Haydos Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 He's been average-poor for us in the last year, ergo there's no room for him in our team at the moment. It would be stupid not to let him go for £1m imo. We can't just keep giving him games until he decides to get in form so regardless of whether he does well at Blackburn I would say it's a good decision. Only other option would be to try and get him out on loan.

dog_4 Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 No surprise his form dropped. Was let loose when he first joined and then held back by being told to do more defensive work and played on the wing when he should of played centrally. A very talented 2 footed footballer that will go on big things guaranteed. He'll get his free roll at Blackburn and blossom.
gazfox9 Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 I'm amazed that Blackburn would offer him a 4-year contract. I would have thought in the era of FPP, Blackburn giving a 4 year contract to someone who could for all they know never fulfil their potential and not break into their first team is a bit risky. Or he could fulfil his potential, be an absolute revelation for them and be worth 8 million quid. The lowish wage I would guess he's on, its a no brainer to tie him into a longer term contract.
theessexfox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 I'm disappointed, I rate him. Anyway, moving on, what are people's choices for toast spreads? I do like a bit of butter and marmite now and again.
Legend_in_blue Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Not happy about this. Form suffered due to the negative way in which we were set up at the start of the year. He wasn't the only player to underperform either and yet others who were are still in the team. He's a decent player and it's a shame to see him go. We need to replace him though because even at £1m if nobody comes in it's a poor decision imo.
Jace Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 I'm sure he will keep in touch with Pearson and stay good friends
Bluetintedspecs Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Wish him luck, I personally wonder if he's a little bit of a fragile character and that's why ManYoo and Stoke let him go so readily?

If you want to pander to the development of one player then you can make this argument every time. Why don't we just play Knocky, Marshall, Schlupp and Moore every week, let them all do what they want and hope that they turn into world beaters.

whoareyaaa Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Not going to be missed really, scored a few scorchers but couldn't beat the first man, not much pace either. Plus with the new formations he wouldn't feature on a regular basis.
Haydos Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 why buy a player to play him out of position all the time? stupid management and weakens the team and slows the players development We're in the 2nd highest division in one of the top countries in the world. He's an attacking player. What obvious qualities does he have that make him a stand alone central or wide player? He's not particularly fast or that great a passer, he doesn't have outstanding vision...
Bettsj2 Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 I'm disappointed, I rate him. Anyway, moving on, what are people's choices for toast spreads? I do like a bit of butter and marmite now and again. Peanut butter, strawberry jam and grated cheddar cheese.
iamafox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Looks like we'll be back to the problem we had with Sven when we lacked a number of wingers then.
theessexfox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Peanut butter, strawberry jam and grated cheddar cheese. The cheese is an interesting touch... I'm just not into peanut butter.
Filberts Treat Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 A twist to cheese on toast... Cheese on crumpets.
theessexfox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 A twist to cheese on toast... Cheese on crumpets. Wholeheartedly agree. It's beautiful.
ramadaone Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Always rated lingard... Many a true word said in jest ....
Bettsj2 Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 The cheese is an interesting touch... I'm just not into peanut butter. Has to be crunchy peanut butter. Fookin marvelous.

Sharpe's Fox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 meh. He cannot complain with some of his performances. I would say he was our worst player last season. We have 3/4 wingers now. However much people don't want it to be true (including me!) Gallagher is still our player and haven't people been saying for a year now that they want to see Schlupp in that LM position? This will come back to bite us in the arse though, just like McGugan did for Forest.
Kitchandro Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 4 or 5 games into last season I was worried he'd be snapped up by a Premiership side before the end of the season. He was really looking the part then. And yeh, that was on the right wing actually. His crossing can be lethal. Then he got the U21s call up and the international break came, after that his form drifted off and he never really recovered. I don't think he has the right attitude personally, but he does have talent. He may do well at Blackburn but he seemed to reach a dead end here.

He got stuck in a rut here, his and a few others attitude was a big reason in our slump in form towards the end of season. We are better off without him if nige is staying.
ScouseFox Posted 28 August 2013 Posted 28 August 2013 Never any good. If him and Gallagher had come the other way round nobody would even rate or like Marshall at all. Just because Gally was hated by almost everyone (ironically for being slow, shit at crossing and a bit of a pussy, Marshall anyone?) Ben came in and was seen as the saviour. Our fans were like a young chap on the rebound, anything would've done as long as it wasn't Gally. A million is great business.
