ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2013 Share Posted 22 October 2013 Celtic apply pie to faces...again. Hardly. They beat Ajax at home. Ajax are yet to win an away game this season and they play in a league about the same standard as the Scottish one. Both pretty poor teams and thus neither will qualify for the next round. I have read the same old trotted out rubbish that celtic wont win a game, they said the same last season, so believe me there are those who fail to give them a chance of gaining anything at any time. Really? Like they did in their previous two champions league games? see above.
Dan LCFC Posted 22 October 2013 Share Posted 22 October 2013 Said when the draw was made that Arsenal wouldn't get out of that group and after tonight's results, they really are up against it, fail to turn up in Dortmund or Napoli and they're out. Only saw the second half. Pretty even game to be honest.
ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2013 Share Posted 22 October 2013 Arsenal will go through. Think both them at Napoli will lose at Dortmund, both will beat Marseille at home and Wenger will take a draw in Naples to go through in second. Easy.

That isn't that easy as it would leave both of them on 10 points.

Uncle Albert Posted 22 October 2013 Share Posted 22 October 2013 Yeah from ScouseFox's predictions, Arsenal would go through because of their head to head win over Napoli. Can see Arsenal getting a point v Dortmund and slipping up to Napoli, God knows if I think they will qualify but if they do then it will have been tough. ADK Posted 22 October 2013 Share Posted 22 October 2013 Same old Arsenal really. Trying to walk the ball into the goal might work against Norwich but not against the best in the Europe and then that second goal was just stupid.

Trying to walk the ball into the goal might work against Norwich but not against the best in the Europe and then that second goal was just stupid. I thought they'd moved on a little from 'walking the ball in to the goal'. Especially with the additions of Ozil and Cazorla, the latter who had a great shot go close and hit the bar. The second goal wasn't that stupid. They wanted to win the game, so were chasing that extra goal & were marginally on top. They left themselves vulnerable but you can't blame them for wanting to win; they just paid the costliest price in doing so.
Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2013 Share Posted 23 October 2013 Celtic needed a penalty again? Never. Ajax absolutely took liberties by the looks of it, even did them in the East End in the afternoon. That's a serious firm with serious bollocks. Fear for Arsenal, have a feeling it could come down to them needing to win in Napoli, would be a disaster if the last game between Dortmund and Napoli saw both needing a draw to go through for them which looks very possible now. Guest MattP Posted 23 October 2013 Share Posted 23 October 2013 Will UEFA actually do anything about Ajax's fan behaviour last night? Doubt it. Celtic were waving Palestinians flags about to taunt them so imagine it will just be swept under the carpet anyway.
