Amin Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 It'll either be Alexander Rossi or Will Stevens. Both are capable drivers.
VinceNoir Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Wow, that looks absolutely insane. Really hope he pulls through.
isaidno Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Hoping this doesn't come across as insensitive but I wonder what Marussia are going to do looking forward. They have their first home race this weekend - do they race? Do they replace Bianchi? Can't see them building another car in time for Russia . Looking at the video , it looked like something failed on the car . He went in head on at full speed .
Amin Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 Can't see them building another car in time for Russia . Looking at the video , it looked like something failed on the car . He went in head on at full speed . They should have a spare tub at the factory I would have thought, so then it's just about fitting the parts. Hopefully they'll be able to get it out to Sochi on time.
bovril Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Ouch, a lot worse than i expected Appalling. As I said above he's just lucky he went in sideways.
Brainy Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Random thing to ask but I wonder how much damage the Sauber took from being dropped
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 As I understand it there were double waved yellows on the straight leading in to the corner, unless he'd been aquaplaning for hundreds of yards you have to wonder why he was going so quick, 100mph I'd read and that gif would support that. Sickening looking incident whatever the case.
GLC Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 I've just noticed, one of the marshalls is waving a green flag!?
isaidno Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 The green should be waving after the incident. Double yellow means ' to slow down and prepare to stop '
Amin Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 I've just noticed, one of the marshalls is waving a green flag!? He is after the point of incident technically, so he has to wave the green flag.
Amin Posted 6 October 2014 Author Posted 6 October 2014 Random thing to ask but I wonder how much damage the Sauber took from being dropped I think it took the rear wing off. The marshals are lucky that they didn't get hit by the swinging car. You can see one between the truck and the barrier nearly getting hit.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Ouch, a lot worse than i expected crazy
isaidno Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 If Lewis wins the next 3 races with Rosberg second in all of them , Rosberg could still take the title with a second place in Abu Dhabi if Lewis retires. Lewis would have 11 wins and Rosberg 4 .
DennisNedry Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 I find it amazing that the F1 car has enough momentum to lift the truck off the ground. Nasty impact though, I'll be amazed if he races again. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=935_1412607015
iamafox Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 Ouch, a lot worse than i expected Holy shit that looks horrific.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 The Marshall is lucky to be alive! Inches from being wiped out. Hope JB pulls through....
Collymore Posted 6 October 2014 Posted 6 October 2014 I actually have more hope now seeing this. There's no way he'd still be alive or even have a head if his head had hit the jcb.
DennisNedry Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 After Bianchi's incident, I went on a bit of a morbid tour of YouTube watching fatal crashes from decades gone by. It's horrific, and I really can't believe how unsafe it was back then. Roger Williamsons death is the perfect example, I mean WTF was wrong with the regulations back then?
VLC86 Posted 7 October 2014 Posted 7 October 2014 Iv just seen his family's statement which says he has diffuse axonal injury which can vary in seriousness however his injuries have been described as serious. Judging by the little research I have done only 10% of people with these injuries regain consciousness so it looks very bad for him. It looks like he didn't hit his head or if he did it wasn't substantial but that injury is caused by the brain rattling in his skull. Very, very sad.
Amin Posted 7 October 2014 Author Posted 7 October 2014 Jules Bianchi's family has released a statement that thanks everyone for their support and also confirms the extent of his injuries. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/116205 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffuse_axonal_injury#Treatment 90% chance he won't wake up. Doesn't look good for Jules.
isaidno Posted 8 October 2014 Posted 8 October 2014 new Azerbaijan circuit , seriously long start finish straight .
