Bert Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 Mathematically it's 17. That's if QPR win every game they have left. Which although there's a possibility of, I just can't see it. Been saying for a long time that 90 points will be an automatic promotion place and I still stand by that. QPR and Derby need 9 wins from 11 and 10 respectively to do that which again seems unlikely.
MooseBreath Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 If you go on season form we only need one more win. I'd be surprised if 3rd place gets 90 from here
Guest kristianity77 Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 There is no way that we need 15 points from here to be "promoted". We probably need 10 more points maximum like Bert said, but we would still be promoted with a couple of wins and a draw in my opinion. 15 points is possibly the requirement for the title however.
Steven Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 This has already been discussed on another post. I believe we need 17 points and that would be assuming all the other teams in the mix win all their remaining 11 which is unlikely http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/92189-points-for-promotion/
DennisNedry Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 We need to start looking at points needed to seal the championship title. We have automatic promotion in the bag now. Derby and QPR can't string 2 wins together to save their lives. Put it this way, if we don't finish top 2 from this position, we're never going to do it and we might as well give up. Surely no team in history has thrown away a lead as big as ours?
Steven Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 We need 16 points ( as of Sunday March 16th ) because QPR can only get 96 points , 16 points more than we have now. Every time QPR play and drop points our required points total decreases by that amount. The same applies to Wigan (94 points ) and Derby ( 93 points ). In other words we are in a very strong situation , COYB Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 92 points
sdb Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 By my maths, Burnley will finish on 92, QPR on 90, Derby & Wigan 83. So, 93 for title, 91 for promotion.

Derby level on points with QPR but can't see them winning every game either
kingfox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 I think 90 like Bert. We have 4-5 potentially tough encounters left, apart from that the rest are pretty much winnable. Derby can't score a goal of late & QPR still remain without Austin. We will see, but no point getting ahead of ourselves yet.
Agent Fox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 If we don't go up from here then I will not renew my season ticket next year - We cannot possibly have a better season at this level again.
XLM Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 This is the time of season when lowly teams pick up unexpected points too. Teams in the top 6 will rarely all finish in top form.
Stan Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 All of this speculation appears to be based on the potential for an almost catastrophic loss of form on our part. Do any of you truly believe this will happen?? Derby may just about crawl past 80 odd points and QPR could nudge towards the high 80s. Not enough for us to worry about. Promotion's done - let's win the league.
reynard Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 By my maths, Burnley will finish on 92, QPR on 90, Derby & Wigan 83. So, 93 for title, 91 for promotion. Not sure how you got to those numbers. I'm pretty sure Wigan will get more than 83 and Burnley will get more than 92. Qpr I don't know. the QPR v Wigan game in a couple of weeks is very interesting.

harpendenfox Posted 16 March 2014 Posted 16 March 2014 If you take a look at Statto (which I do way too often), their predicted points column suggests we have already done enough, with only Burnley joining us on more than 79 points. Much though I love Statto, I'd like 3 more wins please
Mark Oakley Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 Been working out fixtures for all contenders , looks like we could get promotion the day after we play sheff wed , could be a real anti- climax watching Wigan, derby,QPR dropping the point/points on the Saturday to clinch it for us while we're not playing!!!! Then again who cares as long as we do it!!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Socks Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 cant see QPR or Derby catching us tbh, gaps too big and dont hink we will have a major fvck up But Burnley can quite easily if we dont win our game in hand over them 90 points for Promotion 94 for champs
Leicester_Loyal Posted 17 March 2014 Posted 17 March 2014 To the people who say 90 points for promotion, can you see QPR taking 27 out of 33 points? Can you see Wigan taking 32 out of 36 points? No chance.
