Foxymcoxy Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Leeds up next so thought I'd check out the game today. Sky Sports have them down as playing a 3-4-3. Pretty unusual but I think they will struggle if they play like that against us. Anybody know if they play this regularly?

I know they have been playing 3 at the back recently, but i'm not sure if they usually go 3 4 3 or 3 5 2.
Munshi Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 If they play 3 at the back, with 2 wingers, Dyer will absolutely Love it.
Foxymcoxy Posted 11 January 2014 Author Posted 11 January 2014 I know they have been playing 3 at the back recently, but i'm not sure if they usually go 3 4 3 or 3 5 2. Well atm they have Kebe RW and Peltier RM/RWB...good luck with that as a defence against what will probably be Dyer and Schlupp storming down our left! That said in the past we have sometimes struggled against unfamiliar formations. Should be an interesting game either way.
Munshi Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 We should have more than enough quality to win this one, sometimes thats not how it works though in the Championship.
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I was concerned when we went 4 4 2 against Watfords 3 at the back, but that didn't turn out so bad. I think the big difference this season is that Pearson isn't trying to stop the opposition playing or giving them too much respect, we are just going for it and playing our game whoever the opposition and whatever formation they play.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Kebe and Stewart have bags of pace themselves, and McDermott has had the beating of us more than once in the past. We didn't exactly play Leeds off the park in August either. McCormack isn't exactly shit either. Let's not be like Derby and Watford, pride comes before a fall. On form, we can beat anyone in this division. However, we can also lose to anybody if we don't walk out with the right attitude.
Larry_LCFC Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Didn't realise we were on sky next week against these. Buzzing for that!

How is discussing tactics pride If anything I'm taking the game very seriously and wondering if this is something we could exploit, or if they are likely to change when they play us.

Swarles Barkley Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Hope they defend next week like that as they did with sheff weds goal
ealingfox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 They're in bad form but Piggy McDermott's got a great record against Big Nige.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 McDermott will be gone before saturday and the curse will strike.
Fox92 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I'm just watching them now. Not saying they are bad, but if they play like this against us and we actually want it like yesterday, we could have 3 by half time.
LCFC1996 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Can see Lloyd having a field day down the wing
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 They look awful tbf. It's difficult to see us coming away with anything less than a point imo.
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 This is weird because Wednesday aren't playing well, but are still battering Leeds. With the right attitude next week we could thrash them.
Paulmot Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 If we play anywhere near our best they will not cope with our pace. I would be dissapointed with a draw to be honest, a repeat of the Millwall away score.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Think these will be a more difficult opposition than you would think. Physical teams bounce us. Of the ball, still yet to be convinced on that sode of our game. If we play it on the deck we will grind out another away win.
ithuriel Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Should be an interesting match, a win would be excellent but a draw would be good too.

You say that but we absolutely crunched Derby at times last night, and we showed signs of it at Millwall too.
Monsell1976 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Just watching it, Leeds look shite, and are on a losing run, let's hope they play this bad next week, but Sod's law says they will play well against us. Saying that though if we play at our best, I don't think they will live with us, their defence doesn't look clever.
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Derby are not physical, they are a poor version of ourselves. Sheffield weds proved it earlier on in the season. Im not being negative, just don't want us to get carried away even though that seems impossible right now!! Up the blues
