Kinowe Soorie Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 You can include the fans in that - outsung by 3,000 for most of the match. It seems like the bigger the crowd, the smaller the noise. We only sing when we're winning. This!
StanSP Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 There wasn't actually that many people leaving? It's quite hard to watch a team have so many chances get beaten by a pile of sh1t that has two chances all game. There was. People leaving after 82mins in SK1 I noticed. Sickens me how you can leave early. Stay til the end ffs. Makes me livid when people leave early when even in a small amount of time so much more can happen. Just really don't understand it.
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 Yesterday was a real shame. Flying high, in front of over 30,000 fans... Had we been treated to a real feast of football, it's likely that at least some of them would have returned. Davie G has alright been right on this... Success brings with it increased attendances, over the longer term. As it was, the game fizzled out into nothingness. I suspect the next home game will again, be a lot smaller. Those 'extras' that came yesterday, won't return again.

My only disagreement with your post is when you mention the "extras won't come again" They will be back when/If we get promoted, they will be back next time we play forest. The big occasions will always bring the larger crowds. Apologies if I being a tad pedantic and stating the obvious ;-)

I was at the front of sk1 so didn't notice behind me, but there was a point when forest were singing "is there a fire drill" I had a quick look round the ground and seen about six people walking out. I always stay till the end I don't see the point in paying all that money to walk out with ten minutes to go.
Red Dawn Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 To be fair I heard that crappy wooooahhhh woooahhhh woahhhhhh song for most of the match? Oh right. That was us taking the piss, my bad.
KFS Posted 10 November 2013 Posted 10 November 2013 To be fair I heard that crappy wooooahhhh woooahhhh woahhhhhh song for most of the match? Oh right. That was us taking the piss, my bad. Mate it's Sunday morning and you're on an opposing fans forum chatting shit. Our abject feelings towards the loss yesterday coupled with your feeble attempts to get us biting is just boring.

Bayfox Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 THIS. Did the cold get to our fans tonight? Well it's a good job they all stayed at home for Boro last season then.

Lambert09 Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Makes me laugh that pre-forest there was a thread about how great the passion was against watford. It was nothing to do with a lack of passion, we were just unlucky on the day, quit your bitching and support the lads

I never leave early, but Saturday I did leave after 85 mins.Sorry to sicken you mate. How you feeling this morning, better?

Harry - LCFC Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Nothing to do with lack of passion. There wouldn't have been one moan about the team's effort and commitment had a few chances had gone in, as it were we missed a fair number and some people associate poor finishing with players not trying for some reason - emotional insecurity I suspect. A lot of fans just look at the result in order to assess the performance, they're not concerned about how we actually played before criticising. If we lost the game we must've played badly according to them, I remember Birmingham at home, played well and were very unfortunate to be losing after 45 minutes - Boos at half time. Beyond moronic.
foxfanazer Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Like others have said it was nothing to do with a lack of passion
Robo61 Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Agree that it was nothing to do with passion we just had an off day in front of goal. Fans of all clubs though are the same if reacting to results rather than performances. Anyone hear the Spurs fans booing yesterday after the team had completely dominated the game but had come up against a keeper blessed with good form and luck.
MattyFromLE Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I was that disgusted with it today i ****ed off after nugent missed his pen! Cant even get themselves up for a local derby! And pearson went back to showing how tactically inept he is today. The subs say it all. Promotion. Your having a laugh! How supportive of you! Perhaps Pearson did get his tactics wrong, but, I think Davies got his spot on, Forest weren't there to lie down and roll over for us - they parked the bus, dug in and took their chances. We didn't play too badly, just off-colour. We are 14/15 games in, and 2nd in the league - Pearson can't be getting it all wrong.

To be fair you are right and personally I am blinded by the fact we lost to Forest and it had to be this game we didn't quite click or get any good luck.

I can understand the frustration tbh, I do it myself a lot too so I shouldn't moan too much. I just think sometimes we need to step back and get a little perspective, we lost but did we really play that badly? Having calmed down a bit I don't think we did.
tontolcfc Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Third time this season we have lost before the international break, we have watched City play great football not just this season but last season as well, you've got to feel for the lads they had an off day in front of goal and paid for it. Nuge is struggling at the moment (but will get his form back) he could have done with Woody with him. Good luck to Chis and the Kiwi's against Mexico on Wednesday. Keep the faith Ipswich and Millwall next.

We were the better team in all but shots on target Harry but that happens but I just the losing to the historians it makes them come out of the woodwork and act all smug.

Looking back now, after the emotion levels have dropped, I would say the lads did put the effort in, but didn't play well, or wasn't aloud to play well. What I didn't like for period of the game was lack of movement from our players, yes they were being pressed, but the one occasion that sticks in my mind is when konchesky had a throwing second half, and nobody tried to give him a throw, just stood marked and waited, and after what seemed an age he had to throw it aimlessly down the line. I am not going to be to critical as we are doing so well, but I think we need to learn how to beat sides that come to frustrate us, and park the bus. Saturday reminded me of the palace home game last season. If we have any real chance of promotion we have got to stop being so wasteful against the better sides, that's taking our chances and not conceding possession so easy, which cost us Saturday more than anything.
Kitchandro Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 I agree with the OP. As I've said on other threads, the Forest players wanted it more and that's not good enough. Certain players lacked real desire and determination - I'm looking at Schlupp, Nugent, Dyer - but the team as a whole was just outfought and half-hearted. Also I don't really like this 'we created a load of chances so we were just unlucky', I've seen us create chances at home even at our lowest ebb. It doesn't mean we played well or that we deserved anything. Most of our chances were either near the end when the game was already lost or before they got their first. The first goal was always going to be important but we just didn't respond positively at all. I thought our general play and attitude was poor in comparison to what we've seen in recent weeks.
