chris_lcfc_85 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Been made available for loan. Anybody think we should go for him? I think this lad would be perfect for us
nickelbyfox Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Attacking right winger - good energy and decent would be a very good signing imo
KFS Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Him and GTF and we'd be sorted. Couple out on loan
Carl the Llama Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Would be a great addition - he can fill in on the left wing too if I'm not mistaken.
Daz93 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Would be a cracking player if we could get him. Doubt he's on too big a wage at Villa either.
AKCJ Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Yep, he'd do. We need competition on the wings. If Knocky or Dyer gets tired, injured or sent off then we don't have anyone on the bench to come in and replace them. Right now we don't need starters for those positions, just back up. I think we'd need two wingers really.

The whole point of loaning a player out is to get him a game. While I wouldn't change too much while we're winning, I also think he's definitely good enough to start for us. Have seen him play a couple of times and he was quality on both occasions.

BrummieFOX Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 He had a very good season a few years back at Villa. I think the confidence dropped out the whole team and effected him a lot. If he can get it back he'd be a great signing. Similar situation to Wayne Routledge I feel, now playing back in the prem.
Fox92 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 He would be a very good signing. Seems to have technical ability as well as just pace. Impressed me when he was getting in Villa's first team.
hackneyfox Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Exactly. We should have strengthened Wingerwise in the summer really. We didn't need Bakayogo or Hammond really. Really? We have no cover for Konchesky who we were trying to ship out. We had no experienced head in midfield and were crying out for someone like Hammond.
Fox42 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 No thanks. Even if we had the opportunity to take the best players in this division I'd still say no. We're second, let's not disrupt the LCFC camp.

Bloody hell that doesn't make sense, we're second at the moment but that doesn't guarantee we'll stay there, if we had the opportunity to have the best players in the league I'm sure NFP wouldn't turn it down.
AKCJ Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Really? We have no cover for Konchesky who we were trying to ship out. We let him leave and I can't see Hammond being much better. Hammond is our 4th choice midfielder really. Would it have been so bad to keep Wellens? Time will of course tell.

AKCJ Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Why would he swap a premier league bench for a championship one? He wouldn't, but he's the sort of player we need. Someone who can rotate with Knocky and Dyer who has pace and can cross it.
Silverdaz Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 Well if Knockaert or Dyer got injured we would just revert to three in the middle with wing backs
Bettsj2 Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 We wont sign him so we should close the thread. Mods?

Wellens has been poor for us for some time now, Hammond is a much better player.
evs_the_fox Posted 19 September 2013 Posted 19 September 2013 More importantly Hammond's wages will be a lot less than Wellens'.
