Micky Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Am I correct in thinking that big Matt Smith will be suspended for this one? Big bonus for us I think.
Leicester_Numan Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 The pessimist in me says Leeds could never be that bad again. That was some of the worst defending I've ever seen. I think it was Wednesday's 4th goal where their defender was turned near the halfway line and he just trotted back after his man making no effort to get to him, he could have done it easily. When the shot went in he threw his arms up in that "oh ffs lads" gesture. There just seemed to be no extra effort with a man down, no fight, no team spirit, nothing good at all. They really can't be that bad again can they?
foxfanazer Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Wednesday's first goal was the worst imo. Allnthe Leeds defenders shifted to one side amd left the Wednesday player on his own while Peltier (I think) played him miles onside. Dreadful
Guest Bilo Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Without wishing to tempt fate, I'd argue our level of performance would have to drop as significantly as Leeds' level of performance would have to rise for us to lose next week. I can see one of those happening, but not both. We could beat Leeds if both teams play to their best and a poor performance from us could certainly beat the omnishambles they served up at Hillsborough yesterday. I'm not sure if we can make it six in a row, Leicester don't show off like that , but a Leeds win is a big ask for them.

Just watched the highlights on the FLS, it was the 5th goal. I was just mesmerized by him trotting back like a donkey. He could have easily got back and at least blocked the shot, he could have got the man if he tried.Just watching the highlights, they looked really sluggish and devoid of any spirit. The one thing you normally expect from Leeds is a bit of fight, even when they've not got a very good team. Dyer and Vardy will take them to the cleaners if they defend like that again
crisp monster Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Totally agree - he made the mistake on the half way line, trotted back half heartedly then throws his arms up at the other defenders as if it's there fault. Can't believe he won't be dropped but it depends on what options McDermott has.
Guest Bilo Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 I was stunned by the way they were taken apart by a team with so little pace. They surely can't be as bad as they were yesterday, defend like that on Saturday and it could be another rout.
Happy Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 When you have players like Danny Pugh in the team then you know they are shite. We should thrash them on paper but the game isn't on paper, we will beat them though 2-0 win for City goals courtesy of Dyer and Vardy.
Callabinho Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Feeling a Kevin Phillips last gasp strike.....If he signs of course.
Finnaldo Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Feeling a Kevin Phillips last gasp strike.....If he signs of course. Exactly. 60/70th minute sub for when it's one of those days, like Forest.
lgfualol Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Think it will be a draw. If we can pinch it by a goal and win then I'll be uncontrollably excited.

TJB-fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Pearson and co are very very good at bringing the players back down, our lads won't be getting carried away imo. NP will ensure that we go out on Saturday knowing that Leeds are a very good side and 1 bad game wont ruin their season.
Kitchandro Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Their number 24 Really hope he doesn't get dropped. I remember Leeds getting thrashed 5-0 at home to Blackpool the other year, then they came to us next match and won 1-0. Of course we're a much better side than then.
Happy Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 http://audioboo.fm/boos/1845621-sheff-weds-v-leeds-united-brian-mcdermott-reaction
Brooksy Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Reckon it'll be a tight game with a late winner from us. Fancy Mahrez to score a screamer and become an instant hero.
midland_red Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 so what did we learn from Friday?in my opinion that we are now like a player taking a pen or a golfer making the final putt. We are at least partly playing against ourselves now. We have no reason to be afraid of any team in this league. We need to pull off the difficult trick of bearing this in mind, going into a match with the expectation of winning, while keeping our nerve, and taking every game seriously. Even though we don;t need to be afraid, there will be no easy games. Leeds won't always be as dire as they were against Sheff Wed...we will soon doubltess be playing teams (sheff wed for example) fighting for their lives. Ive no doubt that NP will have brought the lads down to earth after Friday ready for what will be a tough game. prediction 2-2
katieakita Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Don't think NP will let us ease up but a banana skin for sure and live on sky.
Corky Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 When Leeds had their first "shot" (it was a bobbler that Kirkland saved after going down in installments) the Leeds fans did a huge ironic cheer, the cameras then cut to McDermott glaring at them in disgust
Wink Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Will be interesting to see what their fans are saying on their forums No doubt after our performance this week, and Leeds non performance we should be going into this to pick up an easy 3 pts. However we all know football isn't like that. Surely their must be some fight in their team and I'm sure they won't be that poor again and we will see a reaction next week. Having said that I have faith in Pearson to keep the players feet on the ground and not get carried away. We need to take every game seriously, and if we do and play our own game I believe we will get the 3 pts. Some people claiming we should hit double figures next week need to take a reality check. I'd take a 1-0 win right now!

I'd take a 1-0 win right now! While a wins a win, after the way we played on friday and they played yesterday, a 1-0 win would be rather disappointing, because the gulf in class looks absurd. They got torn asunder and were chasing shadows of a team with minimal pace: the likes of Lloyd and Vardy would have an absolute field day against that defence.
ithuriel Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Think peeps are getting carried away, we may be a good team but on our day we can be as bad as anyone, look at those two defeats in December. I think we should beat Leeds but you never know in football, fingers crossed things hold together long enough for us to win an auto spot
