Corky Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Sounds like a good decision to sell never seen a team improve like ours by selling players rather than buying players We're the only club to actually improve positions by getting rid of our best players who happen to big names with "attitude".
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Just heard Stringer interviewing Pearson on 'The Boot Room'. What the fuss all about? Stringer asked pertinent questions. Pearson answered them very well I thought. Good interview, both parties doing their job.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Stringers alright. He just wanders into that "bit of a dick" category sometimes. He seems better than the commentators I hear snippets of on Radios Derby and Nottingham when tuning into RL.
Fox92 Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Listened to his interview, a few things I found interesting... "Wasn't getting enough football" "I had a good idea that it was coming to the end which was a shame" "Good couple of seasons at Leicester, scored some good goals, good memories, lads were good" "Not left on any bad terms" "Mood in the camp, well, there are players that don't want to be here"
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 By the sounds of it, he just wanted to play and wasn't being played. And a few don't want to be there... Big deal..

kingfox Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Seems Gally and Danns in particular might be getting frustrated. If anybody is going out on Monday, it will be them two probably.
Bert Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 By the sounds of it, he just wanted to play and wasn't being played. And a few don't want to be there... Big deal.. He alluded to Gally a few times. Pretty obvious. But that's gonna be the same in 95% of clubs that players aren't going to be happy if they aren't playing. Honest assessment from Marshy though, wish him all the best. Nice to hear he didn't leave on bad terms too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 This thread, for me, yet again shows just how easily people jump to big conclusions. And I just don't get the Stringer hate. He can be a bit of a dick sometimes, but the anti-feeling toward him? I don't get it.

Mack Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 So his best mate Gallagher is pissed off. No shit Sherlock! Maybe if he was willing to take a pay cut to move he would be playing every week?
ADK Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Nobody is forced to be here. They could all request termination of their contract and I bet Nigel would be only too pleased.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Bugger - I knew I'd forgotten something! I was going to tune in but clean forgot. Was quite curious about what NP had to say about Terry Robinson? Could one of you gentlefolk enlighten me?
Fox92 Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 So his best mate Gallagher is pissed off. No shit Sherlock! Maybe if he was willing to take a pay cut to move he would be playing every week? Exactly! But like Steve Walsh said, there's too many players who are happy just taking the money (in general).
Mack Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Bugger - I knew I'd forgotten something! I was going to tune in but clean forgot. Was quite curious about what NP had to say about Terry Robinson? Could one of you gentlefolk enlighten me? He said that the relationship is "fine" and that it was the club's decision to restructure and as the Manager it was his job to work within that. He also said he had "no problem" with the DOF. So he said nothing basically. He also made out that Shakespeare was pulling Stringer's leg over the Marshall transfer and not knowing anything about it.
Jace Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Yeah I'm sure there are players that don't want to be at the club why don't they put in a transfer request then? Probably because they don't want to terminate their contract and agree terms with a shitter club on less money. Good on Jermaine Beckford at least spoke up when he wanted to leave for football reasons not just sit and bitch and moan behind the scenes waiting for pay day.

Tielemans63 Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Thanks Mack / Fox92 Sounds like he said exactly what I expected him to so I've probably saved some time!
Guest TheBear Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 The bloke is an over excited geek! Stringer needs to realise he has to be more professional, like the club are gonna reveal a transfer before its confirmed? He on this planet? He needs to realise these people in the club aren't his friends and he isn't working on dispatches or panorama!

Good point about JB & fair play to the guy. Tbf Danns probably thinks he can work his way back into the side but Gally has no chance and he knows it. He's not doing anything wrong taking what he's entitled to but surely a professional footballer with a modicum of professional pride would want to be an important part of a team?
bluesbrothers Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 I honestly dont give a damn that Marshall has gone. I was there at Barnsley away where he put in a dismal performance, and capped it with the pathetic attitude of walking to take a corner when we were chasing the game, then giving some back to his own fans when he got some stick.I'd normally be willing to forgive and forget, but that seemed to be the turning point when he dropped out of the team, expressed no will to regain his place in the line up and ultimately expressed his desire to leave. To do that in response to what is, in my eyes, the justified anger of fans at his attitude in ONE game is pathetic, and I have no sympathy for him. Simply put, he couldn't take the criticism on the chin, sulked and threw his toys out of the pram. He's a player with huge potential and cracking goals in him, but I'm glad he'll have no future involvement with Leicester City. Good riddance to someone who has become poison to the hard work ethic we all want to see.

He can be a bit of a dick sometimes, but the anti-feeling toward him? I don't get it. what don't you get? the fact that stringer, a supposed leicester fan wants to actively court controversy about the club, and is desperate for a story about 'problems'. manager in danger, DOF taking over, players being sold, bust ups. how is that going to help the club and team in any way whatsoever. I can handle a journalist being disruptive, but why would you try to disrupt things when you claim to be a 'fan'. pretty obvious why people don't like him I would have thought.
harpendenfox Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 I suspect Gally must be frustrated that he can't find more than about 1.6% interest on his 20k per week salary. It must be deeply frustrating for him, especially with only a further 90 or so weeks left on his contract, so he's only going to earn another £1.8 million from his time with Leicester. Frustrating times indeed

He does no more or less than many of the posters on here, don't we all want to know what is really happening? It's his job to report on what is happening at the club, he's hardly going to get the latest news by asking 'anything I should tell the fans Nigel?' As someone said earlier, we could do a lot worse, try listening to the opposition radio commentators when tuned in to Foxes Player.
Rocky Dennis Posted 29 August 2013 Posted 29 August 2013 Wow Ian, what a scoop you have there!! Players not in the team are unhappy you say??? Definitely worth teasing us all on Twitter with that, the only 'interesting' thing about it being that Marshall managed to string more than 2 sentences together!!
