There's so little chance of scoring from these little floaters put in by Knocky and James. Whip them in with pace! Our defenders are pretty poor attacking set pieces too.

I know Knocky will get some stick for 'not beating the first man', and that is fair. But people never criticise the players in the middle. Why is it that we never have anyone anywhere near the front post? Why does the 'first man' have to be a defender instead of a blue shirt darting in front of him and getting a flick? There are loads of goals scored that way, but we seem too thick to realise this and insist on having every player standing in the middle expecting the ball to land on their heads.

Football has become so tactical nowadays that they can't afford to be overlooked in the attacking sense and defending sense.

It's easier to defend a floaty, aimless ball than one whipped in with pace, however.

Correct, but i remember us trying on numerous occasions where we used to try the whipped in corner but fail to beat the first man. It is harder to attack a floated cross but it's also harder to clear, meaning we will have players in and around the box for that half cleared header. I know it hasn't worked but there is a reason for everything we attempt.

Was knackered whilst trying to get over to take it, seemed pissed off too, perfect combination for a shit, unthreatening corner. James or Drinkwater should've been assertive and taken it instead.

Said the exact same thing to my dad, for a centre half he attacks set pieces terribly. Maybe we should get Taggart, Walsh and Elliott down the training ground to show them how to do it.
