Finnaldo Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Brian McDermott: "Bollocks, who's up next?"Assistant Manager: "Leicester, Gaff."
ealingfox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 The only problem is that there is absolutely no way they will play that badly next week. And for the record, even if they do, and we play like last night, there'd still be no chance of double figures, we would never put that many chances away in one game, no matter how many chances we create. Our possession and build-up play was phenomenal last night, but the wastefulness was still there for all to see.

I'd be happy with a conserved 0-1 or 1-2 to us. as long as we put in a decent performance and get the goals I'll be happy. I reckon Wood might come on and snatch one.

We hit the post twice and Grant pulled off a couple of wonder saves in the first half alone, a bit of better luck alone would have seen us score six.

Not really - Derby were better than Leeds were today, and but for a couple of brilliant stops by Grant to deny Nugent and Dyer, and Moore hitting the bar, 6 would have been there for all to see. We do seem to be lacking a clinical edge, but I don't think it's fair to say we were wasteful last night.
ramaiya2 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I don't think Leeds will be as bad as they were today. They will be fired up knowing that they are playing the top team in the championship. I also don't think we will play as good as we did last night. Having said that, Leeds defense is crap. Smith won't be able to play next week so who knows? I hope we win next week but I'll grudgingly take a draw
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Going to Leeds is never easy. But we couldn't be playing them at a better time. They are shite at the moment!

As much as I feel like a twat for criticising last night, in the first half, we were undeniably wasteful. Dyer put through, shoots straight at Grant. James missed an open goal. Vardy, though the angle was tough, it was an open goal and he had time to take a touch. After all the steamrolling, it was 1-0 at HT, and it could have been Burnley and so many other games all over again. Credit to the boys for putting them away in the 2nd half, although the chance Wood missed after good work from James and Schlupp really annoyed me. Why didn't he take a touch? He was in absolute acres of space in the box! Bit in bold- I didn't watch the Leeds match but their defending could not have been much worse than Derby's, their defending last night was absolutely diabolical. Shambles, Michael Keane must have felt humiliated and I hope NP had an encouraging word for him afterwards.
Guest ttfn Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Knowing Leicester we"ll lose. Albeit surely we wil beat that shambles.
Unabomber Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I didn't watch the Leeds match but their defending could not have been much worse than Derby's, Trust me, it was.
MGLCFC Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 I can assure you Leeds' defending was worse than Derby's
LCCFox96 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Leeds look poor but I just hope we don't feel the backlash from this 6-0 too much. We should have enough quality to overcome a very strong Leeds performance tbf. Hopefully well have some additional options in Mahrez and Phillips registered if needed too.
Father Ted Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Put it this way: Win 3-0 at Watford... Next game, lose 2-0 at home to the Scum. Win 3-0 vs Millwall... Next game, lose 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday. I hope we don't become complacent and learn the lesson from these two results.

Next game, win 5-3 at home to Bolton. Win 3-1 at Millwall... Next game, give Derby such a thorough fisting that we need to wipe the skidmarks off our shoulder blades.
Carl the Llama Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Underestimate teams at our peril. Don't get me wrong I have no intention of doing so and in fact my gut tells me we'll flatter to deceive against Leeds and lose 2-0, but as I stated elsewhere I'm resolved to be an optimistic fan once more so I'm not allowed to mention that.
ealingfox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 The 5 wins in a row is usually where we hit the ceiling tbf - did it twice last year. Second time we were 1 up at Posh in the 6th match with like 15 mins left.... If we beat Leeds that's another watershed moment.
Raj Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 As a season ticket holder for 20 years i always think the worse...even thought we could **** up last night at 3-1!!!!!!!!
sylofox Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Just been in my local to see the results. Met a leeds fan and we talked about nxt w/end. He asked me if I knew whether pampas do man size lol laffed my bollox off
dayday Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Shame it was not 1-1 or a 2-2 today, there fans will demand a reaction, but still think we will be to strong.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 This is just the sort of game I don't like. Let's not get carried away into thinking it will be three easy points.
ACF Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 This is my first game in 8 years! Paying the ridiculous ticket prices and train tickets for this, we better not be complacent in the slightest.

Plastic Im a little worried that a result like that will make things harder for us up there, there is no way Mcdermott will allow another loss, they are going to play very very carefully and will either settle for a draw or if we get infront throw everything at us. 0-0

MGLCFC Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Any game is really about us - If we get our game plan correct, play to our potential and have the desire to win, then I haven't seen a team who can compete with us in this League. Unfortunately, we have had occasions where we have not been anywhere near our best and subsequently have dropped points. Those narrow defeats at Charlton, Sheff Weds and Doncaster should have all been draws at least, making our position more comfortable. However, after last season's abysmal run, I'm confident NP and the player won't let that happen again and we will continue to believe in our slick passing and movement game, rather than reverting to hoof ball, like we did in a number of games in our bad run last year. Leeds will want to put on a decent performance, but if we can get into them I believe their fans might start turning against them, particularly in a home game.
