Sylvan Ebanks blake - to City? Gone to Ipswich

See this as a bit of a desperate signing? I mean we should be getting player's to challenge what we already have in the squad! GTF hasn't really set the world alight has he! he seem's happy to get a wage and sit on the Bench. Apart from Vardy and Nugent our forward's have a poor record and what has happened to Wood? his goalscoring touch has deserted him! Nigel need's to give all of our forward's a kick up the backside especially with season defining fixture's coming up.

Just out of favour, he has 5 goals in his last 3 starts.

Poor comparison as he's never scored a prolific amount at this level and it's still less goals.

I never thought Hume was bad for us. Appreciate he looked better due to players around him but some of his goals were quality.

wasn't meant as a comparison. Just a stat.

we have nugent who has scored goals and yet gets slagged.

yet we seem to think a player released by his club, recovering from injury and with back to back relegations is a good bet.

as I stated he will go else where and score. But its leicesters law he will come here and be the next chris wood.

And that was just his fault was it.

So if Madrid got relegated you would not want Ronaldo then. :nono:  :nono:

I'd take him in a heartbeat, never scored less than 10 goals a season in the Championship and would give a kick up the arse to our complacent strikeforce. No brainer for me - proven at this level, no transfer fee, reasonable wages, hardly any risk.

This. He will work so hard for us to prove his fitness is at a good level again.

Its rare that a player comes back from such a bad injury the same player.

If he joined us, he'd have to prove his fitness pretty quickly or there'd be little point. We don't want another Johnson at the club.

A fit, in form SEB at City? Without a doubt. Question is, will he regain proper fitness. I'm not sure.

He is training with Wolves as part of his rehabilitation, although out of contract.Read somewhere he is already match fit!how true that is.

My worry is that Ipswich might show an interest. They could be a dark horse this year or should that be white horse!

He's only 27 and although this is his 2nd leg break, many others have recovered from two breaks and it's not affected them too much. He's not been known for his injury problems from what I recall, i'd take a gamble on him for sure.

Is it just me but every time I see GTF play I am actually more impressed than I ever expected. He always seems to do something in the short space of time he plays that looks good and shows he has some skill. Whether a great turn, flick, run, pass, shot, head or god knows what. I just expected him to be a chubby lump who had nothing to him but I think he could be a strong supporting forward.

Totally agree. Astounds me that people are writing him off. He looks far more effective than Wood when he comes on.

Would we have to wait till January or could he join us now with him being without a club???

As I think with wood being out he might fancy his chances of game time if he can join us anytime soon?

Could join straight the way.

Oh dear don't we have blue tinted specs when it comes to other players.

this guy had 1 good season about 3 years ago. He since got relegated twice and was let go by wolves. Due to injury and salary maybe. But released all the same.

granted if he goes to qpr or burnley it will probably work out. However if he comes to us. He will suffer a setback. Just the way our luck goes.

Agree with you though it may be worth signing him if he can offer us somethinf however small just to stop Bun-leh getting him
