JmorsonLCFC Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 yeah i looked for one a few games back just to reassure myself we were going to win it by miles but couldn't find one did exactly the same haha! I would work it out myself but im too lazy
JmorsonLCFC Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 To smash Reading's record we need to win 10 out of the last 12 which would give us 107. Don't see why not! 9 wins 3 draws..we're definitely capable!
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 To smash Reading's record we need to win 10 out of the last 12 which would give us 107. If we lose the other two, yes. Could also do it by drawing three games - Burnley, Wigan and Reading, say.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I think I might cry when we get promotedI think there will be a few of us like that
lcfc278 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I think there will be a few of us like that Its been a long 10 years - as a teenager the match of the day theme used to bring shivers when we'd had a win or scraped a draw, cant wait.

Ribbo Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 If anyone wants a crack at my pretty crude attempt at a championship predictor download it from here! (follow the link, file, download.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5454GMshwaQWkY0MFVNelczTjQ/edit?usp=sharing hopefully it works...let me know if it doesn't. Also im aware its not perfect, it won't work for game by game predictions because as for it to work I had to make every game a draw. Works for final predictions though! Oh and its also a couple of games behind.
reynard Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 As of tonights results, 20 more points guarantees promotion 29 more points guarantees the title Leicester 77 pts max poss 113 games left 12 Burnley 69 pts max poss 105 games left 12 Derby 62 pts max poss 95 gamesleft 11 QPR 60 pts max poss 96 games left 12 Forest 56 pts max poss 89 games left 11 Reading 55 pts max poss 91 games left 12 Wigan 52 pts max poss 94 games left 14 Pretty sure Reading only have 11 games left and thus a maximum of 88 points. It would be good to see Wigan, Derby and QPR drop some more points quickly. Some Key potential matches coming up this month. 15th Ipswich v Wigan Reading v Derby 22nd Derby v Forest Middlesborough v QPR 25th Ipswich v Derby QPR v Wigan Our next two home games are really games we must win as we have 3 very tricky away games at Blackburn, Burnley and Wigan to come. We've a tricky run of games coming up and I can't see us being promoted before the home game against Brighton unless other teams keep losing points at the current rate.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Love these threads! The great thing is, I can't be arsed with all the maths behind it,however, I really appreciate those that do and post, thank you. My personal feeling, with assumed dropped points from those chasing, I would still put my money on it being the Sheffield Wednesday game, which I feel would be perfect. Imagine clinching our place in the Premier League at the KP, full house under the lights on a Friday night with the footballing world able to watch it live on Sky. Then one hell of a fookin party with time to recover      Sends shivers just thinking about it! COYB
Happy Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 2ppg means 92 points should be enough 92-77= 18 points. 6 wins should be enough for the title. 4 wins for automatic promotion could be secured at Burnley (if they lose tonight that is guaranteed to be a possibility).
Bert Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I think 96 for the title. 90 points will see 2nd place promoted. Hope we can secure promotion against Brighton. Just so sky aren't there for it.

Why are you worrying about Wiganor Reading or Forest? Wigan are 24 points behind us - that's nearly half the total they've secured in 33 games so far Forest are 21 points behind us with only 11 to play. They are seriously no threat to us at all. even QPR are 17 points behind us - that's 6 wins in matches at the same time as us losing 6 matches and matching the other 6 games. Yes it's possible but it's very very unlikely. We would need the mother of all **** ups not to be promoted from the position that we're in.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Don't apply for a job on Countdown any time soonWhy? All what he's said makes sense. .. doesnt it?
corbyfox1884 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 the most Derby will get is 84 points ( to do that they have to average 2 points per game for the rest of the season which they wont do). We need 8 more points from 12 games to get to 85 ... that is bottom 3 form !! That isnt going to happen either . Get that banner ready to fly over Watford on the 3rd May .....'Good things come to those who wait , we are premier league'
ManxCityMan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Over the last few seasons this is what would have gained promotion. Last year 79 points got automatic promotion with 3rd place just behind. In 11/12 89 points to the runners up, in 10/11, QPRs promotion year, 85 for the runner up but 80 would have been enough. In 9/10 Newcastle were promoted with 102 points an West Brom were 2nd with 92. Third place only 79. Both of those teams still there as I type! And in 8/9 Wolves were champions and 3rd place hit 80 points. So on 77 not quite there but close - more important history suggests 90 plus to survive and the Newcastle target of 102 would be so sweet.

yorkie1999 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Statto.com is a great site for points prediction. They have us on 98 points and burnley on 89 points on season form. That seems about right to me. When Reading got the record points, they only lost 2 games all season.
