purpleronnie Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Surely they wouldn't offer that much, seems insane.
glenny_fox Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 I'd snap their hand off for that sort of money for him! you could easily replace him for that sort of money with plenty spare to get a decent striker whilst they're at it.
Dan Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 I'd rather he go to Barca or Bayern, probably even Man Utd. I think he'd learn more there, Real have a habit of buying up talent and just hording it. But I'd sell if I were Spurs. One player doesn't make a team avd you could turn them in to a comfortable top four side with 85m. It's a staggering amount of money. Agree fully. Saw a cracking article on Real Madrid recently pretty much saying it's all about the money with them rather than anything to do with their history (although worded far better than that).
Jordan Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 That's an insane price tag, but I wonder how long it would take for Spurs to get the full £85m, or just how Real Madrid plan on financing this deal.

Not hard for them to find some iffy funding if they have too. They generally pay up front these days, certainly did with Ronaldo, sure Spurs would demand the same given how Jewish they are.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 How silly would they be if they rejected that (though we all know they wouldn't), Bale goes out first game of the season, snaps his leg and never plays the same or at all again. If it was offered it'd be a no brainer.
Frost Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Anything over £45m would be crazy. Can't see Madrid offering anywhere near that.
Dan Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 £85mil though You can buy not far off world class players for £20mil if you look in the right places, it's a no brainer, £85mil for one player, other than Messi (who the loss of genuinely would ruin Barcelona's team), is utterly ridiculous.
Guesty Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 I'd sell in an instant. I'd laugh if they don't and he breaks his leg on the first day of the season.
Finnegan Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Not hard for them to find some iffy funding if they have too. They generally pay up front these days, certainly did with Ronaldo, sure Spurs would demand the same given how Jewish they are. lol lol !!!!!!!!!!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 The lack of champions league football will mean many £20 million players will turn their noses up. I don't see that as a problem. It's not impossible to find excellent players that'd be adept at CL level for below £20 million. A huge fee doesn't necessarily mean a success.
Dan Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 If anything it can often work the other way seeing as the emphasis will be on Bale completely for a while. He'd be under serious pressure. Can't stand Real Madrid. Absolute joke of a club.
Fox92 Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Imagine having an £85million player on one side, and a £80million player on the other side !
whoareyaaa Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 You have to take 85million the only player worth that sort of money is Messi. Bale should be valued at 40-50million tops.
Guest MattP Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Imagine having an £85million player on one side, and a £80million player on the other side ! And still losing the league to a side with 7 players from the youth team.
Fox92 Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 And still losing the league to a side with 7 players from the youth team. Oh yeah mate, I'm not disagreeing with that... I like the use of youth systems, which is why I like Crewe and West Ham. I was just laughing because its like something from a game. No players are worth that much.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 Isn't this all to do with Florentino Perez trying to keep Real fans on side anyway?
AKCJ Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 I'd snap their hands off for half of that and ask for Di Maria to come the other way. Absolutely crazy offer.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 June 2013 Posted 11 June 2013 No way they'd pay that much. If Spurs can keep Bale and bring in a decent centre forward I reckon they're a good each way bet for the title. People are talking up Arsenal as challengers but Spurs were hot on their heels. With the uncertainty around United, Chelsea and City who knows? Worth Bale sticking around one more season IMO
Captain... Posted 11 June 2013 Author Posted 11 June 2013 I'd sell him for 5 million, Welsh diving cvnt That would make you a shit business man. I appreciate everyone saying sell, but who would you get in place? Di Maria has been mentioned, maybe Benzema, or even kaka as part exchange, but would they go? When I'm sure any champions league team would be interested in them. The thing is you could get a number of very good players in with 85 million to spend. But the difference between a Bale, a messi or a Ronaldo is that they are irreplaceable. You could have a squad full of great players, but the world class players can win games single handed. Without a world class player spurs ain't getting in the champions league. They have had some quality players to play with Bale, modric, van de vart, the current crop are decent a couple of additions and one of the three established top four failing under their new manager, they will finish top four. I do think if they keep Bale they will get a champions league place, the thing is whether they stand to earn more than 85 by qualifying for the champions league.

Worth Bale sticking around one more season IMO Spurs bottled it, again. They were several points ahead of Arsenal and messed up again. This, is why they're far from title challengers at the moment.
