Uncle Albert Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 First time to the King Power since the Burton defeat last year in the cup. Absolutely loved it last night, good crowd (apart from the idiot who sat behind me), a fantastic game, good players on show and Leicester beat Fulham 4-3 in the last few minutes, who'd of thought it? Anyway, I thought Matty James was the best player on the pitch last night, controlled the midfield for Leicester and was brilliant on the ball. I seen a lot of people on Twitter saying it was all about Morgan and Knockaert, they were good but Morgan was all over the place defensively for Fulham's second and Knockaert as good as he was in spells was very wasteful at times, especially first half. I liked how he became more central second half, Drinkwater really struggled in that advanced position in the first half. Great win for Leicester, surely Leicester want Stoke or West Ham at home in the next round? Then hope to get a Semi-Final at either Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge?
Unabomber Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Was weird last night, my brother came up from London to the game and I also got tickets for 3 other guys (one a Leicester fan, one Fulham and one neutral) along with my dad and I (season ticket holders). We all sat next to each other (I had my season ticket seat) the Fulham fan and the neutral are big gamblers and had a combined £350 on Fulham to win, but they literally cashed out just before Wood scored. It was great for me that we won and the atmosphere was fantastic to show them what it can be like being a Leicester fan!
hackneyfox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 West Ham at home Sunderland in the semis Hull in the final.
Weller in Tights Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Col city fan, on 30 Oct 2013 - 02:34 AM, said: I'm just pissed off because I've missed one of the great nights at the KP! I bet we went mad when the winner went in! This. I had training with my lads under 13 team. We have had to cancel a few lately so we thought we better have training. 3 lads ended up missing training and then going to the game anyway so I really wish now that we had cancelled training and gone to the match!!!! We will not have training on the night of the Quarter Final - That's official
whitlock Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Needed a shit? Jeez that he definitely wouldn't have wiped, he was rapid! Ref was a **** not letting him back on. Superb game, liked Miquel and Morgan CBs not so sure of Marcin at RB but did well enough. Drinky looked ****ed in the end, proper shift, same with Wood, great shift and unlucky not to score that volley. No one I can fault for effort last night. Buzzing.
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 So happy to be a City fan at present. Second in the league and into the last 16 of the cup! Fookin brilliant effort. Lloyd Dyer is having the season of his life! Agreed but.... Last 8 matey.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Agreed but.... Last 8 matey. Fookin Hell! So it is!
foxfanazer Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Another thing that I noticed last night was our refusal to hoof the ball out from defence. Many times they would play and extra pass or dink the ball into a midfielder. Made very few/if any errors doing it either
iamafox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Glad I went last night. Haven't been to a game with so much drama for a long time, couldn't have asked the players to perform any better. They were magnificent against a solid PL outfit and I was impressed with Chris Wood, his aerial threat caused Fulham's CBs some problems. And credit to ourselves for not giving up when Fulham scored the free kick to make it 3-3. We had the final say when Dyer raced into the box and slid in the winner from Nugent's cross. Can't wait for the quarter-final draw!
thybluefox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Absolutely immense night. 8 wins in a row at home, on a run for probably the hardest game of the season on Saturday. Beat Watford and it'll be an incredibly good week. Miquel looked very good too, good CB with a really good pass on him. Difference between now and this point last season I think is the strength of the squad is a lot lot better. Same core team, but we've now got good backup players too.
Corky Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 What a night. Drama, passion, game changing moments and a glorious late winner. We'll go a long way to replicating all that in the league in the near future. Cracking atmosphere and a game to match. Proud of the performance, a deserved win and the players brought in all made huge contributions. Then the three subs all combine for the winner. Tremendous. So pleased to have been there and delighted to get through. Well done to all involved.

How many times over the last few seasons have we looked at our bench and thought how weak it looked. Now, with this quality in depth, we have real options to change the game (and NP's use of substitutions has been excellent this season). To be able bring on a couple of forwards so late, who instantly produced the winning goal, was brilliant. Last night I think we out-benched a Prem squad. Fantastic!
Happy Fox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Surprised by this considering last season's exploits NP is realising the importance now which is good! "A positive cup run really does help the league situation." Pearson added: "I've never, ever seen the cup, either as a player, manager or coach, as being a hindrance to league form.
Corky Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 I don't think he wanted to go out to Burton last year, just that this year's reserves/ fringe players have either better attitudes or more ability. Probably both.
Corky Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Last five cup matches v Fulham: 3-3 in 2000 2-2 FA Cup 2007 3-4 in the replay 2-3 in League Cup 2008 4-3 last night. 29 goals in five matches.

JamesWelshFox Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 One of those rare nights when you simply swell with pride to say 'I was there' awesome performance matched by some awesome support, I'm with Nige, don't care who we get next !
dynamark Posted 30 October 2013 Posted 30 October 2013 Shame the place wasn't full ticket price reasonable and good weather but credit to the crowd for their effort. Reminded me of 4-3 v man city years back when len glover nearly broke the bar. Very critical but we fell asleep twice and a silly free kick for the third if we are going to be playing sides of this ilk. they seemed to find a lot of space in our full back areas with that set up but they moved well as you would expect.great ball retention from us though right through.Kasper generally a bit more careful with the distribution and knocky showing some good defense as well as the obvious in attack.Ran out of gas 5 minutes before he was subbed but not willing to show it . One last point Np gets a much better overview from higher up think about the rugby coaches in the stands not at low level.makes sense
