Waghorn's had a good start to pre-season and with Beckford gone I reckon it's about time to start counting goals scored in friendlies.

Have we had less pre season friendlies this year than normal?

We've only won 3 in the last 38 (or something like that), don't want too many morale-boosting defeats before the new season.

Really? I'm hopeful that he can play as well as he did early last season, very impressed by his first few games.

Were you at the game then?

Sorry meant Young's MOTM

Nope. No subs used.

That's a shame, I really want this kid to be involved. If not then loan him out and get him some first team experience. Everyone raves about him within the club.

Vardy and Danns stood out the most from me. Whitbread looks like he's such a has been. Waggy looked very strong and sharp.

Interesting to see what side plays tomorrow. Virtually our whole defence played today considering Bakayogo doesn't seem like he'll be starting after one session.

Logan

Moore - Sesay - Taft - Schlupp

Knockaert - James - Drinkwater - Dyer

Wood - Nugent

with Bakayogo replacing Nuge after 60 mins or so and Jeff up front? Then guys like Pier, Gally and Panayiotou on the bench.

Voted man of the match

Well done to him and everything but it'll I'd be expecting this to be little more than a base for him to build from if he's going to do anything at this club.

Interesting to hear that a number of players who didn't feature much last season are impressing in pre-season. It's good to see players having the right attitudes and wanting to earn a place in the team even if they know they aren't first choice.

Good to hear that some of the peripheral players did well but at the end of the day it's a 1-0 win over Port Vale in a pre-season friendly - I'm not sure you can really read anything into this evening's team or the performance. Even those who might be leaving are likely to feature as the club will want them fit and in the shop window as it were.

The truth about pre-season is that the results really mean fook all its all about the fitness. The reality is that if we lose, its doomsday but if we win, it means fook all.

Exactly - a lot of top sides actually lose many of their pre-season games.

Remember the pre-season we destroyed peterborough at their ground? Haven't won there since.
