Jace Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Conrad looks like an absolute tank at the moment struggle to imagine much getting past him, I think Kasper will be fighting for his place when he returns from injury
cityfanlee23 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Adam Smith always comes across to me as a real idiot on Twitter. He is a young professional footballer... think's he's joe hart... Most of the younger ones are like that.. think they are famous. A lad I know of through others plays for everton, He's never made a first team appearance, but to be fair everton paid a nice sum for him.. As I said never made a first team appearance but walks around his hometown like he is bertie big bollocks. and the worst bit is people fall for it.. Don't follow him then. there is the solution. P.s I like conrad. hope he has a good game, Give kasper something to think about if conrad has a cracker. Kaspar thinks he's far better than he actually is. NP OUT
Kinowe Soorie Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Noooooooo Is that Fatty Foulkes on the right?
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Did you see the time when Logan was number one? Around 2005/2006 time? Did you see his mistake in the WBA cup game? Not being harsh but has Logan ever kept a clean sheet? Not sure if he's managed to do that whilst playing for Leicester, but I think he did at some of the clubs he was loaned out to. EDIT: He actually has. 2-0 against Macclesfield in the 2006 League Cup or the 2-0 against Middlesbrough on the last day of the 2009/2010 season, for instance.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 For the cup game there is no need to risk Schmeichel if he isn't 100%. Logan can do a job for a match
Bluetintedspecs Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Injuries happen, we'll have to deal with it. If "splinters" gets a game then we'll have some answers. I guess if we had a poll most would say additional fixtures could be a hinderance to our PL aims. I personally have always loved the FA Cup, sadly it's not the great competition it once was!

Did he save a penalty as well!?
cityfanlee23 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Whats he on?? I would hazard a guess at 2k per week? but could be well off.... even on that basis, We have given him 1.35m to sit on the bench, Surely we could have just released him and signed a young goalkeeper and let him sit on the bench? I know that they would never knock kasp off his perch at the moment, but conrad has been a bench player since 2002! Just seems like a waste of money to me. It's fantastic having such a professional in the squad, but i'd happily sit there for a wage... then if schmeichel gets injured we all panic.. we need someone young, hungry and talented to train with schmeichel.. someone who can actually try to give kasp a run for his place... Just think it is terrible business on our part... I actually feel a bit sorry for the guy becoming a club laughing stock! but don't think it bothers him! Can we get someone else young? Before anybody says smith, He's crap IMO
Collymore Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 The chants and banter aimed at Conrad during the carlisle game was hillarious.
kingfox Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Good don't want us to win anyway. League is far more important this season, as long as he's back for Derby then it's all good.

Before anybody says smith, He's crap IMO You just answered your own question there. Besides, would any other 2nd goalkeeper be any cheaper? Really? It's not a really thankful job being on the bench for 95% of your time, but at least he's proven he can play.
Kitchandro Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Forgot he played in that game. Did he save a penalty as well!? Yeh. I love a bit of Conrad banter as much as the next City fan but if it's one game in the FA Cup I'm not worried. He's capable of being solid enough in one off games, and if he cocks up it's not the end of the world.
Kitchandro Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 No one plays him, No one plays him, He don't care, He don't care, He is Conrad, Super Conrad, He is Conrad, From the bench.
Soar Fox Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 No one plays him, No one plays him, He don't care, He don't care, He is Conrad, Super Conrad, He is Conrad, From the bench. lol
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Conrad has always done the job when I've seen him. Yes he made a mistake, but are we going to hold Kasper over his? He's made several, and is generally not very good. Things go under him, over him, round him, that shouldn't. Horrendous keeper, League Two at best. He'll do for Stoke though I suppose
LCFC1996 Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 No one plays him, No one plays him, He don't care, He don't care, He is Conrad, Super Conrad, He is Conrad, From the bench. Haha Brilliant!

I dont rate smith personally, Conrad doesnt seem to hungry, happy to sit and not challenge the keeper, or he would have been off years ago!
Father Ted Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Conrad can do a job. He used to be a pretty decent keeper when he broke through under Rob Kelly as well. Plus, we can sing that chant ^^^^^^ hahaha
Solihullfox Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 No one plays him No one plays him No one plays him He don't care He is Conrad Super Conrad And like Kasper He's got white hair.

_Fatboyslow_ Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 But he beat GTF in the pie eating contest. Simple really it's cup so it's not the end of the world. The windows open so if need be bring someone in before derby if Need be.
Alf Bentley Posted 3 January 2014 Posted 3 January 2014 Has someone been tampering with Conrad's Wiki entry? I quote: "At the end of his loan, Logan returned to Leicester amidst rumours about a permanent move to Bristol Rovers, which ultimately never materialised. Conrad wept tears of joy that he was able to return to his beloved spot on the bench at Leicester City." I struggle to relate to his thinking. Surely some club at, say, L2 level would be interested in him, even if he had to take a pay cut. Surely, he'd prefer to be playing - and would want to gamble on his ability to perform well at that level, and maybe even move higher up the league if he proved himself? Apparently not... I appreciate that, in the short term, he'd earn more staying where he is, but does he not have a sense of pride in achieving the most he can as a footballer? Maybe he's made a hard-headed calculation that he's not good enough to earn as much playing as he does spending his career on the bench at Leicester? Maybe, though, I'm being unfair - after all, I haven't achieved as much as I could have done professionally, in theory, and am quite content with that situation as I've done alright and get pleasure in other areas of my life. How many of us push ourselves to the max in our chosen careers? Like most, quite happy to see him play the odd game but not an extended run. He'll make more mistakes than Kasper but that'll probably have almost zero impact over 1 or 2 games.

Think Conrad is one of those who sees football as a job, Horse Racing is his main passion and it wouldnt surprise me if he is earning as much money as he can now to set up his own National Hunt stable when he retires. He is always at Towcester, Leicester, Uttoexeter etc when not playing and he'll have the contacts to do it with breeders and trainers being friends with people like Tony McCoy. I don't blame him one bit, I'd probably do exactly the same. Despite probably being lower paid than 90% of the squad I'd hazard a guess he'll have more than them ten years after he retires, he seems to really have his head on the ground, is a decent bloke and doesnt seem to want to flash off his brand new cars etc on twitter to a shedload of gushing schoolgirls.
