Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 They only perform when Van Persie is on form, I'm not going to get into the latter bit of your statement because it's ridiculous. I'm basing this of last season aswell. Aye, Carrick is shit. Rooney is shit, in all. Jesus wept. D'you know how many different goalscorers Yanited actually had last season? You don't win a league title at a canter if you're only on song when one out of eleven men play well. I get the distinct feeling arguing with you will be like banging my head into a wall, mind. It's a very lazy and narrow minded assumption to assume that Man Utd are Van Persie and Van Persie alone. The latter part of what I said initally re : Liverpool / Sturridge / One man teams was based upon the same flawed logic that you used yourself to vote against United...
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 I hate them both equally, had nearly thirty years of piss taking from Man U and Liverpool fans for supporting Leicester.
Jaspa Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 I havent really had to put up with Liverpool fans gloating much in my lifetime, I had it from Arsenal and Man U whilst growing up though and the United fans in particular did my head in. I guess youre always going to get masses of blinkered wankers around any club that has alot of success, I suppose the only way for me to avoid future annoyance would be to join them and have Leicester City as the biggest club on Earth
Fox92 Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 They are both the two biggest teams in England. I think nobody else beats both of their away support either. A great game to watch on tv, I do still think its the best game in the Prem. Manchester United are the better team now, of course. They've dominated the PL era. Not sure who the bigger club is, though, that's quite level. I do think Liverpool look stronger this year though. I've always liked Liverpool. Like the football club, like the City and would like to see them win the league.
RobHawk Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 I think yannited are still above liverpool at the moment but its early days and liverpool do seem to be moving in the right direction! their form since January has been very good! Yannited on the other hand are going through a transitional period and i do wonder how much patience their fans have! they seem to be getting on Moyes' back already! The chase for the top 4 should provide some genuine competition and excitment this year! For me Liverpool and Spurs will be up there trying to break in, whilst Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea all need to stay there! 3 games in and i do wonder if Man Utd are the most vulnerable of last years top 4 because of the changes that have happened. Having said that its early days and i'm sure Moyes will be capable of doing well - As long as the fans are patient and give him time!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 United have the better squad but Liverpool do really look like they are going some where for the first time in a while. Dont really like either club at all though, much prefer Arsenal, City and even Chelsea to these two.
Captain... Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Man Utd - 1st Liverpool - 7th Debate over. Liverpool 1-0 Manchester United United looked awful yesterday, and just as bad against Chelsea, Liverpool were ok yesterday and have since strengthened significantly. RVP and Rooney are difference makers, but the midfield are very poor and Vidic and Ferdinand are nothing like the players they were. Based on the season so far I can't see United challenging for the title, Liverpool might surprise people.
Dan Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 If Man Utd were so reliant on Van Persie they wouldn't have won the league. Amazing on his day but has his fair share of games where he's totally anonymous.

United had a mare because Van Persie has a mare. He's such an important way in how they play when he doesn't perform, the whole team struggles and likewise, so I won't bother.
Captain... Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 I do think people are missing the Ferguson factor, we all know he was a great manager, I think this season might well show just what a difference he made. Moyes is a good manager, but he is not a patch on old Whisky Nose.

Man City and Chelsea will be battling out the league this season, Man U will be rebuilding and Dithering Dave already looks under pressure after just three games. Not to mention he might have pissed his best defender off with a failed move last night. Still don't see Liverpool as a top 4 team but they might get a lot closer.

Chelsea are looking best value at the moment, I know we are only 3 games, but you just feel Mourinho will drag them over the line in so many matches. Man City have had a very easy start to the season, yet lost to Cardiff, I think a lot depends on how quickly Pellegrini gets to grips with the Prem. I think Liverpool could finish top 4, but it won't be easy and I'm sure Spurs and Arsenal will be well up in the mix. It could well be United's lowest finish for a long time.

I was gonna say last season United had a better playing squad but not so much better they finished so much higher, that was down to having the best manager ever (debatable) having been there doing his thing for 26 years and Liverpool have Rodgers in his first season trying new stuff out. Now that Rodgers has got his ideas across, his players and his theories and Moyes is looking quite clueless, the squads are much closer together.

Charl91 Posted 5 April 2014 Posted 5 April 2014 I refuse to countenance that. He's the next Yaya Toure. In other news: I've just found out he was born down the road from me, so that should change everything for you. Even with their starting form and the strengthening Liverpool have done this window, Fellaini's addition is going to be this year's equivalent of the VP signing. Absolutely cracking player who's going to push the club up yet another gear. Utd for me. I take it that's your way of saying you disagree with my assessment of Fellaini. The lad's world class and Utd are going to be so much more handy in the centre of the park now, whether you agree or not. lol
Darkon84 Posted 7 April 2014 Posted 7 April 2014 United, somehow, have the best away record in the league. How the actual...?
