Bin it and move on

I know it's an International break now but the best thing we can all do with a game like that is bin it and move on.

Everything felt wrong about the game yesterday:

1) The lack of a focal point striker because Wood has to be in LA 5 days before a game.

2) Florist having the motivation of pay back for what happened last season.

3) The arrogant attitude of some of our fans after our recent run of good form.

4) Just maybe some of that had rubbed off on our players and however you try and keep things calm in the sub conscious it gets in.

5) The day trippers turning up in their thousands arms folded expecting to sit back and watch a mauling.

Everything just was wrong, and despite having early chances and missing a penalty you could just sense it was not our day.

So we move on, at the next game against Millwall the 20,000 or so that care and matter will be there and the teams feet will be firmly back on the ground along with the fans.

On the way home last night on Radio Leicester they read out a text "Not been for 3 years, came today, it was awful, wont be back again." I say good **** off we don't need you or your unrealistic expectations and the pressure it puts on our team.

I believe in this squad and our manager, and also believe we wont be far off the top two places come April.

We are a small unit and have been stretched recently with the injuries to De Laet, Konch, Vardy etc and with the added stupid absence of Wood today it all caught up with us. That was exploited yesterday by a florist team that for whatever Pearson etc say were very tactically aware and did a number on us in a neat fashion, and you cant blame the ref either, however poor you think he was he gave us a soft penalty and a lifeline that we wasted.

There was nothing good or right about yesterday, it just needs to be left behind along with the likes of that idiot who text into Radio Leicester.

Onward and upwards.

This pi**ed me off. I appreciate that not everyone is in a position to be able to go to every game and some need to pick and choose. That's fine, but if you have an attitude like that then we're probably better off without you.

I agree with most of this post. But I think you're putting far, far too much emphasis on the part that fans and fan's attitudes played in the performance and result.

We didn't lose yesterday because of the fans. We didn't lose yesterday because of the ref, as you say. I agree with Pearson, forest weren't actually that tactical, because any sort of plan they had was blown out of the water by how many good chances we made in the first 15 minutes. 95 times out of 100 we'd have been 1-0 up at least after 15 minutes, meaning forest wouldn't have had something to hold onto. I think we would have gone onto our usual (reasonably) comfortable 2-1 win after that.

But we missed our chances at crucial points of the game, and they took there's. That's all.

And yes the 'plastics' are a bit annoying, but don't tar them all with the same brush, just because of one text. If nugent had scored the penalty, the place would have been rocking and those 'plastics' might have been the difference in pulling us over the line. You never know.

If you are making that argument you could also say that Watford missed a sack load of chances least week.

We looked good in the first 20, Davies changed his formation and we had nothing to offer thereon apart from the odd sprinkle of magic from Knockaert.

You're a bit of a twat making some of these comments. You'd prefer people to stay away rather than raise extra much needed revenue for the club? The day trippers aren't welcome, well in whos opinion? I don't get to the KP often, I live in London and can't regularly afford it. A few home games and a few more away each season if possible. My two sons travelled up yesterday, and the reality is that the expense to do so on rare occasions makes a performance like that quite unacceptable. If you're local or can afford a ST and travel regularly then you can take the odd dip in performance because you're also able to see the big picture and enjoy the better times, for those that shell out occasionally, and spend 6 hours travelling too and from the game then the experience can be quite annoying.

Maybe you should be a little more tolerant of those people who's circumstances prevent them being as great a supporter as you obviously are :-/

I have to completely agree with this.

Football is more now than ever, a business.

Actually, yesterday genuinely was 'a bad day at the office' because it was a chance to show the 'fair weather fans' (for want of a better term) just what they'd been missing. Business-wise, the club would have wanted to entertain them so much that they would want to return.

Probably, the performance and the loss has probably had completely the opposite effect.

Financially and in terms of the club's business model, Pearson and his players actually let the club down yesterday.

It was nothing to do with the support whatsoever. 30k plus is a fantastic turn out.

But in terms of 'bums on seats', yesterday's game has probably had exactly the opposite effect to what it might have had, business-wise.

Remove that huge plate of chips from your shoulder, then you can apologise to me for calling me a twat.

It's the expectant arrogant idiots who don't understand our club or the game I have a problem with, not you.

Now seek some therapy for your feelings of inadequacy, the club and I still love you really!

