FreddieFox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Arry should've been England manager, no question. Players obviously want to play for him. Can't be all about the money.
lestajigs Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Can see us bringing in at least 1 player mabe a winger on loan
FoxLAD Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 there is always January to look forward to....
Corky Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Anyone else watching 'Arry being interviewed about his 3 new signings and thinking "what if"??? We don't have non FFP compliant parachute payments to play around with. We had all this supposed excitement two years ago, that's why we haven't got much this time.
Deucalion Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Anyway, off to bed. Work in the morning and I don't think anything is likely to happen. It doesn't help that Sky Sports News keep getting all excited about things we already know.
5waller5 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Who would you have suggested we panic bought on deadline day? In all honesty I haven't got a clue, didn't even think about it ..... I was waiting for the news not managing the club!! My interest in football is limited due to time, to be LCFC and not much beyond. If i was managing a football club I'd absolutely make sure I'd got a list of players I want .... and it would be a long one.
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 My hatred for parachute payments has doubled since the start of the day.............. and it was fvcking high back then!
5waller5 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 What if we had parachute payments... It obviously helps .... but Arry is a trader - he'd have been wheeling and dealing with no money too. My hatred for FFP has doubled since the start of the day.............. and it was fvcking high back then! corrected! Anyway, off to bed. Work in the morning and I don't think anything is likely to happen. It doesn't help that Sky Sports News keep getting all excited about things we already know. Have the day off if nothing's likely to happen!!!!
cjslcfc Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 My hatred for parachute payments has doubled since the start of the day.............. and it was fvcking high back then! Somehow the football league has managed to take an already massive advantage (parachute payments) and enhance this by putting in place rules which mean these clubs which have an even bigger income don't even have to comply with FFP. This transfer window has increased my anger and amazement that such a system has been put in place. How can it be judged as a fair system?
5waller5 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 We don't have non FFP compliant parachute payments to play around with. We had all this supposed excitement two years ago, that's why we haven't got much this time. Just a cheap risky signing / a swap / some sort of trade would have shown a bit of intent to improve..... ANYTHING!!!!! Hey ho.

And i don't think that it will stand - someone will break the rules and then take them to court (Bosnan esque) and it'll be rescinded ...... I've got a horrible feeling that Florist are playing this right and ignoring the rules as they think they won't be enforced. WE HAD NO NEED TO SIGN ANYONE
theessexfox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 What I mean is there is no point in buying someone for the sake of it, we're not under Sven anymore.

Sven/Neville/The Board wasted that a couple years ago
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 WE HAD NO NEED TO SIGN ANYONEApart from a defender, midfielder, winger and forward I agree
Harry - LCFC Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 corrected! I know you like spending and that but it can be incredibly damaging and unfair, FFP isn't perfect but it stops that from happening. Parachute payments then make it unfair. Quite. FFP would be ok if everyone was on an even keel but these enormous payments massively skew the competition. It's so obviously wrong, please deal with it FL, please!
5waller5 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 What I mean is there is no point in buying someone for the sake of it, we're not under Sven anymore. Our squad is tiny ..... just a little winger, creative midfielder, striker swap, .... all could have added something. Come january and we'll be looking depleted and tired again ..... he's not learnt from last year.

It's so obviously wrong, please deal with it FL, please! It's not even the payments. The parachute payments have been around for a while now and I can see the logic/reward idea behind them. However, the fact you have the same rules for 21 clubs and completely different rules for 3 other clubs is astonishing!
Carl the Llama Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Good deadline, chaps. Time for a bedtime crank and it's off to slumberland.
Bayfox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Apart from a defender, midfielder, winger and forward I agree And a keeper who can claim corners??
tony222 Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 Mate, will you stop it! People are entitled to their opinions and that expression is pretty horrible and shows you to be a kid. Go play with your mates or have a wank or something! Ok... Admit I'm pissed and my comments were childish but it's bloody ridiculous to say it's boring and slating Pearson as we haven't signed anyone on deadline day. Don't get me wrong I love deadline day but the fact we haven't lost anyone is the best business we could do. Also I am probably in the minority by the sounds of things on here and I rate Pearson. The fact he is getting stick for not signing anyone on transfer day pisses me off. As a manager he has done what he thinks (and has the power to do) before the deadline day which in my opinion is better management than panic buying. Also loan windows opens soon and we will bring some in. 3 points off top and no signings today. Must be Pearson out time.
johnny the fox Posted 2 September 2013 Posted 2 September 2013 can we get the board to do a lap of honour when we balance the books?
