher etc leave it frees up quite a bit of money. As for Doumbia, would take him anyday of the week. Him or Trotter for me would fit the bill.
