Babylon Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 More likely to be his agent trying to put pressure on about his contract.... Remember premier league Birmingham wanting Wellens when his contract was nearly up (like that was ever true).
NewquayFox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Billy Davies won't be Forest boss for much longer folks, the big heave ho is on the way.... ;0)
Jace Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 If they wanted Lloyd for £500,000 they should have made a bid when Sven was here the window of oppertunity has passed Lloyd wants Premiership football next season.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Davies is that much of a moron, and the way they have gone about trying to sign people is such a joke, it's actually quite realistic they did bid actually. Ask Wolves what they think of Forest in regards to transfers, their attempted signing of Sako was a shambles. And I'd imagine the same tactic was used when they went for Austin. They talked a good game pre season and publicly linked themselves to lots of decent players (none of whom actually signed). The fans bought it hook line and sinker.

Remember premier league Birmingham wanting Wellens when his contract was nearly up (like that was ever true). Beat me to it Babs, I expect to see lots more about our out of contract players being linked to other clubs in January, sign 'em up Nigel. Give them all 6 month/1 year extensions with an option to renegotiate in the Summer should we get promoted.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I don't know why the bid is "laughable" despite his great season so far you've got to take into account how long he's actually got left in his career. I doubt anything will happen really, Lloydy loves us
MrSpaM Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Yet more proof that forests transfer policies are "Whoever Leicester are looking at or currently have in their squad" Swear they don't even have a scouting network, they just use ours!
kingfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Oh fook off Forest, go plant some trees. Dickheads.
MPH Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 It's only 500k because he's near the end of his contract. It's happening at all because his agent is clearly trying to get him a new contract. H wouldn't be a very good agent if he didn't.

I think they put in around 6 bids for Grant Leadbitter too, upping the bid marginally each time. Football manager stuff.
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 If they wanted Lloyd for £500,000 they should have made a bid when Sven was here the window of oppertunity has passed Lloyd wants Premiership football next season. Do you seriously think Dyer will be playing next season should we get promoted?
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Do you seriously think Dyer will be playing next season should we get promoted? It's like you think he's an awful player or something with his six goals from the wing and most assists at the club.....
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 It's like you think he's an awful player or something with his six goals from the wing and most assists at the club..... I think he's playing the best football he ever has for us. I don't believe he's a premier player. Would you play him in The Premier ?
Happy Fox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I think he's playing the best football he ever has for us. I don't believe he's a premier player. You won't know that till he plays at that level imo he will be a valuable asset to the squad he may not start every game but will perform when required.
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 You won't know that till he plays at that level imo he will be a valuable asset to the squad he may not start every game but will perform when required. Well I'd certainly hope that we'd be buying a replacement who would be automatic first choice.
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I think he's playing the best football he ever has for us. I don't believe he's a premier player. Surely you've got to give him a chance though. I think it's very harsh to totally dismiss a player when he's playing this well.
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Surely you've got to give him a chance though. I think it's very harsh to totally dismiss a player when he's playing this well. I'd keep him as a squad player but be realistic, this is the best he's ever played for us bit the step up to the premier would be far roo much for him. Scored a cracking goal on Saturday but there were a few 'laugh at Lloyd moments'. There seriously aren't many of this current squad that I wouldn't be looking to replace should we get promoted, a few could be squad players. You have to be harsh to be a football manager, should we get promoted it would be daft to think 'I'll give him a chance', the owners will hopefully give us funds to enable us to stay up, the manager would be risking his own job if he didn't make the most of those funds. The manager may of course believe that Dyer is capable of Premier football but as no premier side has ever approached us about him that seems unlikely. I'm enjoyoying what he's doing at the moment but there are still plenty of mistakes from him over 90 minutes.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 Ha ha ha ha ha , wonder if Billy Goats big nosed bird will be stoking the rumour on EMT?
Babylon Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 I think they put in around 6 bids for Grant Leadbitter too, upping the bid marginally each time. Football manager stuff. Yeah and wanting to spread the cost over the next 50 years to try and comply with FFP!

There seriously aren't many of this current squad that I wouldn't be looking to replace should we get promoted, a few could be squad players. We should buy like 20 new players if we get promoted, it really helped Palace. Lloyd's pace is such an asset, and even in the prem there wouldn't be many defenders that would be able to keep up with him, of course if we could get better at a reasonable price then we should, but he wouldn't be the first I'd replace and I can guarantee if we do go up he will get a fair amount of game time, and he deserves it as one of our top performers this season.
Babylon Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 There seriously aren't many of this current squad that I wouldn't be looking to replace should we get promoted, a few could be squad players. I don't buy the we need to replace everyone stuff. Hull and Cardiff were pretty guff last year and both are doing ok at the minute (so did Swansea and Southampton) after adding a bit of extra quality to their squads, rather than ripping them up and starting again. You will probably end up completely ruining team spirit, which counts for a lot. Not forgetting you could end up with a huge squad of expensive players that would mean you are shafted should you get relegated. The integration of better players has to happen, but you can't rush it.
hackneyfox Posted 3 December 2013 Posted 3 December 2013 But who of our current squad is seriously capable of playing in the premier? Not many of them for me, Kasper, Knocky, James, Drinkwater? Team spirit does count for a lot but getting hammered every week would soon ruin it. Blimey, discussing Premier football in December.
