Clubbing

I do agree with this somewhat.

For me there's a lot of luck involved in a good night out. There's a lot of factors which need to be right otherwise it can just be a total waste of time. My mates can either be a right laugh or can be in a taxi home before 1. The music is sometimes quality and sometimes poo. Etc.

I do like Mosh on a Tuesday but it's not really practical now me and my mates are all working full time.

If you come back with a few stories to tell then it's generally been alright, if you go out chasing skirt and discussing the price of a pint in every place you go then you're going to have a bad time.

Go with the flow, enjoy the people you're with, get chatting to randomers, it's all good fun. The people standing in a corner sipping their WKDs might as well not even be there. I feel for them sometimes but I guess we were all there once.

The good thing with town is you can't really have a bad night because if it's going shit you can just get so fúked it either turns good or you're sick everywhere go home and don't remember it.

Massively prefer pubs/bars to clubs nowadays, though I'm very much a conversationalist. Never gonna to dance a girl into a taxi, unless they happen to be keen on the Morrissey impression I sometimes get out on the rare occasion I end up in Mosh nowadays.

Always preferred day drinking to nights out in London, though was very impressed with 93 Feet East on Brick Lane when I went there. Went out in Soho after West Ham a couple of years back and bumped into a lad we knew from Great Glen who was off his nut and had been wandering round the West End on his own for hours.  lol

I prefer drinking on Sundays than a Saturday night out in town. Soar point on Sundays after playing football in the morning used to be to quality.

There's actually a video of me steaming jumping into the canal off the bridge just outside soar point. Pretty stupid idea thinking back to it now.

Some cracking pubs mentioned in this thread. Probably my favourite thing about London is the pubs, all traditional still and have their own idiosyncrasies.

As mentioned anywhere near Smithfield market is superb, couple of pubs with some superb hog roasts on and a sports bar that's beautiful as you go into the market.

Hoxton Square is fantastic for a night out even if the doorman around their tend to be a bit cuntish.

Can't go wrong in Camden great people, Chinatown is good towards the bottom end.

If you are going out in Leicester just let yourself go and do the shithole tour, High Cross, Lamplighters, Tavern, Squares, Globe etc etc You'll have a good time.

Failing that Orange Tree is probably the best this side of town.

Classic lamps, tramplighters. Mates brother works on the door so we sometimes end up in there, genuinely nearly always have a good night as well, some absolute skanks downstairs.

Leicester is what you make of it, always a laugh with the boys. For me firebug and mosh is my sort or music. One thing about Leicester is its stupidly pricey.

I say this about any night out. Leicester doesn't have a glowing reputation by any means but it's your company that'll define a good or shit night, every single time.

Whereabouts were you out of interest?

We stayed in Marylebone and I genuinely cannot remember where we ended up. Ended up getting tubes all over the place after asking people where to go and having no luck wherever we went, before two mates ended up in a fight and we went back to the hotel. Shittest night out I've had and although I say it is down to the company, a lot of it wouldn't have happened if we'd actually found somewhere, we seriously under-estimated how hard it is to find anywhere and can you really blame us? In a capital city? Kinell, even Newport (IOW) had more accessible nightlife lol

London is one of those places where you need to know where you're going, which is scandalous for a capital city. For example in Manchester you can rock up without a clue and end up having a spot on night but in London it can be pony if you've not found out where to go. However, London has the best array of pubs in the world. I am in my element every weekend down here, I often pick an area and just go swiggin' and you get to experience so many hidden gems that haven't been ruined by tourists and hooray henry's.

If you ever are in London again and want a decent indie club then Borderline is your place. It's not too bad but i'm sure there's far better.

If you want pubs then i'm armed with a portfolio of about a thousand

That's what we all assumed about London but were left very disappointed, then the night turned seriously sour.

I agree about the pubs, we drank in loads so I couldn't argue with that, but the plan for weeks before was clubbing and it never even happened.

"VIP" at Sosho lol never again! What has happened to that place? Absolutely dead. I'd guess all the pretenders have moved onto somewhere else...XY? Left after the first drink.

lol lol

I went sosho about 5 months ago and did the same as you. One drink and left.

XY isn't too bad 3 floors of different genres of music. Also Ghost is another place all of the pretenders go.

Went to Liquid for the first time in a long time.... Now i know why i don't go in there  lol

Liquid is an absolute dive.

Envy is actually a right laugh. Anywhere with a room dedicated to cheesy music is always good fun, it is unbelievably easy to get talking to people because everyone knows the tunes. I think it's why I love Mosh Tuesdays, all the floors have dat cheese.

Awful isn't it?

To be fair, I havent been to XY since the name change. It looks quite small considering the number of people that are queueing up there. I'll give it a go next time, though.

Has anyone been to Kensington roof gardens in London? Going there with a few friends in April.

Yes mate, went 3 weeks ago for lunch courtesy of the missus' sister buying it for me for my 30th. Absolutely spot on in there and been in the evening before when the club is open, which I assume is what you'll be going to? You'll love it, boilers everywhere.

I seem to find that Envy has more fights then Liquid!

Yes mate going to go to the club. Had a quick look at on there website, looks really good. The drink prices seem quite reasonable aswell for what it is.

Does Richard Branson own it or have something to do with it?

Ended up in Fanclub. Thought it was class personally.

Jesus

If you think Fan Club is 'class'' then you have been to some ''class-less' places in your time.

Absolute dive full of Milf hunters - even though there are no milfs in there. Doesnt even accept cards either? We're not in the 1990's.

There's nowhere good to go in Leicester.

Each club has it's own little clique of people who think they're A-Listers and look down their noses at anyone they don't know.

Failing that, it's just full of people acting big and looking for a fight.

It's alright for a laugh to be honest, but a dangerous place to be off your nut making poor judgements about women in their 40s - especially when you've got mates with cameras poised a few feet away.  :/

You loved Mosh when I bumped into you that time, loved it you did. You even said "I ****ING LOVE IT HERE MATE!"

It was shocking Saturday night. Total waste of time. It's usually got some quality tuneage though.

And that was alternative to going to London. Ended up being too late to plan and certain people seemed to realise they had not money at the last minute
