Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Or 5. Because he hasn't been at his best this season. Though he is showing signs of improvement. He's been more than good enough to avoid the scathing he's got, 12 league goals and 6 direct assists is enough (direct hand in nearly half our league goals) on it's own even without taking into account the fact that he's been nowhere near as bad as a lot of the idiots in here have made him out to be.
MC Prussian Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I don't know why all the criticism. Yes, in some games he appeared to have been a bit lacklustre. But given the fact that in the past, he wasn't a real penalty taker and usually shying away from it, he seems to have grown into more of a leader role or taken over more responsibility as one of the more mature and experienced players at the club.
Out Foxed Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 What you have to understand is when he picks up the ball in the centre circle just picking up a yard or two and feeding the ball is not good enough. He needs to carry it past all the opponents players a one two with dyer, then flick it out for Vardy to smash against the keeper as Knockerart picks up the loose ball chips to the far post for him to score. Vardy needs to stay on his feet as a penalty is of no use to us.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I really can't see why people have a problem with Nugent. He is in my opinion the best striker we have and sits on top of our top goalscorers list. He always puts a shift in, adds to goals with assissts and he seems to love playing for this club. Yes he has scored X amount of penalties for us this season but is this a valied reason for fans to slate him??! I can understand the slating if he had missed the penalties but he has only missed 2. The penalties still need to be stuck away. I would hate to think of what everyone would be like if Nugent had missed all the penalties he has faced! Give him a break and get behind him and the team! On the subject of Nugent's penalties. Were we to find ourselves in a similar situation to last season with a crucial penalty to seal our fate, who would trust Nugent to step up and put it away? Not so sure I would myself...

Well I'm not exactly sure who else I would trust to do it to be honest. Possibly Konchesky but him aside........
cityfanlee23 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Well I'm not exactly sure who else I would trust to do it to be honest. Possibly Konchesky but him aside........ Gallagh......

Given that he has scored the vast majority of them so far, I think I would actually.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Gallagh...... Gallaghers pens make me nervous. Seems completely out of control EDIT: Should add to his credit he does normally find the net

He's only missed 2? Bolton and Forest? His conversion rate is good.
cityfanlee23 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I trust him. He's only missed 2? Bolton and Forest? His conversion rate is good. It's simple. Sign Graham Alexander.... trying to remember wood take a penalty, I'm sure he was quite good? Or am I imagining things?

cityfanlee23 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Missed one against Blackpool last season. still scored something like 75 from 77 haha
ealingfox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 still scored something like 75 from 77 haha I meant Wood, not Graham Alexander...
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 My mate scored 16 penalties in a row once. Then he missed 2 in one game Twat.
cityfanlee23 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I meant Wood, not Graham Alexander... Sorry, to be honest I had only skimmed the post you replied too! Yeah **** wood, NP OUT
Bayfox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I trust him. He's only missed 2? Bolton and Forest? His conversion rate is good. both at the kop end. pressure!!!!!
Kitchandro Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I trust him. He's only missed 2? Bolton and Forest? His conversion rate is good. The ones with the biggest pressure.
ealingfox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Sorry, to be honest I had only skimmed the post you replied too! Yeah **** wood, NP OUT How can you not read your own posts? And, what?
NewburyFox Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 Gallaghers pens make me nervous. Seems completely out of control EDIT: Should add to his credit he does normally find the net I was always confident Gallagher would score with his penalties. Maybe it was just the way he took them, the keeper would have no idea where he was going, and it was usually past him before he could react. Don't remember him ever missing.

I know they normally go in I just don't like the twat it and hope approach to spot kicks, works for some though
Bert Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 13 out of 13Never scored in open play away from home for Leicester though....
dmayne7 Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 I know they normally go in I just don't like the twat it and hope approach to spot kicks, works for some though Funny though. I could barely strike the ball on penalties then I tried Gally's technique and all of a sudden it was like Graham Alexander was stepping up to the spot! Plus, you have to bear in mind that the pens I was taking, were obviously a lot more high pressure than Gallagher's...
Libertine Dream Posted 9 January 2014 Posted 9 January 2014 13 out of 13 But 0 headers won and 0 tackles attempted
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 The ones with the biggest pressure. This is the thing. After the Watford match people were saying how Nugent should have taken it. Easy with hindsight I thought at the time, then I got round to watching the footage back having been there and Nugent was stood with his head in his hands the minute the penalty was given. He couldn't cope with the pressure of watching it, never mind taking it! If we are ever in a pressure situation with a penalty I'd far rather someone else was taking it.
