lol

The usual lack of appreciation of how good our rivals are playing..

One of my workmates is a Derby fan and commutes from Derby every day. He says that Will Hughes is the best young player hes seen at Derby in years.

And Craig Bryson has got what? 8 goals and 9 assists to his name already this season? Thats not bad is it?

Dont worry lads and lasses..... it is ok to say that another team is actually doing pretty well too..It dont make you any less a 'real fan'

I'm not saying they aren't at least play-off contenders, they certainly are better than last year, but they are not the w***fest that Sky seem to think.

will hughes is better than all four...barcelona scouted him

So, if someone from Bayern were to scout one of our players, he'd be better than Will Hughes, right?

Logic is a strange thing sometimes.

Derby have been built up sensibly and carefully over a few years and are not to be underestimated. Next Friday will be a tough old game, no doubt about it.

I'm not convinced they have enough for automatic, mind.

Just to clarify, did Nuge's goal count yesterday? Free header from 6 yards out with no keeper to beat, seems unlikely that it would

Wouldn't think so. Even penalties are from 18 yards, so if they don't count, and there was no opposition, I presume it has to be 20 yards or more!

Someone behind me said this after he scored:

"You can't sing his name after he's scored a free header from 6 yards" lol

I love this,

If derby had won again or even drew, we'd be hearing the same thing we've heard for a month "derby look good" "the look the real deal"

"Mclaren has then playing excellent"

They lose 1 game in about 8 and all of a sudden they are overrated and shit and it was always going to happen...

Their form is better than ours... They beat the Doncaster we lost against...

Let's not start tempting fate just because we are top.. Long way to go but we know how easily we could get dicked by derby... This is football ...

I just wonder if we were on a run of 7 straight wins, then lost that we would get written off...

Or is it because it's derby? People love to hate derby and it's embarrassing....

They are a good side with confidence and I for one can't wait to play, because if we win I guarantee we'd have earnt it.

We lost two matches and we had threads on here saying we would fall apart, so yes, our own fans were writing us off.

Was a rubbish game really, both sides on the day lacked quality, although the dreadful weather hardly helped.

Still, it's rather comforting that we can go away from home in this league with what was effectively a part-reserve team and still come back with all three points, especially at a ground where our record has been quite poor in recent times. It's testament to the progress the squad has made since last season - think we really look like we could do the business this season (touch wood).

Just a few quick points for people who didn't go to the game:

1. Pearson played a very risky game today in his second half tactics. At 2-1 he decided to stick with Schlupp up front, draw men back and invite pressure. In the end Millwall didn't equalise but it I'd rather we not do this sort of thing as often as we do, particularly away from home. Millwall were pisspoor and sustaining pressure on them would have been an easier (and less risky) way of seeing out the game IMO.

2. Call me a miser, but I'm really struggling to give GTF much credit for his assist and Schlupp much credit for his goal. It didn't look to me like the former initially intended to set up Nugent, and only decided to cut it hopefully back into the box after he badly miscontrolled it off his thigh, and Schlupp's shot was pretty poor to be honest - most keepers in this division would have saved it.

3. Knockaert had a good game, Dyer was dreadful (don't get me wrong though, I still love the guy). King was pretty anonymous.

4. Miquel is not a left back. He's also surprisingly 'route one' for someone who has come from Arsenal.

5. Didn't think we were very loud today (in part due to the numbers), but our songbook was quite varied. Really looking forward to Stoke on Saturday.

Onwards and upwards :scarf:

Your first point is characteristic and a major failing of ours. What I can't decide is whether it's Pearson's orders or the players' instinct. The minute we fall back we invite unnecessary pressure and Millwall had at least one outstanding chance to equalise. That's not "ruthlessness" it's Russian Roulette. Thankfully, we're getting away with it.

Because the manner in which we were scraping results suggested in the months leading to those 2 losses were that if the luck run out we would lose ... Which it did... Thankfully we got back on track but to most it was obvious we were playing average...

The famous quotes were "if we are winning playing shit football and grinding out results , when we hit form we will be amazing"

At the time we didn't do that , thankfully we have hit a roll now

Which is a piss in the ocean away from derbys 7 STRAIGHT WINS.

I'm not going to comment yet on who is a flash in a pan or not until the season is over because I don't want to jinx anything look at last season!

We are doing great ATM but as we always say when things are going wrong the fat lady hasn't sung yet

Three more on our behalf and we'll have it equalled.

Yes... Which we have not done yet.

The point stands that people on here write off derby after 7 straight wins and 1 poor result against arguably what should be one of the best teams in the division...

They lost to Wigan, we lost to doncaster..

This is football, don't write anyone off, especially not the championship form team.

Bloody hell. This is what we're up against nowadays?

Good on them, 7 straight wins, hard to match... I'm not going to write them off let's see next Friday... But they are not the best team, not by a long shot... They lost to Wigan we beat QPR, Reading, Bolton and drew to Burnley.

I find Derby's record against the top 10 excluding themselves interesting. 3 wins, 1 draw, and 5 defeats.

I feel slightly less concerned about them after yesterday. How many times this season have we been well beaten? Wigan battered them apparently.

Yes. Who was manager.

Look at their form since Mcclaren came in....

Just like our form when we had "not played any of the big teams"

But our fans thought we could beat united and it was certain that we would be Amazing...

We've done well!!

But to write off the form team in the championship who have climbed about 10 places in a month and a half is rediculous.
