midland_red Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 All of this speculation appears to be based on the potential for an almost catastrophic loss of form on our part. Do any of you truly believe this will happen?? Derby may just about crawl past 80 odd points and QPR could nudge towards the high 80s. Not enough for us to worry about. Promotion's done - let's win the league. I suppose not, but it seems to be chancing fate to assume that we automatically will go up. The chances of a collapse are I agree, small based on recent form. But by definition they are not zero.
Socks Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 To the people who say 90 points for promotion, can you see QPR taking 27 out of 33 points? Can you see Wigan taking 32 out of 36 points? No chance. why not ? we've taken 26 out of 30 in our last ten Burnley 22 out of 30 whos to say QPR & Wigan can't do a similar thing for last 10 games ? Some rumours are that the cheating bastards that are QPR are going sign yet even more loanees before the 24th match when the loan windows end

Some rumours are that the cheating bastards that are QPR are going sign yet even more loanees before the 24th match when the loan windows end Because it's highly unlikely. They might win 6 or 7 of their remaining games but winning 9 out of 11 QPR won't do, they just aren't good enough, especially when they've got to play us again. They'll get two losses and a draw or two, putting them around 85. Wigan have been on a great run, but they will also have one eye on the FA Cup semi final. Will they win 10 out of 12 and get a draw in the other? Not for me. They might get around 8 wiins and a couple of draws, but again, this puts them on 84. These teams aren't good enough to put an amazing record breaking run together. 2 wins and a draw
Socks Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 My arse wont stop chewing on my undies until i see the (P) and then hopefully © next to our name ;-)
Corky Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 QPR have to play Wigan so one or both of their totals will reduce.
Tommy G Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Can't see burnley catching us, they are awful up top and don't seem to be scoring Their only option off the bench is Connor Slamon and Mason bennett?? Not worried about them

Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 QPR have to play Wigan so one or both of their totals will reduce. Great news for us as I believe those two will be 3rd and 4th.
Guest Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 It's quite possible that we have enough points for promotion already. Certainly don't think 3rd will make it to 90pts. I long ago started looking at the necessary points to be declard champions. Burnley have been doing well but I believe we'll beat them when we play them and the crown will be ours.

They seem to be on a roll, and their shots-per-game is similar to ours. I don't think QPR will get 27 out of 33, unless they get Austin back to play alongside Morrison.
fuchsntf Posted 18 March 2014 Posted 18 March 2014 It hurts....but come on Forest, do something for neighbourly love, stop ....just one weekend forget about your trams go out out and wup the rams, ....do it for the craic, and knock em off track

woddyuk Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 As of last nights results 14 points GUARANTEES promotion 24 GUARANTEES the tilte P W D L F A GD PTS now MAX possible LEICESTER 35 25 5 5 68 33 35 80 113 BURNLEY 36 20 13 3 59 31 28 73 103 DERBY 36 18 9 9 60 43 17 63 93 QPR 36 18 9 9 43 31 12 63 93 WIGAN 35 17 8 10 48 34 14 59 92 FOREST 36 14 15 7 55 41 14 57 87 READING 36 15 11 10 56 41 15 56 86
Pegosteve Posted 19 March 2014 Posted 19 March 2014 If you take each teams average points for their last 10/11 games and they continue with that then these will be the final positions: City - 109 Burnley - 95 Wigan - 82 Derby - 79 QPR - 76 Forest - 70 QPR have us, Forest and Wigan to play. Wigan have Us , Burnley, Reading and QPR to play. I really cannot see third place making more than 85 points now. For me Sheff Wed or Brighton game to guarantee promotion. If things go really well could be Wigan away! The Fat Lady is in the wings!!!
Pegosteve Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 OK here we go again: Based on last 6 games average: City - 104 Burnley - 100 Wigan - 89 QPR - 81 Derby - 78 Based on last 10/9 games average: City - 105 Burnley - 99 Wigan - 87 Derby - 81 QPR - 76 To get to 90 points Derby, QPR and Wigan can only afford to drop 3 points ( 2 points in Wigan's case) Just ain´t going to happen!
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Still say 90 points will do it, possibly even a couple less if other teams slip up
dedlock Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Still say 90 points will do it, possibly even a couple less if other teams slip up Agreed,as things stand it requires one of the sides from 3rd down to win most of their games and City to lose to deny us. If those teams get an average 2 points per game, which is more likely,we are all but there.
EdinburghFox Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 yeh, 3 wins puts us on 91that would mean QPR need to get 22 to catch us and they only have 8 games-- they can only get 24 more total!!
sdb Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Still 3 wins. Nice to remain unbeaten but QPR will get very close to 90.
