"Given the numbers, VERY quiet to practically silent I thought.

I would like to think that is because they arrived thinking they had a chance and quickly realised that we were miles better than them and that we weren't as bad as they were expecting. :-)"

Wtf.

We sounded loud on the radio, people here say our fans were good, and then I read that. Who knows what to believe.

Atmosphere today was actually good.

Got to Celebrate a goal and go absolutely crazy.

Never got thrashed.

Put up a decent second half performance.

Nugent scored from open play again.

Injury free.

Got a wave from Knockaert.

Not too bad at all.

Let Stoke fans have there moment, beating an experimental side, not just in personnel but formation too. Yes, they retained the ball well but we looked lost in the first half due to having no width, we don't play like that week in week out. I look forward to meeting them with a full strength team and playing the way we do in the league...

I can safely say Stoke City fans are some of the most deluded, self righteous morons I have ever come across. They really do think they are something special because they are in the premier league. When was the last time they really achieved anything? The pretty much fight relegation every season, their attendances are some of the worst in the PL, their fans are silent and their football is nothing special. Most of the unjust comments on their forum make them sound like jealous schoolboys. We played a second string team and lost, so what? We have bigger priorities. Its like they are trying to convince themselves that we are nothing to make them feel better. What a bunch of cvnts.

Stoke are clearly in a transition period, and good for them I say! One thing I was disappointed with was our lack of endeavour at times, we could have given them more of a game but didn't really cover ourselves in glory but at least we didn't diagrace ourselves!

Anyway it's all about Friday! And hopefully two new players to boot too.........

He's suggesting Stoke will be relegated.

Happy as is possible with today. Obviously disappointed with the defeat but we weren't thrashed, we got on the scoresheet and now we can focus 100% on the league, this'll all be forgotten about come friday!!

No. What the other guy said.

This is a fixture we need points out of next season. Anything against top half is a bonus away from home.

Meh it was an alight performance, maybe a little bit sloppy but again we faced a premier league club. The atmosphere from our supporters was amazing as usual, even when we went 0-2 down. I've got to be honest was a tad disappointed with the team selection, i know Nigel wanted to give certain players game time and rest a few others but I do feel if both Morgan, Moore, Nugent & Drinkwater had started the game we would have been talking about a different result, but all the same wasn't a bad run for our second string.

So it's man with the brolly next, got to admit I'm pretty excited about this now.

Wasn't the best game to watch. Maybe we were fortunate enough to only lose by one goal, didn't play our best football but with a weakened team, it isn't really a bad defeat to a PL outfit.

League is the priority now.

And having 5 starters missing we only lost by a goal. I'd imagine if we got promoted only Schmeichel, De Laet, Knockaert and at a stretch James, King and Vardy would have any chance of starting whatsoever.

There's no way that site can possibly be representative of Stoke fans as a whole. The Stoke side that got promoted was probably the worst I've ever seen get promoted out of this division, aside from Hull who went up with them, so I find their arrogance astonishing when they've scraped home by a goal and we've taken more points from 24 games as their promotion-winning side took from their first 30.

Never mind, as well, that none of the three relegated sides are exactly covering themselves in glory this season or indeed last season.

Basically these people are thick. And definitely not representative of Stoke fans as a whole. Nor, I suspect, are the chaps on here being extra nice!

We played pretty poorly, and certain players didn't look interested. Our hardest workers were our regulars, which is somewhat concerning. You'd think players like Hammond and Schlupp would be desperate to prove a point, but were both lazy and shit. I've yet to see Hammond do anything worth a name.

If you put out a weaker side against a Premiership team you should expect to get beat. Then again, Stoke aren't a great team and I think we could have played a lot better, it was a far cry from Fulham when we played a similar starting 11. It is a bit of a shame for over 4,000 fans that the team didn't pay them much respect in terms of performance or effort, but that's to be expected as well I suppose.

The atmosphere was brilliant on the way to the ground, poor in the first half, and great in the 2nd half. Considering I wasn't expecting a good result I quite enjoyed it in the end.

Oh well, onto Derby.

Got to say, I agree with most of this..... Only disagreement is I didn't think Schlupp was lazy, I thought he worked hard but lacked quality. If he had GTF's touch etc, he'd be class.

Hammond,i agree totally. He's overrated and I don't see he's genuinely a better option than Danns or even Wellens!!! We can do better.

The system didn't work at all though for me, we got overran in the wide area's first half

2-1 is a good result for a loss. We didnt battered so the confidence won't be lost. The problem with the cup is that it adds more fixture later in the season when injuries and tiredness sets in. A cup run would be fantastic but a midweek fixture against a lower premiership team would be a pain in the arse, especially if an important league game is on the following Saturday. I'd rather have the whole week off instead of Nige having to decide whether to give the first team another runout just before a big six pointer or to put in reserve players and possibly upset the balance they've gained.

This is just a bit of a myth though. There is no scientific reason why you should get more tired as the season goes on, you should in fact get more fit. Injuries are also just as likely to plague us at the start of the season as the end.

There's also no scientific reason why players can't play mid week and at the weekend without any ill effects, unless they're not fit. These are merely excuses players and managers use which the public have bought into.

To be fair, we did play awful football today. They gave us a lesson in how to keep hold of the ball. They're nothing like Pulis' Stoke anymore.

It's still a bit rich coming from them though isn't it?

And if I was judging them on today I wouldn't say they were much different to Pulis' Stoke. Adam and Jones were their best players by a mile - Adam kept putting crosses in and Jones bullied our back line and won headers. And that's all they needed to do.

The rest of their team didn't play well at all. They were better than us, but had we played our first 11 and to the best of our ability we'd have probably beaten the Stoke side that played today.

They didn't keep hold of the ball as much as we just kept giving it back to them. They didn't really create much and most of their possession was negative.

Believe me. It was very underwhelming first half, second half we took the piss.

It was a great effort in the end considering we were beaten quite easily. In fact I'm sure we wouldn't have pulled a goal back without the crowd getting behind them.

Could have been worse, Leeds fans took the loss well ha ha.

that's brilliant. I guess the manager and players know where they stand!!!
