Sylvan Ebanks blake - to City? Gone to Ipswich

I do agree with you.... And I do want him here.... But for someone to be thrown straight into the firing line for a promotion push after being out for so long with a broken leg might be a tough call for Pearson to make.. but maybe not for someone like Sean Dyche.

Don't get me wrong I'd like him here.. i'm just trying to work out what SEB would be thinking...

People writing him off don't realise what he gives to a team. He's a strong outlet and he's scored serious goals in the Championship. 72 goals in 5 Championship seasons.

and had some bad injuries in those tenures...

If fully fit and hungry is devastating at this level

I think he would probably come here tbh, We have more of a chance of going up, burnley will fade out, their squad is not as strong as ours

Lets not forget Wasilewski had a leg break also and despite the last couple of games, he's looked very decent so far. It's a big blow but it isn't irrecoverable.

They've only got Ings and Vokes so more chance of him playing there then over here with our options in Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF and Schlupp.

( probably not the best way to convince people, Ginger... that works out at less than 15 a season...)

He's had injury problems but in the only season he stayed fully fit he scored 25. It's a risk but if our Sport Science department can keep him injury free, he will bag plenty goals.

Instead of mentioning Luigi Glombard & Arnar Gunnlaugsson.

Realistically, I would bring him in until the end of the season, he can easily chip in with a few key goals here and there, if he recovers well from a broken leg, and regains some goalscoring touch.

If not, I would put a loan bid in for Kevin Phillips, or go for youth and snap up Patrick Bamford from Chelsea until May.

I need a bit of help here, can someone tell me what type of player he is ? And something a little more constructive than a striker or big black one please

A French winger from Cambridge.

In seriousness I'm not sure. All I know is he knows where the net is. Not sure what his all-round game is like.

Do like him, and would take him fully fit, but has he been injured/out of action for the past 6+ months - if so could be a liability. think in Jan need to get players that could hit the ground running so to speak and give us that extra edge off the bat

Oh dear don't we have blue tinted specs when it comes to other players.

this guy had 1 good season about 3 years ago. He since got relegated twice and was let go by wolves. Due to injury and salary maybe. But released all the same.

granted if he goes to qpr or burnley it will probably work out. However if he comes to us. He will suffer a setback. Just the way our luck goes.

I'd said nothing Bayfox :P

Personally I trust the judgement of the people that will be making the decision on fitness and what he could bring to the squad.

is SEB quick???

Was.

This is his second borken leg now, will be tough to come back again.

Would only give him a short term deal if anything, was found wanting at the top level so no need for him if we go up.

See this as a bit of a desperate signing? I mean we should be getting player's to challenge what we already have in the squad! GTF hasn't really set the world alight has he! he seem's happy to get a wage and sit on the Bench. Apart from Vardy and Nugent our forward's have a poor record and what has happened to Wood? his goalscoring touch has deserted him! Nigel need's to give all of our forward's a kick up the backside especially with season defining fixture's coming up.

Is it just me but every time I see GTF play I am actually more impressed than I ever expected. He always seems to do something in the short space of time he plays that looks good and shows he has some skill. Whether a great turn, flick, run, pass, shot, head or god knows what. I just expected him to be a chubby lump who had nothing to him but I think he could be a strong supporting forward.

Tbf it isn't easy to score when you're not on the pitch. Give him a run of games and I'd be confident of him getting a few.

Excellent proven championshp striker still only 27 his championship record is....73 goals in 140 starts and 20 odd sub apperances. Yes he recovering from a broken leg but players have come back from far worse

Would happily take Ebanks-Blake anyday. Proven goal scorer + thought he looked a handful (only other player to make that impression was sako who IMO is way above wolves level) in a struggling wolves side that played us at home last year. I believe he hit the post then and gave wes Morgan a real battle. A good physical option especially as we avoid a fee and coming back from injury we can justify slightly smaller wages. Not surprised we are interested - after all he has man utd youth experience.
