Anthony Gordinho, the younger brother of Kaizer Chiefs defender, Lorenzo, is currently on trial with English club, Leicester City.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder, who recently left Kaizer Chiefs’ youth set-up to move to Ajax Cape Town’s, is currently trying to earn himself a contract with the Championship side, having spent this week training with their U21s.

Gordinho’s presence in Leicester was confirmed to the Siya crew by the player’s representative, Ryan Hartslief, who said that he’s been doing well up to now.

Hartslief explained, “He is doing very well and looks like a good prospect. If the lad can spend a season in the UK I really believe that he can make the grade. We will see how he goes for him.â€

Anthony, like his older brother, Lorenzo, has both a South African and Portuguese passport making it easier for him to make the switch to Europe should the opportunity arise.

Having seen his sibling recently break into the Amakhosi first team under Stuart Baxter, Anthony will be hoping to earn some plaudits of his own on British soil.

How's this lad doing?

How many have they got left to play?

Top 11 secure the very top league status don't they?

Would it be immoral if we did secure promotion early, to play say Moore, Knockaert and Drinkwater in the last few games and give A few U21 first team experience?

Everyone wins, we stay up, players get experience, but is that pushing the fairness of the competition?

Development Squad defender James Pearson has joined Sky Bet League 1 side Carlisle United on loan until the end of the 2013/14 season.
The promising 21-year-old has impressed with some energetic displays at right-back for Steve Beaglehole’s Under-21s side this term, but can also feature as a centre-half.

He joins the Brunton Park outfit as they look extend the two-point gap between themselves and the League 1 drop zone.

Pearson will be in line to make his Football League debut for the 19th-placed Cumbrians when they travel to FA Cup semi-finalists Sheffield United on Wednesday evening.

The all-action defender starred for the Foxes in recent victories away to Newcastle United and Fulham in the Barclays U21 Premier League - captaining the side against the Magpies.

So he wasn't just signed because of who his dad is! Hope he does well, but also hope it doesn't weaken our U21 promotion bid

nice to see hopper's back, hopefully him and cain and a few others can get a game or two when/if we are sure of getting promoted or winning the league

Cain hasn't even had a look in at Mansfield, shame.

hmm it's a shame as he really has looked decent in the BPL u21s. but i guess that just proves the beliefs of it not actually benefitting the players significantly.

It's about time LCFC put the U21 highlights on Foxes Player! I'm pretty sure they must record most of the games as I've seen goals included in goal of the month.

Would be nice to get to see highlights/ goals especially today as it sounds like it's been a cracker!

Does anyone know where to find the league table? Or have any info as to how far away we are from getting into the top division?

Won 1-0, smashing it at the mo, 5 wins in a row I think. Genuine possibility of top 4 which I think means Europe next year?!

Got to make us favourites for the World Cup?

There's no European qualification in under 21s.

You may be getting confused with the FIFA Youth League which is open to Champions League teams only.

Ah right, my bad. Just seen the top 4 go into a play-off instead.

U21s can't stop winning at the moment.  Really good to see.

It bodes well for the future when our academy kids are getting wins against some of the top academies in the country.  Huge credit to the academy players and the staff.

The top 4 had better watch their backs... 5 W's on the trot.

I think the Leicester city development squad (aka reserves) have been doing soo well that some of the youth players should be given a chance to play in the last few games of the season!

Just to see how they play against the main clubs of the championship to see how they cope just in case there is a chance that there good enough to preform in the prem next season!!!

It could save us a lot of money in the transfer window baring in mind we have got the option of a 25 man squad in the prem and this season pearson has only used 18 diff players!!!

What do you think people?
