cityfanlee23 Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 This is the thing. After the Watford match people were saying how Nugent should have taken it. Easy with hindsight I thought at the time, then I got round to watching the footage back having been there and Nugent was stood with his head in his hands the minute the penalty was given. He couldn't cope with the pressure of watching it, never mind taking it! If we are ever in a pressure situation with a penalty I'd far rather someone else was taking it. In that case, we need someone to replace him permanently... If a player (not just nugent) Is not confident enough to take a pressure penalty. They shouldn't be taking any at all.... At the end of the day, if missing a penalty means we draw or even to an extent lose a game... That 3 points could be the difference between automatic and playoffs... We shouldn't have a "casual no pressure penalty taker" If you cannot handle a penalty with pressure, you shouldn't be taking them without....

cityfanlee23 Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Any excuse eh. Like I said not just nugent... Anybody... If it was Nigel Pearson, Paul konchesky or filbert the fox... If it's true that nugent was palming his face and couldn't bare to see the penalty taken, should he be taking ours??? This is not an anti nugent post this is a "should someone who seemly doesn't like the pressure be taking the penalties" Why have 2 penalty takers one for big matches one for small?? This is just a reply to the poster that said about nugents head in hands (which I've not seen) so may not be true.. But on the basis that I could probably find it on YouTube I would assume it's the truth and not a lie!! This is nothing personal to him, I have the same stance with all penalty takers...
Captain... Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 There is a big difference between taking a penalty and watching a penalty, being nervous for someone else when you have no control over the outcome, doesn't mean you would be nervous in the same situation. Although maybe if he didn't have his hands over his eyes he would have been able to stop them going up the other end and scoring.
jammie82uk Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 both at the kop end. pressure!!!!! And both he's been made to wait a quite considerable amount of time

Yeah, that bloke who's scored all those penalties this season - he definitely shouldn't be taking our penalties.
Lookatthebluesky Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Where are the Nugent 'boo boys' tonight. Ok so his goal was fortunate but his all-round contribution this evening alongside Vardy was terrific! I'm a Nugent fan!!!
Haydos Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Fantastic game and great to see this partnership between him and Vardy. Excellent.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Goals number 47 and 48 in his three years here BTW...
bovril Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 He's had a great game and he's had a good season. He's an integral part of the team and I wouldn't swap him for anybody at the moment.
ScouseFox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 2 goals 2 assists and one of the best defensive displays from a striker I've ever seen.