So a bloke who has seen 2 games in 3 years expects his opinion to be taken as valid when he's made a sweeping statement about the quality of this team and it's potential with little to no first hand experience of it?

It's not about who's a 'better' fan or not it's about one ignorant man binning off all of the good work that this setup has done and continues to do because the game he turned up to we lost.

That's what I presume pissed most people off.

For the record I really don't care for the 'better fan' debate. But don't expect me to take a sweeping statement like that seriously without something to back it up.

I live in the South West and try and make at least a ouple of Home games, and a couple of away games a season, a round trip of 340 miles for home matches. The fact I only attend a few times makes me no less a loyal fan than you. I agree with the above post some of your comments were ill thought out!

i think we should bring Paul Gallagher back he scored 4 goals in two games for preston but nigel dont want him at the club n he in form as well

Agree fully with the first idea. We've got off to a great start this season and I it was quite evident it wasn't our day. However we still bossed the start of the games and as long as we continue making chances and sharpen up at the front we'll be fine. The boys have got the international break to reflect on the loss (again!) but I think this works in our favour. The lads can fully evaluate the game and pick themselves again rather than be tossed straight back into it, in which a loss like yesterday's can have a pretty crap affect on the players.

Exactly. If Watford had taken their chances in that good spell of their's at the start of the second half, they probably would have got something from the game.

i.e - taking chances at the right time is vital to a team's success, which was EXACTLY the story of yesterday's game. Which is the point I was making.

That is, we didn't lose yesterday because of the ref, our plastic fans or, really, our performance.

We lost because we didn't take the chances we had in our dominate spell from 0-15 minutes, and then couldn't deal with the morale sapping nature of conceding 2 crap goals, against the run of play, in quick succession, just before half time. Add to that a missed penalty and then the away team putting everyone behind the ball.

Their first goal wasn't against the run of play, in fact they'd had a 10 minute of so spell of good possession prior to the goal and I'd just commented to my mate that if we let them carry on like this they'd go in at half time with a lead and bang in it went.

The change in the game came when Davies changed his formation to nullify our strengths, it worked like a charm and we did / created little to nothing after that.

Phrases like dominant Leicester might have been three up before Forest scored in the papers today. Yesterday was disappointing, but doesn't feel like the losses to Watford and Palace this time last year. I do believe we are now stronger. Strong enough? Who knows. Can't wait for the next games though. Loving this season

I do see where you are coming from but a few pointers....

1. Wood hasn't started many games at all for us.. I just can not agree him not being here was a reason we lost..

2. If forest had more motivation than a team playing at home in front of 30k fans with a chance to go top then we have a serious problem.

And with regards to the fan who sent that text.. Whilst I rolled my eyes at what he said, to suggest that someone going to their first game in 3 years is even remotely putting pressure on the team and should take part of the blame is quite frankly laughable

The fact is we lost and you're looking to portion blame.

Did we lose to the better team?

League position, 61% posession and 15 shots to their 6 shots suggests otherwise

But yes, time to move on.

I really dont get the over analysis and pointing the finger, yesterday as many have said was a bad day at the office! A Forest ST holder I work with said to me that it was one of those days for us and if we'd played until next saturday we might not have scored. Believe me he wasn't being arrogant or cocky he stated we played some very decent football at times but didn't have the end product. We seem to have the curse of the international break :P so maybe we should bury the apportionment of blame and just be plain superstitious and curse our hoodoo

I had to put up with a load of Forest fans travelling back to London on the train. Quite embarrassing after that poor performance. They weren't a bad lot, but we were rarely in the game, and seemed to have little desire. King played a nightmare.

Although this was probably our most important game of the season, fan wise, I feel we will come back ok. No need to panic, chaps.

We always tend to lose the last game before an International break. Its like xmas turkey it seems a tradition!!

Unlike the pundits, who predict premiership and championship, in november.....If city are in the mix at the

End of january, LCFC have a chance of top 2 spot.Yes it would be great if we are the team of the moment

and have 6-9 points lead......but beware of teams like bolton & Derby will also come through.

Lets wait before we start getting depressive or over excited...

Will people please stop blaming the fans, what happened on Saturday had nothing at all to do with the fans.

Overgrown sense of self importance.

But we have sold all of our scapegoats.
