Nalis Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I hope Klose beats Ronaldo's world cup scoring records so my grandkids can ask me what it was like to watch the great Miroslav Klose in action.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 i also dont think Brazil will win the World cup. Pressure will be too much and now with the squad released i cant see Neymar carrying all that expectation. Whenever ive seen him play he hasnt looked like the player everyone is raving about. Certainly think a south american team will win it. Argentina is a good shout but im going to stick a cheeky tenner on Uruguay to win it. Only thing about Uruguay is their climate is more European than South American. I think they'll do well though
AKCJ Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I hope Klose beats Ronaldo's world cup scoring records so my grandkids can ask me what it was like to watch the great Miroslav Klose in action. I hope he doesn't so that I can tell my grandkids about the great Ronaldo
MC Prussian Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I hope he doesn't so that I can tell my grandkids about the great Ronaldo As long as he doesn't mix him up with the other Ronaldo or Rolando.
AKCJ Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Nobody will ever touch THE Ronaldo for me. Nor me, my favourite player while growing up. Always pretended to be Ronaldo on the playground.
Grandad. Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 CR is just as good as Ronaldo was. Mate, you were born in 1997, you have no idea how good the Ronaldo was.
Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 CR is just as good as Ronaldo was. No player has still ever come close to replicating the season the real Ronaldo had at Barca under Sir Bobby. He was so far ahead of everyone else on the planet it was a joke.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Beaver god has lit up a few World Cups Ronaldo is yet to turn up to a single one.
Grandad. Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 No player has still ever come close to replicating the season the real Ronaldo had at Barca under Sir Bobby. He was so far ahead of everyone else on the planet it was a joke. Yeah and the Ronaldo in his first two seasons at Inter Milan as well, wow!
Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Yeah and the Ronaldo in his first two seasons at Inter Milan as well, wow! The first couple of minutes of this are ludicrous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8bZhNBQktQ
C-man Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Germany haven't got a prayer of winning the thing as their group games are in serious heat. Will take way too much out of them, even if they have got a very youthful 30 named there. I expect that Durm, Mustafi, Goretzka, Ginter, Meyer and Volland will drop out anyway. Think Hahn will get the nod. Looking forward to Pride of the Midlands coming in and claiming that England are a better team.
Grandad. Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 People talk about Cristiano Ronaldo and his raw pace and power, he has nothing on the Ronaldo in that respect, favourite ever player and for me Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo neither of them make the top two in my lifetime, the Ronaldo and Zidane are the best ever for me since 1991.
Amin Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Oh God, I thought Klose was finished after 2010. Don't you dare break Ronnie's record!
Dan Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 The first couple of minutes of this are ludicrous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8bZhNBQktQ Literally just watched that. That is absolutely frightening. Amazing.
Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 No one had ever seen anything like it when he came along, so much upper body power but also so much pace, a man who had the touch of a god but also could strike a ball harder than we have ever seen. Don't think we'll ever see another player like him again.
MC Prussian Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 No one had ever seen anything like it when he came along, so much upper body power but also so much pace, a man who had the touch of a god but also could strike a ball harder than we have ever seen. Don't think we'll ever see another player like him again. I think we will, but it might take a couple of decades before another similar type of striker resurfaces - it's a crying shame how Ronaldo Lima let himself down and let it slide, although a big chunk of his weight gain is/was genetical, so I'll reserve further judgement. The pace and acceleration, coupled with that deadly touch and a force in his foot resembling a cannonball at times - he will always remain one of the biggest footballers of all time. And I'm glad I had the joy of watching him play during his heyday.
Amin Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 The only thing that let Ronaldo down was his knees. Much of his weight gain towards the end of his career can be attributed to the drugs he had to take to dull the pain of his knees while he was playing and training.
