Guest Col city fan Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 If we'd have gone out to a fellow championship side or lower then I'd be slightly disappointed about being out of the cup. We didn't though, we lost 2-1 away to a mid table prem side and can now fully concentrate on our promotion campaign I thought you said we were going to win buddy?
stokiepotter Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Stokie in peace here. Would just like to thank all of you who turned up to support Leicester. Your fans were fantastic and very much outsung us I have to admit. Even when 2-0 down you never stopped and you don't get that from teams like Chelsea. When you introduced Nugent and Dyer to the game the game changed slightly and Nugents header was nice (I have to say that he's in my FIFA squad ). Good luck in the championship fellas and I hope to see you up there come the end of the season!

If we hadn't have rested our key players it would have been much closer, but fair play to you Stokie lot, you deserved it.
Simmo86 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Thoroughly enjoyed that. We were shite for the majority but gave it a decent go last 15. Squad players given a run out and key players rested. How former foxes striker gave Hammond MOTM I'll never know. Gash! As for our end today
Unabomber Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Wow what are they on? http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/224720/big-gulf-class I'm aware we were well beaten, but that wasn't close to our best 11 or even our best formation (one we had never even tried before today).

Just read that. Made me chuckle. Well done them for hammering our 2nd XI 2-1

Haydos Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 I find it really strange that so many are pleased we went out. A good cup run is never an indication that league form will drop. What if this season goes tits up and we dont get promoted? Itd have been nice to have had a good cup run and made some memorys along the way. Its baffling. I don't think anyone is 'pleased' as such. It's just not that big a deal this season, the FA cup is every year but this year we have the best chance of promotion since we were last in the Prem. It's unfortunate, but it doesn't really matter.
jmono84 Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 They are right... We didn't want it and I couldn't give a toss we are out... Rested our key players and played 4-3-3 which we haven't got to grips with yet. Reading their forum did make my blood boil a little bit

The way they judge "well if that's the best the championship has to offer" etc. They saw one game where we showed them no respect whatsoever by changing our team and formation, and then assume that's the best we have to offer.

One of them calling us an 'Awful football side'
Unabomber Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 One of them calling us an 'Awful football side' I know what a weapon.
Leicester Lass Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 One of them calling us an 'Awful football side' To be fair, we did play awful football today. They gave us a lesson in how to keep hold of the ball. They're nothing like Pulis' Stoke anymore.
Babylon Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Ha ha ha what a bunch of pricks. I suppose when they got promoted they played like Brazil and didn't need to buy any new players as they were so good.
Stanley Mathews Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Potter in peace here... As ever don't judge all (most) Stoke fans by what you read by a tiny minority on the forum ;-) Thought your support was class today. Disappointed by poor turn out from us. Wish you well in rest of your Championship campaign + hope to meet you 'full strength' all round. Cheers
Guest Bilo Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 lol lol You just have to laugh at the sheer ignorance. We started without Drinkwater, Morgan, Nugent and Moore. It was a weaker side than the side that started against Millwall, and a lot of us felt that was too experimental. Our first XI would have shown them 'the best the Championship has to offer,' make no mistake about it.
GingerrrFox Posted 4 January 2014 Posted 4 January 2014 Pains me to say it but Stoke played good possession and passing football. We looked horrible today so can't really begrudge them slagging us for it.
