Guest MattP Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Probably have one of the best defences in the world, though, which is a weird thing to say about Brazil. Shit strikers, great back four?! Definitely goals from their midfield / wide forwards, though. Strange isn't it? The days of Tafferel, Marcio Santos, Branco and Roque Junior marshalling the defence are long gone. Still be hard to beat at home mind, very hard. Worst Brazil side I can remember. Then again I said that at the Confederations before they took Spain apart. Wouldn't take too much notice of the Con Fed, USA knocked Spain out in it before they won the last World Cup.
AKCJ Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Might be difficult seeing as Miranda isn't going. You're right. I assumed he'd be going, is he injured?
Dan Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Tell you what... Croatia are a real dark-horse in my opinion. Their midfield is unreal.
Fox92 Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Not the greatest Brazil squad in year. They're favourites as well, because they're at home? Anyway, I think there's stronger sides especially looking at Germany etc.
Grandad. Posted 7 May 2014 Posted 7 May 2014 Not the greatest Brazil squad in year. They're favourites as well, because they're at home? Anyway, I think there's stronger sides especially looking at Germany etc. Germany aren't going to do well for me, looked into what Manwell said about their games with altitude and the times of the games, fully expect them to have been completely worn out by the Quarters. Then again this is the World Cup, you have no idea what can happen. Argentina go into every World Cup with the same hype, maybe being in South America this time will help them! As if it has been 28 years since Argentina last won the World Cup, which was in Mexico, so maybe it is a factor for them, time before that they last won the World Cup was in Argentina. Brazil won't win the World Cup, that is one thing I am certain of and by all means save this post, signature it or do whatever but they won't!
kingcarr21 Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 i also dont think Brazil will win the World cup. Pressure will be too much and now with the squad released i cant see Neymar carrying all that expectation. Whenever ive seen him play he hasnt looked like the player everyone is raving about. Certainly think a south american team will win it. Argentina is a good shout but im going to stick a cheeky tenner on Uruguay to win it.
Bert Posted 8 May 2014 Author Posted 8 May 2014 I like Argentina, think they'll go far. Always hard to look past Spain though. Think this could be one of the most open WC's we've had.
Lionator Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I really think we could have a real shock winner this year, if a team can build up some momentum as the tournament goes on.
Dan Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 I can actually see Spain doing it again. It will be so tedious if they win it. Nothing against them but it's just dour seeing one team win everything.

MC Prussian Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 Isnt Klose dead yet im sure he is a dinosaur now. You're not a dinosaur at age 35. Klose could become the all-time leading WC scorer this year - only needs two more goals to overtake Ronaldo. Youngsters, typical. EDIT: And somebody tell Fourth_Official to be a bit more consequential with Umlauts - it's Götze, not Gotze (seeing that he got Muller right).

HEGGSY Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 . Where's Mario Gomez? Obviously not done enough over at Fiorentina

Guest MattP Posted 8 May 2014 Posted 8 May 2014 When are Germany going to produce a striker? If they had a Gerd Muller, Rudi Voller or a Jurgen Klinsmann now they would be tearing up the next few tournaments a la Spain.
