Guest MattP Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Fair point. The attendance for Fulham want that bad was it?
Dan Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 i think it is all relative to how much wealth you have. Would i have sold my forest ticket for £10,000? yes. Well that's my point. £10k is life changing for me - but Svensson was more making the point he wouldn't sell it over the odds because it's to a fellow fan. There's a big difference between buying a ticket to sell it on at a profit, and being offered money for it. A big difference.
Babylon Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 But we're obviously going to sell out against Man City regardless. It's silly to compare Fulham with Man City. Obvious? Apparently there are loads of people on here who can only choose a couple of games a month. They must have chosen Huddersfield and Bournmouth over Fulham so obviously that scared the club. Perhaps they thought it was obvious more people would go to that game than bloody Huddersfield. What we've ended up with is some people who went to Fulham not being able to get one for Man City yet people who didn't go to Fulham (and maybe no other games either) did get one just because they were fortunate enough to know an ST holder. It should have sold out naturally, there was no need to force it in a way that benefits some and hinders others. I realise the club don't care who buys the tickets, but the fans do, hence why some people are disappointed they didn't get one. Hardly well done to the club from me, and it shouldn't be from you unless you have the same agenda as them. Yeah, my agenda is wanting to see a full house. I don't give a crap whether someone who has been to three games doesn't get one and someone who has only been to one does. The moral of the story, is buy a membership.
Babylon Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Fair point. The attendance for Fulham want that bad was it? 17,000 Which for me, is pretty shit considering it's an established prem club and ticket prices were pretty decent.
indierich06 Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Got to say, I'm with Babylon here. The fact that we only sold 17,000 when a decent premier league side - who we were definitely in with a chance of beating! - came to town is a disgrace. The club needs to fill the stadium for games like the one against Fulham and Man City to maximise revenue - they must have been gutted when they saw the gates for Fulham and decided to do soemthing different, and as it turns out, they've done the best thing because the place is completely sold out. Like Babs says, maybe if more of the occasional fans had turned up to see us play an established PL team like Fulham, then the owners wouldn't have had any qualms about releasing more tickets to general sale. But I suppose we'll just get a load more of excuses about how these fans didn't have the money, or couldn't get the time off work, or couldn't get anyone to look after the kids - excuses that all seem to magically resolve themselves when it's Man City coming to town. At the end of the day, if you're not a ST holder, if you're not a member, it was always going to be touch and go as to whether you'd be able to get tickets for this.
RonnieTodger Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 After my 6 hour attempt at getting a ticket resulted in it saying "transaction failed" and me still being charged - the tickets were put on reserve! Buzzing.
Dan Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I reckon they should've just done a fiver off the Man City game if you went to Fulham.
svensson Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Well that's my point. £10k is life changing for me - but Svensson was more making the point he wouldn't sell it over the odds because it's to a fellow fan. Guest MattP Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 17,000 Which for me, is pretty shit considering it's an established prem club and ticket prices were pretty decent. Agree to disagree. For a midweek league cup game I think that's pretty good. Compare that to other championship sides against lower league premier league clubs and I think our attendance is far better than most. It's a dead competition against a mix and match side. People can't be bothered for that these days unless it's a top four club and it was in between two home league matches.

Not the clubs fault that fair weather fans expect there still to be tickets left for them for big games. To guarantee it they should have become members.
Harry - LCFC Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Bang on, summed it up perfectly. You know that's exactly what I said but you criticised me for it.
Dan Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 You know that's exactly what I said but you criticised me for it. I thought this I'm a bit confused here.
Guest MattP Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Excuses. Not the clubs fault that fair weather fans expect there still to be tickets left for them for big games. To guarantee it they should have become members. If the club ever made any demands from fans on memberships after the way they have handled them over the last couple of years the said supporter would be entitled to laugh in their face.
lcfcfem Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Since nobody bothered turning up against Fulham. The club want to sell out, they don't give a crap which Leicester fans get the tickets, they just want bums on seat. It worked as we've sold out, so well done to the club. If more non season ticket holders had got up off their arse for other games including Fulham, I'm sure the club wouldn't have done what they did. i think you will find that quite a lot of STHs did not buy tickets for Fulham either because they had to pay extra!!
lcfcfem Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Excuses. Not the clubs fault that fair weather fans expect there still to be tickets left for them for big games. To guarantee it they should have become members. Even members had very little choice on getting three or more tickets together! I still maintain, I know a fair few STHs that did not go to Fulham. I also know a fair few that did go that were not STHs nor members. Where do you draw the line. Any person who wants to buy a ticket should be able to do so via the ticket office not a STH. It really does not make any sense to me. This game was always going to be a sell out. I cannot prove that of course, but my gut instinct is that it would have been regardless of how the tickets got handed out. STHs should have had a discount. Half price over the members and non members....IMO that would have been a better option. However, whats done is done. Time to move on and all just get behind the lads on the day, wether you are there or not.

The moral of the story, is buy a membership. Well that's where me and you differ. I'd rather see fans rewarded for their loyalty than fans who don't go to any other matches getting some fortunate priority out of the blue. I'd much rather the stadium be full of mostly committed City fans than mostly people who might only be interested because it's Man City. That's why the club is in the wrong, IMO.
Russell sprout Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I think the club should have done a points system where as you accumulate points for each cup game attended(same as away tickets),and the fans who attend more games get 1st refusal based on loyalty points,I know a brum fan who says that that's what Birmingham done on route to gettin to the carling cup final a few years back?
Soup Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I think some of the moaning fans without tickets should get down the ticket office tomorrow.Buy Ipswich tickets for Saturday and get behind the team. But that's a not glamourous enough is it.

At the prices Ipswich are charging REAL football fans should be boycotting the match.

dynamark Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Fair weather chances are it will be freezing mid December.last time v MC my daughter had my gloves on her feet to avoid frostbite. Hope you all have a pleasant evening we will have to make do with Stringer and Youngy.Good to see a sell out but would still like to have been in

foxaholic Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Plus the extra tickets are going to people who have as much claim to them as anyone who was trying to get them when they'd gone on general sale. I am an OAP season ticket holder not going EMail [email protected] if any onecwantsto use my allocation
Weller in Tights Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 I often give away my ST for nothing to my mates if i cant make the game, wouldnt dream of charging them This It's what u do if you support City

Great point totally agree ! Have a work colleague moaning about the "ticket situation" for the Man City game(not that there is a ticket situation in my opinion). So I said why not got to the ipswich game? His reply was, why would I want to that game?! Different game but still the same team your supporting does it matter how glamourous the fixture is? Think some people are in no position to moan tbh.
