Bert Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 I actually really like Poland Wouldn't be surprised if they become the "International Dortmund".
Ric Flair Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 But the other defenders we have aren't in the calibre of the one's you have mentioned. One thing though, people have slated Jagielka on here saying he isn't good enough. Our record with him in defence, is pretty good. Since Euro 2012 the amount of clean sheets we've kept has been shocking especially given the calibre of opposition. Not a single defender bar Ashley Cole and Baines has earnt any respect from me in recent games.
Simmo86 Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Smalling and Carrick in for Walker and Lampard. SSN
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Poland football fans plan to unveil a flag at the World Cup qualifying match against England commemorating Polish pilots' role in the Battle of Britain. The RAF's 303 Squadron, formed with Polish aircrew, was Fighter Command's most successful unit in the Battle of Britain. Jake Smolarek, from the charity organisation Hurricane of Hearts who organised the flag, said the match represented a perfect time to "honour" the Polish pilots and "to show that we have got on well with British people for many many years" According to the RAF museum's website, Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, who led Fighter Command, wrote: "Had it not been for the magnificent material contributed by the Polish squadrons and their unsurpassed gallantry, I hesitate to say that the outcome of the Battle would have been the same." Mr Smolarek said there had been a good response to the flag in Poland, where people are proud of their pilots who had flown with the British during World War Two with such distinction. The flag is also meant to symbolise other joint campaigns between Britain and Poland during the war. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24535805 I hope they have a fire certificate.

I think Cahill is up to the job but I do agree with you that the defense is our weakest point, Johnson, Walker, Jagielka and Smalling are simply not that great. I think Jones or Lescott need to be starting alongside Cahill.
Tielemans63 Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Smalling in the side - advantage Poland. He's absolute gash.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 October 2013 Author Posted 15 October 2013 Surprised Smalling gets the nod over Phil Jones. Starting to get nervous now.
Leicesterpool Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Just listening to talksport, already trouble outside Wembley! you can even hear smoke bombs going off!
purpleronnie Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 could get messy. Maybe the off field antics will be more entertaining than the game itself.
Uncle Albert Posted 15 October 2013 Author Posted 15 October 2013 No arrests so far, Police have it as a Cat C game according to Sky Sports.
Leicesterpool Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 2-2 Poland to score first, Gerrard to make it 1-1 just before half time, 60th minute Andros Townsend gets two in two games and in the 89th minute Poland equalize
absolutelegend Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 came back from work on the jubilee line. loads of poles in good spirits, one of which was passed out in the corner of the train with a bottle of vodka. class. i'm going for a 3-1 home win.
Webbo Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Very close win with us hanging on for the last 10 minutes.
absolutelegend Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Hope Roy Keane isn't his usual bellend self tonight
Guest ttfn Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Hope Roy Keane isn't his usual bellend self tonight I really hope he is. Never change Roy
MooseBreath Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 One nil win. Rooney early goal. England sit back. Poland can't really be bothered to go for an equaliser. Crap game, great result.
Jimothy Posted 15 October 2013 Posted 15 October 2013 Chiles talking about Poland 1973, saying it won't effect our players as non were born within ten years of it happening before promptly introducing a piece on 33 year old Steven Gerrard born 7 years after it in 1980. Idiot.

Idiot. Can't wait for this 1973 stuff to end, seriously dull and irrelevant.
