FreddieFox Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Don't know exactly where we feature but I know we're not in the top 5 for a change. Just seen this on Sky Sports News - Blackburn = 3.5m - Cardiff = 1.8m - Wolves = 1.7m - Crystal Palace = 1.3m - Leeds = 1.3m The Sven days are truly over! Freeman's Wharfer Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Nice to see. Credit to Blackpool for paying nothing as well. If clubs are spending several million on agents each year why can't we find a way of putting that money in players' pockets rather than that of a middle-man who does barely anything? It seems that everyone other than players see agents as a blight on the game and players are now not making moves because of their agent, not because they don't want to play for that club. Something needs to be done about agents and one of the ways to get players attention is any way in which they come out of it with more money. Could the PFA not offer a contract advisory service so that players were still sure they were getting a fair deal without an agent taking a huge cut? Xen Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 If I've counted correctly, we're 17th in the league, and I think it's fair to say that we're a bigger club than most, if not all of those below us. Looks like we're doing well to stabilise after the Sven era, and not just regarding players/contracts. Things are looking up. Blackburn are having a laugh. Their club is fast becoming a joke - almost feel sorry for the fans. Almost.
TheSharpeEnd Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 They've cut that figure by £1.4million from the season before. edit: We have gone from second-highest in FL to eighth-lowest in Championship. http://bit.ly/17cZAtp
Dan LCFC Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 That's excellent from our point of view IMO. May only be a million saved (if you can say it's saved) but agents are the games ultimate parasites and I'd love us to never give them a penny. Tom17LCFC Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Could be something to do with the lack of transfer activity in comparison to other clubs? Either way it's quality seeing us at the right end of a table like that for once.
hackneyfox Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 When do we get to see the full figures for last season, be good to see just how far we managed to slash salaries?
RonnieTodger Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Whilst it's great to see how low we are for a change, the amount them ****ers get paid is sickening.
Fox92 Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 The amount agents get is ridiculous, and I like players who don't have them... Nice to see we arn't in near the top anymore, Nige does a lot of background work to ensure we are stable (as he did with Hull) that people don't recognize. City Lad Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 How do Blackpool get away with giving them nothing? Does anyone know? Surely nobody would sign for them.

MrSpaM Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Who have Blackburn signed thats cost them that much in agents fee's?!? To put it into perspective, Bale's agent came out with 8m from his sale

Corky Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Blackburn have spent this much on agents fees, plus compensation to several managers and £8 million on Jordan Rhodes. Thank God for parachute payments.
fleckneymike Posted 6 September 2013 Share Posted 6 September 2013 Whilst undoubtedly a huge step in the right direction, In order to see how 'great' this is shouldn't you divide the agents fees by the number of transactions? We made the third fewest transactions BUT spent more than 7 other clubs at an average on 9.7.k per deal (a damn sight better than Blackburn's 44.8k per deal).
