sylofox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Having looked at the tables tonight if we carry on as we are only Luton can get promotion before us. Don't really see us not doing it now. The only team to get close on form is Burnley. The rest seem to be falling apart and Wigan are to far behind.
kyleolly Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Were 2 points away from Hulls promotion points total last season and its only mid March, pretty amazing.
sylofox Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Were 2 points away from Hulls promotion points total last season and its only mid March, pretty amazing. Just shows how strong the league is this year. Makes last seasons collapse look even worse. But also highlights our progress since last season.
Lcfccon Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 We need to lose 5 and derby to win 5 for them to catch us! Can't see us losing once yet alone 5 times
fuchsntf Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 As of tonights results, 20 more points guarantees promotion 29 more points guarantees the title Leicester 77 pts max poss 113 games left 12 Burnley 69 pts max poss 105 games left 12 Derby 62 pts max poss 95 gamesleft 11......Have to win 5..+ draw QPR 60 pts max poss 96 games left 12.......have to win 5..+ 2draws Forest 56 pts max poss 89 games left 11.....have to win 7..+ draw Reading 55 pts max poss 91 games left 12.....have to win 7..+ draw Wigan 52 pts max poss 94 games left 14.....have to win 8..+ draw After reading your calculations then adding my have to win games I only see Reading and Wigan who form wise could go on a 8-9 game win run, maybe Forest if they get their injured players back. But all 3 would depend on city going on a 5-6 run of losses.Tonights game in fact the last 3 games if anything as proved how strong mentality and skilled they are. There is no way that this Pearson side will not win another 4-5 games, with a couple of draws. So I reckon by Burnley the games that all teams will have played, will confirm Citys promotion. If they dont lose against Burnley, then I believe thats the CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. Because with a poor run in their last 8 games they would still manage 92-95 points. Too much for everybody except Burnley. This is not the team from last season...our pos.max pts 113. Surely even the pessimists cant see us dropping 20 points or more.
Fox92 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 We won't drop 20 points. I look down the fixture list and the only possible games I think "that's tough" are Blackburn, Burnley and maybe Brighton at home.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 3 wins and a draw will seal it. Realistically we're already promoted though.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Weve got every chance of being on 80 pts on Saturday and Derby have every chance of getting beat at Reading. Assuming QPR beat Yeovil at home that would be a 17 point gap to 3rd with 11 to play. That would then require a 6 game swing with QPR or Derby for us to be overhauled. Its just not going to happen. We are 1/200 for promotion for this very reason
EcclesallOwl Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Wahaaaay! I said your lot would be going up I was a year too early.. But still! Chuffed for you all! Enjoy the Prem (too early?)

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Just been looking at a few fixtures and points tallies.... Our next three games: Blackpool (h), Blackburn (a) and Yeovil (h) are all very winnable. To win these three would put us on 86 points ahead of the Burnley game. Of the chasing pack, these are their next 4 fixtures: DERBY (62 points) - Reading (a), Forest (h), Ipswich (a) and Charlton (h) QPR (60 points) - Yeovil (h), Sheffield Wednesday (a), Middlesbrough (a) and Wigan (h) FOREST (56 points) - Doncaster (h), Derby (a), Charlton (h) and Ipswich (a) Now nothing is guaranteed, and anything can happen, but from my fairly generous estimations I've given Derby 10 points from those four games, QPR 7 points from their four and Forest 10 points from theirs. Anything less than these tallies with us winning our three games pre-Burnley would mean that we stand a chance of reaching a promotion-clinching tally at Burnley! If I were Sky I'd be looking to re-arrange the kick-off time to 5:15pm so that we know what the other teams have done on that day and they have a chance to screen the match it becomes a certainty.
Manwell Pablo Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I think it's more a matter of when rather than if and has been for awhile now, last night's results just compounded that. I'd still like it to be mathematically confirmed as soon as possible mind

Most my mates/family in Leicester are out to buy tickets for Wednesday (4th April) as that's when we'll go up they reckon. Sounds about right. Although a positive result at Burnley and others continuing to piss it up it could be earlier. Blackburn, Burnley & Wigan are my local(ish) aways so anything confirmed at Burnley or Wigan if i get a ticket would be a dream. Even if nothing is confirmed at Burnley, if we beat them we're up anyway really, and more than likely as champions. Shitting hell. So close.
whoareyaaa Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I think we will be promoted if we win our next 5 games.

That's very generous - assumes Florist and Derby draw, and they win their other three games. I don't see Florist winning at Ipswich when they fooked up at Barnsley: and I think they will lose to Derby as well. In fact, I don't think Florist will make the playoffs - Reading are in a much better position.

I was almost very upset there until I looked at the fixtures, Scouse. It's Friday 4 April, and it's on television, so I will be able to join in the celebrations.

I think provided we can win at Blackburn at the very least we'll have a chance to get promotion by beating Wigan on that Tuesday night. Whether we can do so, or whether we have to wait until the Sheffield Wednesday game remains another matter.

Monk Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I am hoping we can secure promotion at the Sheffield Wednesday game as I will be down from Scotland! It will be my first game of the season amazingly - newborn baby has made it hard to get to games!! Though looking at the fixtures we may do it before then if playoff hopefuls keep slipping up. After the Wednesday game there will be 18 points left on the board which sounds about right. To do it before then the gap would need to be 21pts+, so I think the Wednesday game sounds like a reasonable target to secure it mathematically.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 been looking for a championship predictor like the one they used to have on BBC, where you could type in every remaining games result and get an end of the season total, does anyone have an alternative?

billyn88 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 To smash Reading's record we need to win 10 out of the last 12 which would give us 107.
