Fox92 Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Not sure if Liverpool fans should be crying. They probably won't win the league now but the aim was to get Champions League football again and they've done that. Finishing second is a good achievement in my opinion and Rodgers has done a great job. Winning the league was/would be an added bonus.

I do see that but they were five points clear with three to play, on a storming run and having beaten Man City, three more wins would've done it, it was a fantastic chance to create history.
Bryn Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Suarez off ya think? Not a chance, they're still going to get second.

Finishing second is a good achievement in my opinion and Rodgers has done a great job. Winning the league was/would be an added bonus. It would've been only the first time in 24 years that they could've lifted that trophy again - they were in such a good position and have been playing great, entertaining football this season. Heartbreak central in and around Liverpool tonight - you just have to look at Suarez' and Gerrard's face and listen to Jamie Carragher holding back the tears, trying to analyze the game calmly in order to realize how much that trophy would've meant to the Scousers.
ScouseFox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 don't get why now is the time for crying like. last week maybe. or next week probably. but they're still top and will still win the league if city **** up and won't win the league if city don't. pretty similar to the situation at the start of the evening. unless players and fans alike all genuinely thought they'd overturn a 10 goal gd in two games, which if they did they are a bit on the soft side. probably why they're crying.

It means that Man City will have to lose a game. Liverpool could have won it if City drew but not now. They need City to lose.
ScouseFox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 It means that Man City will have to lose a game. Liverpool could have won it if City drew but not now. They need City to lose. well yeah obviously, but if we're being honest they're going to win them both, they were always going to win them both and liverpool lost the league when gerrard fell over last week. that's when he should've been crying.
AKCJ Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Not like Mourinho to be arrogant "If i wanted an easy fairlytale then I would choose an easy league".
NewburyFox Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Not sure if Grandad is in a pub somewhere drinking himself into a coma or curled up in the foetal position in his room surrounded by Gerrard and Suarez pictures bawling his eyes out.
Jimothy Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Man City have got two home games left! He was being sarcastic! In reality, Liverpool needed Man City to lose one of the last two anyway, because of the huge difference in goal difference. Suppose if you want to look on the bright side for Liverpool fans, they're still in the same boat, they need Man City to lose one.
Nalis Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Still not convinced this is over, Aston Villa are one of the most unpredictable teams in the league and Big Sam will relish the role of party pooper with a team set up to park the bus and counter.

ramboacdc Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 as much as i hate to say it. i think thats it now. title will go to eastlands and all man city fans will be bloody insufferable. cant wait to stuff them home and away next season

ramboacdc Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Mate, if you think City fans are going to be bad then what about Liverpool fans? partially biased on that. i said in the other topic my dad and sister are liverpool fans. there are even photos of me as a child in a liverpool kit when i was a toddler. Got given the choice of leicester or liverpool when i was younger and chose leicester. scouce fans are bad but gotta say they have stayed loyal. man city struggled to fill maine road, then got their millions and can somehow sell out the etihad?! pfft.

Man City averaged 29k in the third tier, and 33k in the first division. They've also taken thousands away for years. They've remained very loyal.
DennisNedry Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Leicester City win then parade, Selby wins Snooker Champ, now Liverpool get shafted! What a fantastic few days of sport this has been

They've remained very loyal. i take your point there but still stand by they spent a bloody ton and so far have only won 1 league title by GD and not made a huge impression in europe. Back in the days where they came back into the prem i did route for them but how many moons ago was that now? it may be also because now every fair weather united fan is jumping on their bandwagon now hoping they win it instead of liverpool. The everton/city game on saturday was a joke. liverpool cheering on everton and united cheering on city?! i'm all up for friendly football rivalry but i would never cheer on a fierce rival just to spite another rival. i would be hoping for the drabbest 0-0 draw ever played.

Donut Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Id much rather Man City win the league than Liverpool so this result is fantastic.
Grandad. Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 You don't deserve to win the league with defending like that and conceding the amount of goals we have this season. I am so proud of Liverpool this season though, the transformation in our club has been amazing, this isn't a one off season either. Rodgers has a plan and a system in place where I truly believe he will take us back to the top of English football once again. I can take all this piss taking, that doesn't bother me. I love my football club just as much as anyone could love a football club, I'm not embarrassed to say I cried my eyes out at the end of that game, we've gone top of the league with one game to go and I'm crying, that is football for you. Credit to Crystal Palace, they came back brilliantly and seen we were there for the taking! Defensively we need a huge amount of working on, Johnson should probably be moved on, Skrtel is nowhere near commanding enough for us, he should be in charge and the leader of that back line, Sakho could be brilliant and he is the one I think we need to stick with but right now Agger should be playing and Flanagan is probably the only one who didn't put a foot wrong tonight but you can't be playing him left back. If anyone watched the game, the turning point was Coutinho, he had a chance to square the ball and give it to Suarez for a tap yet he chose to shoot, keeper saved it, wasted the corner and they made it 3-2 within 90 seconds. Lucas is done, he clearly can't play in the same midfield as Steven Gerrard, doesn't have the fitness that Henderson has and it's no coincidence we have been a poorer side in the last three games without Hendo! Lucky to leave Norwich with 3 points, lost to Chelsea and drew tonight. Allen has potential, needs to work on his strengthening. Sterling is going to be a world class player, I honestly do think that as well. Suarez and Sturridge are going to be the strike force next season, off load Aspas, bring in a quality striker to put pressure on Suarez and Sturridge and also have Borini back from Sunderland to sit on the bench and is another option. Victor Moses can kill himself for all I care. Anyway, you don't want to be reading all this drivel from a Liverpool fan on a Leicester City forum but lads, Liverpool are back, believe that!
Grandad. Posted 5 May 2014 Posted 5 May 2014 Where's Lofty? Hope he's alright, I don't want him to feel as if Liverpool had just lost the title tonight. Even using my name on here to speak about me? Obsessed.
